Urban Martial Saint

The people who arrived were five middle-aged individuals, two men and three women, accompanied by a nurse. The one who had just spoken was a middle-aged woman with triangular eyes.

The nurse, following behind, heard the woman’s words and immediately said anxiously, ”I didn’t say he was the driver involved in the accident; I said he was the one who brought the victim in, and he called the ambulance. You mustn’t wrongly accuse an innocent person!”

”It was him,” snarled the woman with triangular eyes as she glared at Ye Qing, ”if he wasn’t the driver, why would he call for an ambulance? If he wasn’t the driver, why would he bring the person to the hospital? He definitely hit him!”

”No doubt about it, it’s definitely him!” another woman chimed in.

”You turned my son into such a state; I’ll fight you for this!” The third woman was even more ferocious, crying out as she lunged towards Ye Qing, trying to scratch and hit him.

Ye Qing hurriedly backed away; he had already gleaned the intentions of these people from their conversation.

”Auntie, I really didn’t hit him; I’m also a victim!” Ye Qing said earnestly.

”You’re still trying to lie at this time? If it wasn’t you who hit him, then who? If it wasn’t you, why bring the person to the hospital?” the middle-aged woman clamored, grabbing hold of Ye Qing’s clothes and refusing to let go.

Mu Qingrong rose from the bed and said, ”Auntie, it really wasn’t him. He doesn’t even know how to drive, he’s never driven a car!”

”Oh, no driver’s license, driving without a license, that’s an even bigger crime. Call the police, call the police!” Triangular Eyes shouted loudly, seemingly smug for having caught Ye Qing in what she thought was a misdeed.

Mu Qingrong hurried over and said, ”Auntie, I mean he didn’t drive; truly, it wasn’t him; you’re accusing an innocent person.”

Triangular Eyes glared at Mu Qingrong and said, ”Why are you talking so much, as if you were there when it happened? What do you know?”

”I was indeed there at the time; I know who the driver responsible for the accident is,” Mu Qingrong retorted.

A middle-aged man standing behind them said coldly, ”What do you mean you know who the driver was? Let me tell you, my son saw with his own eyes that it was you who hit!”

”Damn it, why bother talking with someone like this! My daughter was just walking along and hadn’t provoked you; how could you have hit her like this!” Another middle-aged man grew increasingly angry as he reached out and grabbed Ye Qing’s collar, attempting to slap Ye Qing.

Mu Qingrong tried to step in front of Ye Qing, but was seized by the woman with triangular eyes who then clawed at Mu Qingrong’s face.

Mu Qingrong jumped in shock; this middle-aged woman’s attack was vicious indeed. She hastily shielded her face with her arms, narrowly avoiding having her face disfigured; however, she was still scratched on the arms by the long nails of Triangular Eyes.

On the other side, Ye Qing dodged the slap from the middle-aged man and said urgently, ”It really wasn’t me; I can take you to the driver responsible for the accident. This really has nothing to do with me!”

”Enough of your rubbish! My son saw that it was you; what else do you have to say!” Another middle-aged man approached and kicked towards Ye Qing’s waist.

Ye Qing was extremely frustrated; these people were truly unreasonable. The two people he had saved last night had now, in a turn of events, made him the suspect. What was wrong with this society?

Ye Qing avoided the kick, stepped back, and said, ”If you really think your son was hit by me, then fine, let’s call the police and let them sort this out!”

”Call the police? You think I’m afraid of you?” the woman with triangular eyes took out her phone, dialed a string of numbers, and stood at the door, boasting, ”Third Brother, Third Brother, it’s your elder sister. Doing what? Your nephew was nearly killed in a car accident and is lying in the hospital right now. Aren’t you going to come and see?

Let me tell you, the driver who caused the accident has quite the temper. He dared to hit your brother-in-law. You’d better come quickly, or your sister might get hit too!”

Ye Qing was flabbergasted; this Triangular Eyes was really brazenly unreasonable. Since these people had entered, it had been them attacking him while he had been constantly dodging; when had he ever struck back?

”So you want to call the police, do you?” Triangular Eyes held her phone, looking smugly at Ye Qing, and said, ”Fine, the police will be here soon. You think I’m easy to bully? My family’s Third Brother manages this area. You’re threatening me with calling the police? Third Brother isn’t known for his good temper either. Just wait till he arrives; you might as well be waiting for death!”

”Why can’t you be reasonable!” Mu Qingrong exclaimed indignantly, ”He’s the one who saved your children. Even if you aren’t grateful to him, you shouldn’t bite the hand that helped you!”

”You little slut, wanna cause trouble? Go back home and do that,” Triangular Eyes pointed at Mu Qingrong, raging, ”Keep running your mouth, and I’ll have my Third Brother knock all your teeth out!”

Ye Qing frowned; he had been accommodating to these five people, but it now seemed that restraint would not solve the problem. It was clear these people were intent on framing him, trying to extract money from him. Without finding someone to resolve the situation, this was going to be difficult to deal with.

Ye Qing pulled out his phone, ready to call Zhao Chengshuang. Before he could even dial, Triangular Eyes suddenly shouted, ”What? You dare to call for backup?”

