Although Lin Huayu’s request was strange, no one dared to defy this clever and quirky young lady. Even Lin Zhen Nan, who loved this daughter immensely, would never rebuke her requests.

Lin Zhen Nan sat next to Lin Huayu and said, ”Huayu, your cousin doesn’t often come over. Can’t this matter wait until another day?”

Lin Huayu didn’t speak, only clutching the bullet pendant in her hand tightly, her eyes filled with nervous excitement, and even a hint of excitement.

Lin Huayu recognized this bullet pendant because she had seen Ye Qing wearing this bullet pendant.

After being saved by Ye Qing last time, Lin Huayu had tried to find Ye Qing, but she had never succeeded. For some reason, she always felt an inexplicable fondness for this life-saving stranger, always hoping to see him again. Lately, Lin Huayu often had nightmares, and every time she was in a nightmare, she would unconsciously dream of Ye Qing.

Although she had two bodyguards with her every day, Lin Huayu never felt truly safe. Throughout this time, only Ye Qing had genuinely given her a sense of security. That’s why she really wanted to see Ye Qing again. Whether out of gratitude or for that sense of security, she wanted to meet the person who had saved her once more.

Seeing the bullet pendant suddenly rekindled her hope of finding Ye Qing. Therefore, she could no longer think of going back home to meet her cousin. She had to head to Yunchi Group immediately.

When Lin Huayu arrived at Yunchi Group, it was almost the end of the lunchtime, and there were not many people in the office.

Mu Qingrong had gone to the factory, and most employees had gone out for lunch. Wang Xuan was packing up, ready to leave, when suddenly a few uninvited guests rushed in, causing him to frown slightly as he leisurely approached them.

”Gentlemen, we’re already off work. If you have any issues, please come back in the afternoon!” Wang Xuan stopped them.

Lin Huayu did not even look at him, her gaze sweeping the workspace several times, not finding Ye Qing. Undeterred, she headed straight for Mu Qingrong’s office, ready to push the door and look inside.

Wang Xuan’s brows furrowed, and he quickly stepped forward to block Lin Huayu, saying, ”Miss, what exactly are you doing here? How can you just barge into someone’s office like this?”

”Move aside!” Lin Huayu said sternly, feeling an inexplicable irritation in her heart as she couldn’t see Ye Qing.

Wang Xuan got annoyed; he was always a stubborn and self-righteous man. The reason he had been polite earlier was because Lin Huayu was beautiful. But now, with Lin Huayu’s attitude, he naturally felt aggrieved.

”Sorry, this is Yunchi Group’s facility, and no one is allowed to barge in like that!” Wang Xuan responded coldly.

Lin Huayu frowned slightly, and the bodyguard beside her immediately came over, grabbed Wang Xuan’s collar, and pulled him aside.

Wang Xuan was powerless to resist; Lin Huayu’s two bodyguards, both meticulously selected by Lin Zhen Nan himself, were indeed of high quality.

”What are you doing? Are you trying to rob us? I will call the police and have you arrested!” Wang Xuan shouted loudly. As the other employees had left the office and he was now alone, his shouts seemed somewhat feeble.

Lin Huayu ignored him, pushed the door open, and walked into the office, circling around before eventually walking out disappointed.

Still somewhat unwilling to give up, Lin Huayu walked up to Wang Xuan and said, ”Is this really Yunchi Group?”

Wang Xuan was stunned, then angrily said, ”What are you trying to do? This is a society governed by law, you...”

The bodyguard holding Wang Xuan interrupted him, ”This lady is the young miss of Lin Corporation, mind your words!”

”Lin... Lin Corporation?” Wang Xuan suddenly froze. Of course, he knew about Lin Corporation. Even a mere project manager from Lin Corporation was considered an unapproachable figure in Shenchuan City, a high-profile individual. The young miss of the Lin Corporation, that was even someone he might never dream of meeting.

And now, this young miss was standing right in front of him, how could it be possible?

Wang Xuan’s voice trembled, ”You... you really are the young miss of Lin Corporation?”

Lin Huayu did not respond to his question, asking again, ”Is this Yunchi Group?”

”Ah, yes... yes, it is...” Wang Xuan pinched himself on the leg, the sharp pain confirming he was not dreaming. However, he was also overjoyed inside. The young miss of Lin Corporation! Meeting her once, he would have something to boast about in the future!

Lin Huayu, ”How many Yunchi Groups are there in Shenchuan City?”

”Only our one... our Yunchi Group’s... products are quite good!” Wang Xuan stuttered in response, feeling somewhat uneasy in front of Lin Huayu despite his experience in sales.

Lin Huayu, ”Does your company have any trade relations with our Lin Corporation?”

Wang Xuan hurriedly said, ”Our company has just participated in the bidding for a project from your company, but due to an employee’s mistake, there was a slight problem with the proposal. We are urgently revising it. Miss Lin, if you would like to see the revised proposal, I can bring it to you this afternoon!”

Lin Huayu ignored the latter part of Wang Xuan’s statement; she just wanted to make sure that the person who delivered the proposal this morning was from this company.

”So...” Lin Huayu fell silent for a moment, then placed the bullet pendant in front of Wang Xuan and asked, ”Do you know the owner of this pendant?”

Wang Xuan was totally baffled, wondering whether Lin Huayu was here to find someone or to talk about business.

