Urban Martial Saint

Mu Qingrong frowned slightly. She didn’t mind Lin Zhen Nan poaching her staff. However, the idea of losing Ye Qing was something she found difficult to let go of. Although she had not known Ye Qing for a long time, for some reason, she felt as if she had already gotten used to a life with Ye Qing around. The sudden prospect of someone poaching Ye Qing made it hard for her to let go.

”Originally, I did have bodyguards, but my daughter is a bit quirky and for some reason, she simply doesn’t like these two bodyguards. It might have something to do with her personality, I’ve spoiled her too much since she was young, and that’s how she became who she is now.

But there’s nothing I can do, I’m busy with business, and I can’t spend much time with her, so I always hope she can be happy and joyful,” Lin Zhen Nan said affectionately as he looked at his daughter outside, and continued, ”I see she gets along very well with Mr. Ye, and besides, Mr. Ye is very skilled. He saved my daughter once before and she is very grateful to him.

If he could protect my daughter, then Hua Yu might not be as unhappy as before.”

Mu Qingrong looked at Lin Huayu outside, just as Lin Zhen Nan had said, she seemed very close to Ye Qing, constantly sitting next to him and asking questions. Ye Qing was silent and reticent, only occasionally responding briefly, but Lin Huayu didn’t seem to mind at all. She preferred Ye Qing much more than her previous bodyguards.

Mu Qingrong was silent for a while, then turned to look at Lin Zhen Nan and asked, ”President Lin, is this request a condition for this business deal?”

Lin Zhen Nan shook his head and replied, ”This is just a father’s request. Hua Yu has been kidnapped once, I don’t want her to encounter something like that again. Director Mu, I won’t insist, I’m just asking you to consider it.”

If Lin Zhen Nan had outright stated that this was a condition, Mu Qingrong would not have agreed to it, even if it meant losing the business. But Lin Zhen Nan’s words had made Mu Qingrong feel somewhat uncomfortable. She stared at Ye Qing outside for a long time and sighed gently, ”This matter primarily depends on Ye Qing’s wishes.”

Lin Zhen Nan looked pleased and stood up, saying, ”Then if Director Mu finds the time, could you please mention this to Mr. Ye? Salary is definitely not an issue.”

Mu Qingrong replied, ”I think he won’t be concerned about the salary.”

Lin Zhen Nan and Wu Weiguo left Yunchi Company first. Lin Zhen Nan originally intended to take Lin Huayu with them, but she adamantly refused to leave, so he had no choice but to give up.

Lin Huayu was now like a little tail, always following behind Ye Qing, incessantly asking him about what happened after he left the abandoned factory the last time, and why she couldn’t find him when she went back.

Ye Qing, with his reserved nature, couldn’t respond to many of Lin Huayu’s questions. Lin Huayu, unusually, didn’t get angry, but instead was excited and inquisitive, showing a great interest in Ye Qing.

After seeing Lin Zhen Nan and the others off, Wang Xuan quietly came out of the restroom. The chaotic scene earlier had frightened him into hiding there, instead of standing with the company staff.

Wang Xuan knew Lin Huayu’s identity and seeing her eager attitude towards Ye Qing, he felt extremely jealous. He always thought he was much better than Ye Qing and couldn’t understand why those beautiful women seemed to favor Ye Qing, who seemed worthless in his eyes.

Wang Xuan quietly approached Mu Qingrong’s office and saw Lin Huayu pestering Ye Qing outside, a flicker of cold light flashing across his face.

”Director Mu,” Wang Xuan walked over to Mu Qingrong and said, ”Wasn’t what Ye Qing did a bit too much earlier? Beating those company owners that badly and making them crawl out of our office—if that gets out, it could ruin Yunchi Company’s reputation. Moreover, those companies were clearly going to continue their business, yet he forced them to cancel their deals.

Isn’t that working against the company?”

Mu Qingrong frowned, well aware of Wang Xuan’s penchant for tattling. However, because Wang Xuan had also contributed significantly to the company, she had tolerated him. But today, she had finally seen through Wang Xuan’s cowardice. The fact that he had come to her to tattle on Ye Qing again was something Mu Qingrong could no longer bear.

Mu Qingrong said disapprovingly, ”Manager Wang, those companies bullied their way to our doorstep, do you think we should just bite our tongue and offer our faces up for them to hit?”

”That’s not what I mean, but in business, everyone is after money, and peace is most valuable. Since they’ve apologized, we should just let bygones be bygones, why sour the relationship completely? If we are at odds with them now, how can we continue to interact with them in the future?” Wang Xuan said awkwardly, ”I just feel that Ye Qing was too harsh, he was too decisive.

He’s insulted those owners, and it’s not just business we won’t be able to do in the future—they’re going to schemes against us for sure.”

Mu Qingrong said coldly, ”Being decisive is definitely better than doing nothing and hiding in the restroom, too scared to come out.”