The nearby middle-aged man came over immediately, reaching for Ye Qing’s head and cursing, ”I’ll show you to call for help! You have the face to call for backup after hitting someone? Think I’m easy to push over? I’ll have you know, I work for the district government. Do you believe I can get someone to end you?”

Ye Qing cast a glance at the middle-aged man, thinking how could there be someone so unreasonable working for the district government?

”Director Mu, call Zhao Chengshuang!” Evading the middle-aged man, Ye Qing tossed his phone to Mu Qingrong.

Mu Qingrong took the phone and stepped back a few paces to dial, but Triangular Eyes, already leading two women with bared teeth and claws, pounced to snatch the phone from her hand.

Mu Qingrong was startled and hastily stepped back. Ye Qing saw that the situation was wrong and immediately went to block the three people led by Triangular Eyes. Triangular Eyes was fierce, reaching out and scratching Ye Qing’s face, directly leaving three bloody marks on his face.

To tell the truth, even if someone kicked and punched him a few times, Ye Qing didn’t feel much. But being scratched on the face was a different matter.

He held back the fury in his heart and looked at the five imposing figures before him, saying in a deep voice, ”Enough, if you keep hitting, I will have to fight back!”

”Fight back? You dare to fight back? I’d like to see how you’ll fight back!” Two middle-aged men charged at him, lifting their feet to kick Ye Qing.

Ye Qing frowned and suddenly scooped up both of their legs into his arms with his right hand. With a push, the two men lost their balance and fell to the ground.

”You dare to hit my husband, I’ll fight you to the death!” Triangular Eyes roared, charging at him like a tigress, ready to claw at Ye Qing’s face again.

Ye Qing grabbed her wrist and applied a little force, and Triangular Eyes immediately let out a scream of pain as her wrist became immobile.

”Help, quickly, help!” Triangular Eyes gestured to the two women behind her.

One bold woman came straight at him, and Ye Qing smoothly picked up a chair nearby, pretending to smash it at her. The woman was immediately scared into retreating, while the other woman didn’t dare approach.

Ye Qing let go, pushing Triangular Eyes back as well. Clutching her wrist, she sat on the ground wailing, ”You’ve broken my arm, I’m disabled, I’m disabled now, I’ll sue you, I’ll definitely sue you, just wait, I’ll sue you to death...”

The two middle-aged men got to their feet but didn’t dare come any closer, just standing by the doorway glaring maliciously at Ye Qing. Their venomous looks seemed as if they were contemplating how to deal with him.

The nurse stood at the door, gaping at the scene and feeling relieved that she had not intervened or tried to stop it. This situation was clearly beyond her ability to handle.

After ten minutes, a few men in police uniforms rushed over. The leader also had triangular eyes, looking very similar to that Triangular Eyes woman, probably the Third Brother she had mentioned.

Third Brother entered the room and was stunned for a moment when he saw the situation. He hurried over to help the Triangular Eyes woman up, asking, ”Sis, what happened, what’s going on?”

Seeing her brother had arrived, the sobbing of Triangular Eyes woman grew louder, ”Aiyo, I can’t live anymore, I’m so old and still being bullied like this, how can I face anyone from now on. Third Brother, my hand is broken, I can’t live, you must take care of your nephew from now on.”

Third Brother was furious and demanded, ”Who did this? Who bullied you?”

”It was him!” Triangular Eyes woman’s husband pointed at Ye Qing and shouted loudly, ”He injured your nephew, refused to admit it, and even physically assaulted people!”

Without any hesitation, Third Brother stood up, walked over to Ye Qing, and raised his hand to slap Ye Qing’s face, ”You dared to hit my sister!”

Ye Qing slightly raised his eyebrows and easily caught Third Brother’s wrist with his right hand. Third Brother’s hand was caught as if in a vise, completely immovable.

Third Brother was taken aback for a moment, then grew even angrier, saying, ”What are you doing? I’m a police officer, are you trying to attack a police officer?”

Ye Qing’s expression changed, he had heard this phrase often enough the night before. Could it be that all these police officers liked to say this? Did they all like to use their authority as officers to bully others?

Ye Qing said in a stern voice, ”I’m not planning on attacking an officer, but you’re a police officer, not some street thug, what gives you the right to hit people?”

”By what right? Just because I damn well please!” Third Brother said and kneed Ye Qing in the groin.

Ye Qing, already feeling irritated, saw Third Brother’s underhanded move and became even angrier. Without showing any courtesy, he smashed his left elbow down, hitting Third Brother right on the knee.

”Ah!” Third Brother screamed in agony, the pain of that elbow to the knee was unbearable indeed. It landed directly on bone, a sensation even more unbearable than a hefty blow to a fleshier part of the body.

”What are you looking at? Help me!” Third Brother turned and roared at the other police officers outside.

The officers immediately ran in, surrounding Ye Qing in a fan shape, and Third Brother shouted, ”Beat him!”

The officers charged at once, and Ye Qing furrowed his brows, knowing it was impossible not to fight back now. He didn’t hold back and quickly knocked down all the officers with a few punches and kicks, then glared at Third Brother and said, ”Have you had enough? You’re a police officer, not a gangster. Can’t you ask what happened before taking action?”

”I ask your mother, what’s there to say when you attack police?” Third Brother pulled out a gun from his waist and aimed it at Ye Qing, snarling, ”I’ll shoot you dead!”