Wang Xuan glanced at the bullet pendant, his brows slightly furrowed. He certainly recognized the pendant; he had seen Ye Qing wear it. But what did Lin Huayu mean by bringing this bullet pendant to look for someone? Could it be that she also knew Ye Qing?

Instant jealousy surged in Wang Xuan’s heart. Since Ye Qing had joined the company and secured such good business with Das Group, he had already stolen all of Wang Xuan’s limelight. Mu Qingrong treated him exceptionally well, and to make matters worse, the two even shared an apartment, which Wang Xuan absolutely loathed.

The last time Ye Qing obtained an admission card to Lin Corporation’s bidding site, he once again stole Wang Xuan’s thunder. And now, Miss Lin from Lin Corporation personally came looking for Ye Qing, driving him almost to madness with jealousy.

”Do you recognize this or not?” Seeing Wang Xuan remain silent, Lin Huayu couldn’t help but ask again.

”Uh...” Wang Xuan thought for a moment and said, ”I’ve seen this pendant before. It belongs to one of our employees here.”

Overjoyed, Lin Huayu quickly asked, ”Who is he and where is he now? How can I meet him?”

Seeing Lin Huayu’s expression, Wang Xuan knew that her search for Ye Qing was for a good reason. His jealousy deepened, though he showed no sign of it on his face. Instead, he said regretfully, ”Unfortunately, he no longer works here!”

”What?” Lin Huayu’s eyes widened as she exclaimed, ”He... he doesn’t work here anymore? How is that possible? He went to our company this morning to deliver a project proposal. How could he not be working here anymore? You’re lying to me!”

Wang Xuan immediately put on a distressed face and said, ”Miss Lin, I really am not lying to you. He truly doesn’t work here anymore. He made several big mistakes here and caused the company to lose several deals. So, he was fired as soon as he returned this morning. He’s packed his things and left, and now no one can find him.”

”Fired?” Lin Huayu looked disappointed and asked, ”Then... does he have any contact information?”

”No,” Wang Xuan shook his head and said, ”He hasn’t been with the company for long, and the mobile phone he used was provided by the company. Since he’s been fired, he’s left the phone here. Moreover, he hadn’t even signed a formal contract yet, so nobody really knew him well.”

Lin Huayu almost in despair, asked, ”You... you don’t even know where he lives?”

Wang Xuan shrugged and said, ”Nobody really knew him well. He only worked here for a few days, so no one knows much about him.”

Completely hopeless, Lin Huayu looked at the bullet pendant in her hand, her eyes gradually reddening.

Seeing Lin Huayu look so distraught, Wang Xuan’s jealousy towards Ye Qing reached new heights. He couldn’t understand what charm that wooden-faced man had; why did he attract both Mu Qingrong and even the heiress of Lin Corporation?

Yet, inwardly, Wang Xuan felt a sinister satisfaction. He could see that Lin Huayu wanted to find Ye Qing but couldn’t. He had intentionally made up that story just to prevent Lin Huayu from finding Ye Qing.

”Ye, you damn well better never meet this Miss Lin again!” Wang Xuan thought smugly to himself as he covertly watched Lin Huayu, feeling a twinge of excitement.

In terms of looks, Lin Huayu was definitely not inferior to Mu Qingrong. Adding her Lin Corporation background, any man would be moved by her. Yet, why the hell was she fixated on Ye Qing?

Disappointed, Lin Huayu finally left, unable to find Ye Qing, which deeply saddened her mood. Even when she went home to see her cousin, she couldn’t lift her spirits.

As he watched Lin Huayu and the others leave, Wang Xuan immediately called Mu Qingrong.

”Director Mu, it’s bad, there’s been a problem!”

Wang Xuan’s voice was frantic, alarming Mu Qingrong who urgently asked, ”What happened?”

Wang Xuan said, ”Lin Corporation’s people just came here!”

”What?” Mu Qingrong was greatly astonished and asked, ”What did they come for? Are they still there? You hold them steady, I’m coming back right now!”

”No need, they’ve already left!” Wang Xuan paused, then said in a low voice, ”They came to warn us.”

”Warn us about what?” Mu Qingrong was puzzled. After all, a deal not going through shouldn’t necessarily result in enmity.

”It’s all because of Ye Qing!” Wang Xuan said, ”He went to Lin Corporation this morning to deliver a project proposal and somehow got into a conflict with someone. They came here earlier, saying they were going to cause trouble for Ye Qing.”

”How did this happen?” Mu Qingrong was inwardly concerned. Making an enemy of Lin Corporation could spell doom for their company.

”How did you handle it?” Mu Qingrong asked with a grave tone.

Wang Xuan said, ”I was afraid they would escalate the situation, so I told them Ye Qing had already been fired. They didn’t believe it and roamed around our office for a while before leaving angrily. Director Mu, I don’t see an easy resolution to this situation.”

Mu Qingrong frowned deeply, half-believing Wang Xuan’s words. However, such a serious matter wouldn’t likely be fabricated.

”What was their attitude?” Mu Qingrong asked.

”Definitely not good,” Wang Xuan said in a low voice. ”Director Mu, I think Ye Qing shouldn’t be involved in Lin Corporation’s business any longer. Otherwise, there might be more trouble in the future!”
