Urban Martial Saint

Third Brother was so enraged that he drew his gun, which was against the rules. But in his current state of agitation, he couldn’t care less.

However, although he drew his gun quickly, Ye Qing’s actions were even faster. Before his gun could be aimed at Ye Qing, Ye Qing had already rushed towards him and snatched the gun from his hand.

Looking at the gun barrel pointed at himself, Third Brother immediately wilted. He had been in the business for so long, when had he ever been held at gunpoint?

”You... you... what do you want to do?” Third Brother’s voice trembled, ”I’m telling you, snatching... snatching a police gun is a capital offense, aren’t you afraid of being shot by a firing squad?”

”I’m doing this to protect myself!” Ye Qing looked at Third Brother with cold eyes and spoke in a grave tone, ”If you could have a decent conversation with me, I wouldn’t need to snatch your gun. But now, it seems that we’ve lost the chance to talk properly!”

Triangular Eyes and the other four had already run out of the hospital room and were shouting loudly from outside, ”Hurry up and let go of our Third Brother, or else we’re calling the police. Let me tell you, if the police come, you’re definitely facing a capital punishment!”

The damn police were already here, yet she was still yelling about calling the police, it seemed she was also the type who was tough on the outside but a coward at heart.

Ye Qing couldn’t be bothered with her, pointed the gun at Third Brother, and said, ”Sit.”

”Sit... sit what?” Third Brother’s voice trembled, unable to grasp the thinking of the person in front of him. He snatched his gun, pointed it at him, and then asked him to sit, are robbers this polite?

Ye Qing pointed at a nearby chair and said, ”Sit here and wait for a while.”

Third Brother shakily went over to sit down, saying, ”Wait... wait for what?”

”Wait for my friend to come and sort this out.” Ye Qing glanced at Third Brother, ”You probably know my friend, his name is Zhao Chengshuang!”

”Ah? Captain Zhao is your friend?” Third Brother’s eyes widened suddenly, this was the West City Sub-bureau, he was just a district cop, how could he not know Zhao Chengshuang who held so much sway at the sub-bureau? Especially since Zhao Chengshuang had made a big achievement recently, he was the most popular cop at the West City Sub-bureau!

Third Brother stood up and tried to laugh it off, ”Why didn’t you say so earlier, if I had known you were Captain Zhao’s friend, how could such a big misunderstanding have happened? Hey, we’re all on the same side, right? It’s like the flood washed into the Dragon King’s temple, family doesn’t recognize family. Buddy, I’m sorry!”

Saying this, Third Brother tried to approach Ye Qing. But Ye Qing did not smile at all, only lifted the gun slightly and said, ”Sit!”

Third Brother immediately sat down, truly afraid of Ye Qing. But he was also afraid of Zhao Chengshuang. If Zhao Chengshuang really came, and he really was this man’s friend, then this matter might become difficult to handle.

”Buddy, look at it this way, I didn’t know you were Captain Zhao’s friend. If I had known, I wouldn’t have done this, even if it killed me. It’s said that ignorance is not a crime, so can we chalk this up to my mistake? How about I set up two tables tomorrow and give you a formal apology? There’s no need to disturb Captain Zhao over this, right?” Third Brother’s voice quivered.

Ye Qing ignored him, holding the gun pointed at him, silent and without any reaction.

”Buddy, why must you do this? If the situation escalates, it won’t look good for either of us. Look, this thing with you snatching a gun, it’s also a serious crime!”

Third Brother tried to threaten Ye Qing, but Ye Qing had just taken Chen Tianyao’s gun from the North City Sub-bureau deputy director the night before, so why would he care about this puny firearm?

Seeing that Ye Qing still had no response, Third Brother started to lose heart. Against someone who was impervious to threats and persuasion, he was out of options.

”Sis, sis!” Third Brother shouted loudly.

”What is it? Third Brother, are you alright?” Triangular Eyes’ voice came from far away; she was too scared to get any closer to the hospital room.

”You come in here!” Third Brother yelled.

”I... what do I come in for? Third Brother, don’t be afraid, nothing will happen, he wouldn’t dare to shoot!” Triangular Eyes was still trying to comfort her brother, though in reality, she was the most scared.

”Get in here!” Third Brother shouted angrily, he was done with politeness at this point.

Triangular Eyes, actually a bit fearful of her brother, took a while before she shakily made it to the door, but still didn’t dare to come in, just hiding behind the door instead.

Seeing her like this, Third Brother was infuriated and said resentfully, ”Sis, tell me the truth, is he the driver from the accident?”

Immediately, Triangular Eyes said, ”Of course it’s him, who else could it be!”

”Sis, you have to tell the truth. I’m telling you, someone from the bureau will soon investigate this matter. If we lie, you’ll also bear responsibility!” Third Brother said sternly.

Triangular Eyes’s face lit up, ”You have good relations with the people at the bureau, right? Him snatching a gun and assaulting a police officer, that’s a big deal, talk it up with the bureau people.”

Third Brother clenched his teeth and said, ”Do you think people don’t have their own contacts? I’m telling you, he has even better relations with the people at the bureau!”

”Ah?” Triangular Eyes suddenly froze, the perfect example of one who preys on the weak but fears the strong. When faced with a tougher situation, she was actually scared.

”Is... is the responsibility that big?” Triangular Eyes started to feel fear.

”If this really blows up, it’ll be enough to get you a stay inside!” Third Brother said resentfully.

”Ah?” Triangular Eyes suddenly went limp.

