Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 328: Chapter 325: Saving the Wife a Thousand Miles Away

Over half an hour later, the guide returned; however, the expression he wore as he looked at Ouyang Jun was somewhat grim.

”How did it go?”

Everyone anxiously pressed for the outcome.

The guide hesitated for a moment before finally speaking, ”They’re demanding ten million.”

Ouyang Jun sneered, ”They really think we’re easy marks, huh? Ten million, fine. You tell them, no problem. I refuse to believe today; I want to see who dares to take this ten million!”

As he spoke, Ouyang Jun pulled out his phone and didn’t hesitate to call Gu Xu:

”Xu Zi, your wife has been kidnapped in the Wei District. Those bastards are asking for a ten million ransom. Deal with it yourself!”

Ouyang Jun hadn’t wanted to make a big fuss initially. If those people had asked for less, he would have paid the money to keep the peace and wouldn’t have taken issue with those Highland Reds.

But their huge appetite had indeed angered Ouyang Jun. If he didn’t show some real force, those people would truly believe they could be bullied around.

Gu Xu knew that Huo Sining and others had gone to Hetian, but he hadn’t expected them to encounter danger. Hearing what Ouyang Jun said, his heartbeat seemed to hammer more fiercely against his chest with each beat, a dull pain throbbing at his temples. He cursed loudly, gathering all his strength, and then charged out of the room with swift steps.

Gu Xu had always been seen as an unflappable and aloof gentleman by his company’s employees. Seeing him lose his composure like this was a first for them. The senior staff stood up, dumbfounded, and watched Gu Xu’s retreating figure, exchanging puzzled glances.

Song Hui just happened to exit the elevator and saw Gu Xu with eyes blazing red, holding his phone and talking to someone, ”Get a private plane ready for Hetian. We need to take off within twenty minutes, immediately, now!”

Gu Xu’s voice was so low it was nearly frightening, and Song Hui had never seen him so panicked before.

”Xu Zi, what’s wrong?” Song Hui asked instinctively.

Gu Xu couldn’t afford to explain in detail, saying only one sentence, ”I’m taking a trip to Hetian. You’re in charge of the company’s affairs.”

With that, he rushed out without looking back.

Song Hui was completely baffled. Suddenly, he remembered that Ouyang Jun had gone to Hetian—could this have something to do with Ouyang? Filled with curiosity, he immediately picked up his phone to call Ouyang Jun, ”Xu Zi just ran out of here in a frantic state. Do you know what happened?”

Ouyang Jun furrowed his brow and was silent for a moment before replying, ”Huo Sining and I are both in Hetian. She was just kidnapped, and now the kidnappers are demanding a ten million ransom.”

Song Hui was shocked.

Ever since their fishing trip out of S City, they had all found out about Gu Xu’s affection for Huo Sining. While teasing Gu Xu for robbing the cradle, they also looked forward to the day he would win her over.

It wasn’t easy finding someone he liked, and even Song Hui felt happy for Gu Xu. After being an iceberg monk for so many years, he wondered if Gu Xu might have gotten sick from the repression.

But now Ouyang Jun was telling him that the woman Gu Xu hadn’t even won over yet had been kidnapped. Was this some kind of joke?

No wonder Gu Xu was so agitated; he was ready to fly over a thousand miles to rescue his woman.

It took less than three minutes after Gu Xu’s phone call for the response to come through. Maybe it was Gu Xu’s previous urgency that made them realize the seriousness of the situation because they were very efficient in handling it.

The boarding location for the private jet was confirmed, and it was ready for take-off at any moment, with the flight path already applied for and granted. Gu Xu drove towards the airport in a mad rush, feeling as if his heart was wavering and sinking into an icy cave, yet at the same time, hot blood was surging to his head, making even breathing somewhat difficult.

The plane flew directly to Hetian, and he nearly neurotically redialed Huo Sining’s phone over and over, but he couldn’t get through.

Gu Xu suddenly felt powerless, forcing his eyes to stay open as he leaned back in his seat. Even he, who had always strategized behind the scenes, was discovering for the first time that in the face of such an event, he too could feel panicked, afraid, and anxious.

The pilot, following Gu Xu’s orders, accelerated the flight. What was originally a journey of almost four hours was forcibly reduced by half, taking just over two hours to reach Hetian.

Outside the airport, a furious wind was blowing, and the temperature was exceedingly low. With a pallid face, Gu Xu disembarked from the private jet, disheveled, to find a member of the Northwestern Armed Department waiting for him at the airport entrance.

”Captain Gu,” the man said, handing Gu Xu a coat.

”Yu Cheng, has everyone arrived?” asked Gu Xu, his complexion ashen and his voice extremely cold.

”As per your instructions, we have assembled four squads, a total of thirty-six people, all ready to be dispatched at your command,” the man replied.

Gu Xu nodded, ”Then let’s go.”

Yu Cheng looked at Gu Xu tentatively, ”Captain Gu, what mission are we undertaking?”

Gu Xu glanced coldly at Yu Cheng, ”There’s been a kidnapping in the Wei District. Your mission is to figure out a way to rescue the hostages.”

Gu Xu would never admit that he was abusing his position for personal gain. He held the power to deploy the Falcon Precision Troops and had never used it for personal reasons. However, this time he couldn’t care less about that. Even if he would face criticism and punishment from his superiors after returning, he had to rescue the hostages first.

Yu Cheng’s face stiffened, his eyes flashing with deep confusion and suspicion.

Kidnapping? Wasn’t that a job for the police? And even if not, the armed police forces could help. Since when did the Falcon Special Forces need to step in?

”This hostage is of great importance to our mission, so we must spare no effort in rescuing them,” Gu Xu vaguely explained, guessing what Yu Cheng might be thinking.

Yu Cheng felt something was still off, but Gu Xu was his superior and the captain of Falcon; he had no choice but to comply absolutely with the commands, even if he had doubts, he had to suppress them.

”Understood!”

A group of dozens proceeded mightily toward Ouyang Jun’s location. Gu Xu was completely on edge, the tension in the car was frighteningly low, and Yu Cheng’s suspicions kept piling up in his mind, unable to untangle what was actually happening.

When Gu Xu and Ouyang Jun rendezvoused, Ouyang Jun’s side had already prepared ten million in ransom money.

Besides Ouyang Jun, Su Qingqing was also calling Huang Chengyi, who, despite having retired from the military for many years, still retained his connections. It wasn’t long before someone claiming to be the head of the Hetian Police Department called Su Qingqing to inquire about the situation.

The Hetian Police were efficient, and although they couldn’t track down Huo Sining’s exact location, they did learn that the Uyghur gangsters who had had a conflict with Huo Sining had been spotted around the Moyu River area.

”Then we’ll focus on the area around the Moyu River. Catch one if one shows up, if two show up, catch them both! As soon as those individuals appear, nab them immediately!” Ouyang Jun snorted coldly.

”The water in the Moyu River area is very deep; I’m afraid the kidnappers, in desperation, might harm the hostage,” the guide said, trembling.