Wang Xuan’s face changed dramatically, as Mu Qingrong’s words were clearly directed at him. He looked at Mu Qingrong and, biting the bullet, said, ”Director Mu, I admit that hiding was not very honorable, but I called the police. Fighting openly with riffraff is definitely a loss, we can’t afford to suffer these kinds of losses.

Besides, I was also thinking of the company’s development; what Ye Qing did was simply wrong!”

”I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it. If these people can do something like this today, our Yunchi Company doesn’t need to continue cooperating with them. Also...” Mu Qingrong looked at Wang Xuan and said sternly, ”Our Yunchi Company can have timid and mediocre people, but we absolutely cannot have someone who stabs others in the back. Manager Wang, I’m sorry, but as of now, you’re fired!”

Hearing these words, Wang Xuan stared blankly at Mu Qingrong for a long time, his voice trembling as he said, ”Qingrong... you... how could you do this to me? Have you... have you forgotten who it was that stood by your side without leaving, helping you when the company was at its lowest? Who has been pulling in so much business for you, supporting the company until now?

Who has been maintaining the company for you when you needed it most? And now, for the sake of a newcomer, you’re going to fire me? Do you... do you still have a conscience?!”

Mu Qingrong’s face turned icy as he said, ”Wang Xuan, please do not paint yourself so nobly. When the company was at its lowest, you were receiving your salary and bonuses on time each month. Even when the company was in its toughest times, I never shortchanged you on your commission.

It’s true that you’ve brought in quite a bit of business for the company, but you’ve also caused the company to lose a lot of business. Wang Xuan, don’t think I don’t know about the fake accounting and kickbacks you’ve been involved with when pulling in business outside. I haven’t fired you until now only because I remember your long service to the company.

But, constantly slandering others in front of me like this, I can no longer tolerate it!”

Wang Xuan exclaimed angrily, ”After all is said and done, you’re firing me because of that Ye surname, right!”

Mu Qingrong shook his head slowly, ”Wang Xuan, please be clear. You being fired has nothing to do with anyone else; it is solely your own doing!”

”What own doing, if not because of your mistress!” Wang Xuan slammed his fist on the table angrily and said, ”Fine! Fine! I want to see just how long you two can be happy together. Mu Qingrong, remember this, the humiliation I suffer today, I will one day repay you double!”

Enraged to the point of shaking, Mu Qingrong shouted, ”Get out!”

”I’ll be back, I’ll make you two kneel before me, regretful and weeping!” Wang Xuan stormed out of the office, shooting Ye Qing a venomous glance, ”You’ve got nerve; we’ll just wait and see!”

Wang Xuan went straight to his own desk and shouted angrily at Cheng Feilong, who was sitting there, ”Pack up my things!”

Cheng Feilong immediately got up to help him, while Mu Qingrong exited his office and announced loudly, ”I declare that Wang Xuan, Manager of the Business Department, is no longer an employee of Yunchi Company as of now. His business will be temporarily handled by me. For matters regarding the Business Department, you can report directly to me!”

”What?” A chorus of surprised voices echoed through the company, mixed with some excited cheers. Wang Xuan was indeed very unpopular at the company.

Hearing the cheers, Wang Xuan’s face turned green. He spun around to look at Mu Qingrong, ”Talk about a bird done in by the bow it evaded. Mu surname, you just wait, I’ll make you regret this!”

Mu Qingrong couldn’t be bothered with him and went straight back to his own office.

”What are you looking at?” Wang Xuan bellowed at the crowd, then turned to Cheng Feilong, who had stopped packing, and said angrily, ”Who told you to stop, finish packing my things!”

Cheng Feilong languidly sat back in his chair, cradling his head with his hands, and mocked, ”Wang Xuan, you’re no longer part of Yunchi Company. Please don’t order me around anymore!”

”You!” Wang Xuan was nearly exploding with fury, pointing at Cheng Feilong as he gasped for breath, then burst out, ”Fine! Fine! Fine! A tiger brought low by dogs is indeed a sight. Cheng Feilong, have you forgotten how I treated you when you first joined the company? Don’t you forget who it was that took you out for business, who taught you the company’s operations hands-on!”

”Of course, I haven’t forgotten, I remember it very well,” Cheng Feilong replied coldly, ”From a business deal, I could get an eight percent commission; half of it had to go to you. Every day following you, I was like your servant, always doing things for you, any kind of work fell to me. Wang Xuan, I’ve put up with you for a long time. Tidy your own stuff!”

With that, Cheng Feilong pushed the half-organized items on Wang Xuan’s desk onto the floor with a swoop and gave Wang Xuan a defiant glance.

Wang Xuan was furiously livid, roaring, ”Cheng Feilong, I’m giving you one minute to pick everything up.”

Cheng Feilong sneered, ”I’m also giving you one minute to pick everything up. If you do not, I’ll clean it up into the trash!”

Wang Xuan was nearly driven mad with rage, his fists clenched as he tried to speak. At that moment, Ye Qing walked over, bent down to pick up the items one by one from the floor, and placed them in front of Wang Xuan.