Seeing her like this, Third Brother immediately knew that she had actually been lying just now, and couldn’t help but feel even more infuriated as he said, ”Sis, are you also not sure?”

Triangular Eyes said in a trembling voice, ”This… this… this person was brought here by him, if it wasn’t him who hit the victim, then who else could it be?”

Third Brother almost exploded with anger and shouted, ”Just because he brought the victim here, does that mean he’s the driver responsible for the accident? Why is the first thing you think of not to be grateful to him, but to push the blame onto him? Why can’t he be a righteous person who stepped in to help? Why can’t he be the one who saved the person?”

Triangular Eyes was meek, her head hanging low, unable to utter a single word.

Third Brother trembled with rage and said angrily, ”Sis, what a great deed you’ve done. I’m telling you, if this matter is investigated, your husband won’t be able to escape responsibility either. By then, not to mention punishment, I’m afraid your husband won’t be able to keep his job!”

”Ah?” Triangular Eyes’ eyes suddenly widened in shock. Her husband worked for the district government, and although he was just a contract employee, she had always considered it her greatest honor. If her husband lost his job, she would lose her capital for showing off in the future!

”Third Brother, will… will this matter really be that serious?” Triangular Eyes asked in a hopeful whisper.

Third Brother glanced at Ye Qing and thought that normally, it wouldn’t be so serious. However, if Ye Qing really could get Zhao Chengshuang involved, then the matter could indeed become that serious.

Be aware, Zhao Chengshuang was seriously injured. If he personally stepped in to handle this matter, it would indicate that Ye Qing’s relationship with him was really not bad, so why would he let Ye Qing suffer such injustice and resentment?

”How serious it is, isn’t it all because of what you did!” Third Brother said indignantly.

”So… can I just not accuse him anymore, would that be okay?” Triangular Eyes asked, her voice trembling.

”What do you think?” Third Brother glared.

Triangular Eyes shivered, and in this moment of distress, she rushed in without considering the danger and said urgently, ”Third Brother, you… you have to think of a way for me, I… I really didn’t do it on purpose…”

To still claim it wasn’t intentional at this point, this woman really was full of lies.

As she was his own sister, Third Brother sighed and said in a low voice, ”If they don’t pursue it, it wouldn’t be so troublesome…”

”Ah?” Triangular Eyes looked at Ye Qing, and after a moment, she understood what Third Brother meant. She hurriedly approached Ye Qing and said in a quivering voice, ”Big brother, I… I was wrong, I’m not very clear, I shouldn’t have insisted that you were the one who hit the person. But after all, it was my child who got hit, it’s impossible for anyone to remain calm.

You… you are a magnanimous person, please let us off, we really didn’t do it on purpose…”

Ye Qing remained silent for a while, then slowly shook his head and said, ”No!”

”Why?” Triangular Eyes asked anxiously, ”I’ve admitted my mistake, I… I will never do such a thing again, please give me a chance…”

Mu Qingrong said angrily from the side, ”He was kind-hearted in saving the person, and you framed him like this, doesn’t that chill the heart of good people? If we don’t punish you harshly this time, then who would dare to be a good person in the future, would there be any justice left in this society, would people dare to help strangers?”

Triangular Eyes said in a low voice, ”It’s not that serious, is it…”

”It’s not that serious, but it’s a bad influence!” Mu Qingrong looked at Ye Qing and said, ”I think everyone who can help strangers without any compensation is a hero, how can we let a hero be wronged!”

Ye Qing glanced at Mu Qingrong. He did indeed want to punish Triangular Eyes this time. If these people weren’t punished, they would certainly be even more unrestrained in the future. Mu Qingrong’s high praise of him, the word ”hero,” made Ye Qing feel unexpectedly honored.

As Triangular Eyes was about to plead again, there was a commotion outside. Zhao Chengshuang arrived again in a wheelchair, accompanied by a team of people.

Seeing the situation inside the room, Zhao Chengshuang’s forehead was instantly lined with frustration.

Ye Qing had snatched a police gun again!

Fortunately, upon seeing Zhao Chengshuang enter, Ye Qing immediately handed over the police gun to him and briefly explained what had happened.

Zhao Chengshuang, with a face as frosty as ice, turned to look at Third Brother and the others and said angrily, ”Are you police or thugs? Acting without any rules? You just beat people up whenever you say so? If that’s the case, don’t be police officers, go be thugs instead!”

Third Brother and the others hung their heads, not daring to speak, while Triangular Eyes, seeing Zhao Chengshuang’s imposing manner, was even more scared into silence.

Zhao Chengshuang couldn’t be bothered to waste words with them, waved his hand and ordered, ”Take them back, investigate the case thoroughly, and punish them severely!”

The police Zhao Chengshuang brought with him took those several people away without further discussion, including the police officers associated with Third Brother.

”Captain Zhao, it’s me, it’s me, it’s all a misunderstanding,” Third Brother said with an awkward smile.

”What nonsense misunderstanding, misconceptions that involve drawing guns? We’ll talk back at the station!” Zhao Chengshuang did not give him any face, cursed, and with a wave of his hand, had someone take him away, not even bothering to glance at him.

Third Brother was extremely frustrated. He knew these people, but now who was willing to give him the time of day?

As for the five people with Triangular Eyes, they were handled swiftly; they were handcuffed on the spot. Zhao Chengshuang was not in the least polite to these people. Trying to frame a good person was already infuriating, but attempting to frame Ye Qing made Zhao Chengshuang even angrier.
