Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 327: Chapter 324: Kidnapped

Ouyang Jun heard Su Qingqing’s cry of alarm and quickly rushed out of the crowd; by the time he chased out of the jade material factory, Huo Sining’s trace had already disappeared.

Ouyang Jun asked Li Quan and Ji Kun to search the surrounding area again, but they still couldn’t find anyone.

”Damn it, where’s the kid?! Did you get a clear look at what he looked like?”

As soon as Ouyang Jun heard the whole story from Li Quan, his face darkened, knowing that something was very wrong, despite his own foolishness.

”He ran too fast, I didn’t pay attention.”

Ouyang Jun was choked with anger, but it was the guide who spoke up, ”Miss Huo is young; normally, she wouldn’t be targeted. Could you have offended someone?”

Su Qingqing was clueless, ”No, we only arrived in Hetian the day before yesterday. How could we have offended anyone—” She abruptly stopped as she thought of something, her face turning deathly pale.

Bai Yishan and Li Quan also wore grave expressions on their faces.

Ji Kun’s eyes turned cold as he said, ”It must have been those people from yesterday looking for revenge!”

Ouyang Jun, hearing that Ji Kun’s words carried hidden meanings, hurriedly asked, ”Who were these people from yesterday? What exactly happened!”

Only then did Ouyang Jun recall that when he went to find Ji Kun at the market yesterday, Ji Kun had mentioned some trouble, but he had been in a hurry to head to the countryside and, seeing that Ji Kun and the others were alright, he hadn’t bothered to ask for details.

Ji Kun, somewhat frustrated, recounted yesterday’s events. If he had known that provoking those people would lead to today’s situation, he certainly would not have mentioned the Qinghai material to that young man.

However, hindsight is of little comfort, and it was too late for any regrets now.

”It must be them. These Wei District People are vengeful. Since Miss Huo drew a knife on them, and on their own turf, they aren’t afraid of making a big scene.”

The guide, upon hearing Ji Kun’s words, immediately looked grim. Outsiders might not be aware of the local situation, but he was very familiar with it. Those radicals didn’t care about time or place—killing an outsider didn’t faze them in the least.

Upon hearing this, Ouyang Jun subconsciously furrowed his brow. He was well aware that a strong dragon could not suppress a local snake. He also didn’t understand the ways of the Wei District, so now was not the time to act tough. The priority was to figure out how to rescue Huo Sining.

”Some radicals, I see they are no different from hooligans and gangsters. Since they are a gangster force here, there must be a leader. You’re familiar with this place; help me ask around quickly and see what they want to release her!”

The guide had never expected such an incident to occur under his lead. If this matter were not handled well and resulted in a loss of life, he would be implicated too. So, as soon as Ouyang said this, he immediately agreed to help.

Huo Sining didn’t know how long she had been unconscious, but when she regained consciousness, it was already dark.

The surroundings were extremely quiet. Huo Sining was somewhat dazed, unsure of what had happened to her, until a few seconds later she remembered that she had been chasing the child and then been ambushed.

As she gathered her strength, Huo Sining realized something was wrong. She tried to move and found her body stiff; her hands and feet were bound, and her eyes were covered with a black cloth, which explained why it felt dark.

Despite her efforts, Huo Sining struggled to move—the kidnapper’s ropes were tied too tightly for her to break free.

A thought crossed Huo Sining’s mind. She crossed her bound hands together, getting ready to pull out a fruit knife from her storage ring, but just at that moment, footsteps approached from not too far away.

”Big brother, the person has been captured, right by the Moyu River. Don’t worry, there’s no escape.”

The person outside spoke in the Wei dialect, which Huo Sining couldn’t understand, but hearing the voices, she didn’t dare to make any rash moves and could only wait cautiously for an opportunity.

Soon, the scattered sound of footsteps came towards her and stopped by her feet.

Huo Sining wanted to feign unconsciousness, but in the next moment, someone kicked her in the stomach and cursed loudly, ”Stop feigning if you’ve woken up!”

With that kick, Huo Sining immediately felt a sharp pain and instinctively cried out, curling up into a ball.

The person leaned over and yanked off the black cloth covering Huo Sining’s head. Blinding light poured in, and she squinted instinctively, taking a few seconds to open her eyes fully.

Seeing the man standing in front of her with a sneer on his lips, Huo Sining’s eyes widened in shock: ”It’s you!”

Four people stood before her, and the leader was none other than the Wei District merchant whom she had held at knifepoint with a fruit knife at the market the day before.

The bandit looked at Huo Sining with cold eyes: ”Not a bad memory, girl, you still recognize who I am!”

Huo Sining’s heart pounded: ”What do you want with me?”

The man sneered: ”What do I want? You Han people come to our turf acting tough, even daring to point a knife at me, and now you’re asking me what I want? Obviously, I want your life!”

Huo Sining’s face turned slightly pale; she had thought that these Wei District people would let bygones be bygones once they got the money, but she hadn’t expected them to resort to such underhanded tactics.

”Don’t your Wei District people believe in the true God, Ala, insisting that only through submission and peace can one be redeemed by Ala?” Huo Sining scoffed, curling her lip, ”It seems like your true God will be disappointed. Faith seems utterly useless to you.”

The Wei District merchant immediately became enraged, cursing: ”You bitch, are you looking to die?!”

As he raised his hand to hit her, the three accomplices behind him quickly grabbed him.

’Abgan, there’s no need to get angry with her. Once we get the money, we’ll just dump her in the Moyu River!” one of the accomplices urged in the Wei dialect.

Hearing this, the Wei District merchant halted his actions and scoffed, staring at Huo Sining:

”You little wench have quite a lot of money, huh? You’re willing to spend two hundred thousand on that crappy Mei Dekang, so how come you only offered ten thousand for my piece of Qinghai material? You think I’m easy to bully?”

Huo Sining’s expression darkened: ”You’ve been following us?”

The Wei District merchant snickered: ”Follow you, is that necessary? Ever since you entered the Wei District, every move you’ve made has been within our control! You’d better pray your companions hand over the money quickly, or watch out for your life!”

Huo Sining had thought this man genuinely intended to take her life, but upon hearing this, she was somewhat relieved, realizing that these people were after money.

Huo Sining didn’t know that these people were considering cashing in on the ransom. She wanted to ask how much ransom they had demanded from Ouyang Jun and the others, but clearly, the man wasn’t inclined to share too much. He left two accomplices to watch her and then took the remaining one to keep watch elsewhere.
