Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 342: Chapter 338: Rock Spirit Pearl

The Ghost-faced Tibetan Mastiff is like a ticking time bomb; even the dog’s owner can’t guarantee complete control over it. No matter how strong its fighting ability, if it can’t be commanded and obey obediently, it can only be shelved.

But Heitan is different. Huo Sining was sure that, given time, this guy would grow into an adult Tibetan Mastiff and would definitely become an imposing ’King of Dogs’ who takes orders and acts accordingly!

As for how much Heitan is actually worth, Huo Sining didn’t really care. She had already considered Heitan as part of the family, like a relative—how could she possibly sell it?

Yan Feng was pacifying the agitated Lei Shi, while Huo Sining turned to Heitan and said, ”Heitan, from now on, Lei Shi is going to live here. It’s a guest, and you can’t bully it!”

”Ningning, you’re so funny. Can it understand you?”

Bai Yishan looked at Huo Sining as if she were looking at an alien, probably finding it strange that Huo Sining was talking to a dog.

Can a dog understand such complex language when a person speaks to it?

Bai Yishan exchanged glances with Su Jinyuan, both of them dubious.

However, in the next moment, the expressions on the faces of Bai Yishan and Su Jinyuan stiffened.

After Huo Sining had finished her admonishments, Heitan gave Bai Yishan a sidelong glance, showing a look of disdain, and then actually walked straight over to Lei Shi.

The little guy extended a paw and patted Lei Shi on the body, just as a person greets a stranger, then it let out a few wu wu wu barks, though no one knew what it was saying.

Lei Shi, which had been cowering on the ground as tense as a puffing lion, suddenly lifted its head after Heitan finished speaking, looking both wary and doubtful.

The little guy then soothingly petted Lei Shi a few times, and slowly Lei Shi’s stance relaxed. The two dogs nipped at each other a bit, let out a few barks, and before long, Lei Shi was chasing Heitan into the yard, quickly starting to romp around.

Uh...

Everyone was suddenly disheveled by the turn of events.

”Who would have thought that Heitan is actually a master of making friends? He actually managed to tame the haughty beast Lei Shi so quickly!” Bai Yishan couldn’t help but sigh in admiration of Heitan’s skills.

Su Qingqing, however, was focused on something entirely different from everyone else. She glared resentfully at Lei Shi, who was now rolling on the grass with Heitan, and confronted Yan Feng with dissatisfaction:

”Isn’t this guy a clean freak? Why does it have to jump into the pond and bathe after I touch it, but it doesn’t need a bath after Heitan touches it?!”

Huo Sining was floored; she hadn’t expected Su Qingqing to still remember that!

After checking out the surrounding environment of the school district villa and the house’s decorative style, Yan Feng raised an eyebrow and said nothing, going straight inside.

By this time, Lei Shi had also gotten familiar with Heitan. The two of them walked around the entire yard with their heads held high and chests puffed out, as if patrolling their territory, and then rushed into the house, inspecting it from top to bottom, inside and out.

Once inside, after looking over the house’s interior decoration and his own room, Yan Feng’s expression softened considerably. Seeing a rare smile in his eyes, Bai Yishan knew that the house had passed muster and she immediately breathed a sigh of relief.

It had been quite a task to invite the person over; they couldn’t let him leave because the living quarters didn’t meet satisfaction.

”It’s not easy to find a house at short notice. You can stay with Huo Sining for now, and we’ll arrange a suitable house for you as soon as we find one,” Bai Yishan explained.

Yan Feng didn’t say anything, but now Lei Shi started to make discontented noises on the side. Bai Yishan remembered the dog issue and quickly said, ”Lei Shi will be well settled, rest assured about that.”

Yan Feng nodded slightly without saying much, and Bai Yishan breathed a sigh of relief. After giving Huo Sining a few reminders, she hurriedly took her leave. She still had to find Cantonese and Jiangsu chefs for Yan Feng.

Since Auntie Li could only manage a few homestyle dishes, her culinary skills definitely couldn’t meet Yan Feng’s standards. Bai Yishan was worried about neglecting Yan Feng and naturally wanted to make arrangements as soon as possible.

After Yan Feng settled his luggage in the room, he came out to see Lei Shi and Heitan chasing each other around the yard and couldn’t help but look at Huo Sining with an almost amused smile, ”The dogs, it was your doing, wasn’t it?”

Huo Sining was taken aback at first, but soon realized what he meant and nodded a bit sheepishly.

She couldn’t hide the fact that she had the Water-Repelling Pearl from Yan Feng, and naturally, those little tricks were nowhere to hide in front of him.

Huo Sining started to doubt whether it was right for her to invite Bai Yishan to persuade this person to come down from the mountain and live in her house because she felt she had no privacy left at all.

”Although your skills aren’t great, I must admit, your luck is indeed quite good,” Yan Feng said impassively.

Huo Sining: ...

Are you complimenting or insulting me?

Bai Yishan was very efficient. Around five in the afternoon, she brought two chefs, both disciples trained by head chefs from five-star hotels, who had just finished their apprenticeships. She had poached them at a high price.

After the two chefs prepared a table full of dishes, Yan Feng nodded his approval after tasting them. It seemed that the chefs’ skills had passed his test.

That evening, Yan Feng asked Huo Sining to bring him the packet of shattered Jade Pendant pieces. When he suddenly saw the intricately broken jade, even Yan Feng, who was prepared for it, unconsciously furrowed his brow.

”How does it look?” Huo Sining asked, a bit nervously upon seeing Yan Feng’s expression.

Yan Feng shook his head, ”I can only do my best to try.”

Huo Sining was somewhat surprised, ”You can fix jade even if it’s broken?”

She had seen repairs made to plastic, iron, and ceramics but had never heard of anyone being able to fix jade.

”It can be fixed, but my skills are limited, and this jade of yours is seriously damaged. I might not be able to do a good job. If it doesn’t work out, we’ll have to find someone else.”

”Who?” Huo Sining was somewhat curious.

”Someone who owns the Rock Spirit Pearl,” Yan Feng said indifferently, glancing at Huo Sining.

Someone who owns the Rock Spirit Pearl?! Hearing this, Huo Sining was stunned. A fleeting thought crossed her mind, and a strange expression appeared in her eyes.

She had the Ice Spirit Bead, Su Lan had the Fire Spirit Pearl, Yan Feng had the Wind Spirit Pearl, and there was someone with the Rock Spirit Pearl. What on earth was going on? Could it be they were trying to gather all elements and phases like metal, wood, water, fire, earth, wind, rain, thunder, and lightning?

Huo Sining wasn’t sure and held back from asking out loud, despite the question being on the tip of her tongue.

Filled with doubts, she found that whether it was Yan Feng or the earlier Su Lan, both kept their lips sealed and seemed to be hiding something from her. She assumed that even if she did ask, Yan Feng wasn’t likely to tell her.

Forget it, best to wait until the Jade Clean Bottle is repaired. Both Su Lan and Yan Feng had said that only by mastering the Spirit Pearl Heart Method could she fully control the Spirit Pearl.

And it was evident from Yan Feng’s tone that the Ice Spirit Bead was not as simple as just repelling water. Since she hadn’t learned the mental method, it seemed like she was squandering the pearl’s potential, which is why Yan Feng mocked her tricks as insignificant and looked down upon them.

Huo Sining was filled with anticipation, looking forward to the Azure Pearl bringing her even more surprises.
