Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 335: Chapter 331: High Energy Ahead

”Damn it! I’m gonna fight him!”

Seeing Huo Sining being picked up by Gu Xu, Su Lan was about to explode with rage from not far away, wishing he could charge forward and have it out with Gu Xu right there and then.

But before he could rush forward, he was blocked by the protector.

”Why the hell are you stopping me?! That guy is taking advantage of my sister!”

The protector gave Su Lan a sidelong glance, ”If you really cared about Miss Huo that much, why didn’t you go rescue her when those thugs caught her?”

Upon hearing this, Su Lan was choked with anger, ”I was just trying to test the girl, to see if she could figure out a way to save herself. How was I supposed to know that kid would show up!”

If he had known that kid was going to follow them, he would have definitely shown up earlier to rescue the girl himself. How could it have been Gu Xu’s turn!?

”Motherfucker, I’m so pissed off!” Su Lan was brimming with indignation, his sister was noble and pure, and he absolutely couldn’t let some nobody of a mortal take her away!

”Are you trying to break up a pair of lovers? I think Miss Huo seems to like Mr. Gu as well, what’s so bad about mutual affection?”

The protector couldn’t understand Su Lan’s mentality, as if his good cabbage had been ruined by a pig, he actually thought the two people were quite a good match.

”What’s good about that, if you’re into that Gu guy, set him up with your sister. My sister can’t be spoiled by him!”

His words made Su Lan even more furious. The protector touched his nose, wanting to say that he didn’t have a sister, but he feared that if he spoke out, the Young Master would take out his anger on him, so after thinking about it, he simply shut up and stopped talking.

”No way, I must figure out how to stop him from seeing my sister!” Su Lan huffed coldly, his eyes filled with a steely resolve.

The protector looked up at Gu Xu’s retreating figure, a flash of sympathy in his eyes, poor kid, you’re in for it again.

As Gu Xu carried Huo Sining back, he suddenly, as if sensing something, abruptly turned his head and glanced towards the side of the mountain, a strange flicker in his eyes.

”What’s wrong?” Seeing Gu Xu’s expression change, Huo Sining asked subconsciously.

Gu Xu shook his head, ”It’s nothing.”

Gu Xu felt like someone was watching him with ill intent, but when he looked over there, he found nothing, dismissing it as his own misperception without dwelling on it.

Disliking having women as a hindrance, Gu Xu had not let Su Qingqing and Bai Yishan accompany him when he went to rescue Huo Sining.

Su Qingqing and the others were anxiously waiting in the hotel. Hearing the news, Huang Hongying also called in frantic concern to ask about the situation. The moment Su Qingqing received Huang Hongying’s call, tears immediately began to fall, ”Mom, Ningning has been kidnapped...”

Huang Hongying felt like she had been struck by lightning, completely stunned.

Ever since she met Huo Sining, she had truly liked the child. She had been close to Liang Ruining since they were young, so she regarded Huo Sining as her own daughter, hoping that Huo Sining would carry on Liang Ruining’s bloodline.

Now that Huo Sining had actually been kidnapped, her first thought wasn’t that her father’s leg ailment wouldn’t be treated anymore, but that if something happened to Huo Sining, how she would face Ruining, how she would face her aunt a hundred years later?

”Mom will figure something out right now, we must catch those kidnappers,” she said.

Huang Hongying clenched her teeth in hatred against those kidnappers, ”If anything happens to Ningning, I swear, even if I have to risk my life, I will not let those criminals get off easy!”

Huang Hongying’s face darkened, and she was about to hang up Su Qingqing’s phone call and discuss countermeasures with Su Zhenhua when, unexpectedly, at that moment, Gu Xu returned with Huo Sining.

”Ningning, it’s so good that you are unharmed!”

Seeing Huo Sining return safe and sound, Su Qingqing and Bai Yishan were both overwhelmed with emotion, and the three girls hugged and wept for joy.

After crying, Huo Sining recounted her experience of self-rescue, but of course, she did not specify where the folding fruit knife and spray on her person came from, and she certainly did not mention dumping the kidnappers into the river.

Seeing Huo Sining was able to turn danger into safety, Su Qingqing and the others didn’t think much about it. Gu Xu, on the other hand, felt a wave of confusion.

The kidnappers even threw away her backpack; how could they have left her fruit knife and pepper spray on her? Those kidnappers must be really foolish.

Besides, even if she had pepper spray and a fruit knife, after freeing herself from the ropes, how did she effortlessly overpower four kidnappers and throw them into the river?

Obviously, Huo Sining made the peril she faced sound too trivial and hid a lot of the details.

But Gu Xu didn’t voice his doubts in front of everyone.

It was like how Huo Sining could easily force the bullet out of his body and inconspicuously heal his gunshot wound.

This girl had too many secrets, and in fact, his initial attraction to her was because of her extraordinary abilities.

But now, Gu Xu was not pursuing these matters anymore.

Because of Huo Sining’s words, ”Gu Xu, you must be more patient than I am.”

He had patience. If Huo Sining was unwilling to talk, he wouldn’t ask about the reasons and details.

He would wait patiently for her to gradually open up, to let him into her inner world, waiting for the moment when she would take the initiative to tell him everything.

In fact, it was not only Gu Xu who was puzzled; the thugs and the police were even more confused.

The three thugs had drifted for over ten miles along the Moyu River before they were finally rescued by the Hetian Police Department.

By then, the three thugs were terrified; even though they were caught by the police, they only felt relieved, glad that their lives had been spared. During the police inquiry, they were very forthcoming, sharing everything they knew.

However, what puzzled the Hetian Police Department was that the three thugs all insisted that in the blink of an eye, they went from the cave to the river, and the time difference was definitely not more than one second. When they realized they were lying on a log in the middle of the river, they were stunned for a few seconds before reacting, and they were immediately petrified.

”Something’s not right here. How exactly did the abducted hostage escape? Her backpack was thrown away by the kidnappers, so how could she have had a fruit knife and pepper spray on her? And how exactly did she manage to throw these three burly men into the river?”

Chen Xiaolong, the captain of Hetian Police Department’s squad, was in charge of handling this kidnapping case, but after interrogating the three thugs, he couldn’t help but furrow his brow upon seeing their statements.

”Maybe the hostage had the items hidden in her clothing pockets, and those thugs forgot to search. And after floating in the river for so long, they were all terrified; they could be speaking nonsense without thinking.”

The hostage was rescued, and the Director of Hetian Bureau breathed a huge sigh of relief. This time, someone from the Imperial Capital had called him directly, and when he heard the caller announce their name, he was immediately frightened.
