My Alleged Husband

Chapter 2341: Chapter 2174: More or Less Everyone Has It

Personal experiences are always hard to forget, especially when one has been hurt.

Zhang Yichen was shocked when he heard his father say those words. He had never realized how much his parents loved him to such an extent. He never imagined that his parents, who always wished he could return home, chose to leave here for his sake. This deeply shocked him!

At this moment, Zhang Yichen suddenly felt that if he continued to avoid acknowledging his father, what kind of harm would that do to them? A parent who chooses to leave because of their child’s departure must love that child deeply. If that’s the case, what reason does he have not to forgive his parents? Pity the hearts of parents worldwide, who doesn’t know how to love their children?

”Dad, you should let her move back. Whether I return or not doesn’t matter. I don’t want her to leave because of me; that would make me feel guilty.” Zhang Yichen said to Zhang Zhentian.

Zhang Zhentian was stunned. What did his son call him? Was there something wrong with his hearing? He couldn’t believe what he had heard and repeatedly asked his son, ”Child, what did you just do? Did I hear wrong?”

”No, you didn’t hear wrong. I called you Dad!”

”Dad doesn’t understand. You haven’t acknowledged me for so long. Why did you choose to acknowledge me now? Is there another reason, or are you joking with me?” Zhang Zhentian couldn’t believe this moment came so suddenly. It was something he waited and dreamed for many years, and finally, it happened, causing him to be extremely excited.

”To be honest, on the day you returned here, I was prepared for the day I would acknowledge you. I just didn’t expect this day to come after so many events. I always hoped my parents would be by my side; it’s something every child hopes for. But because of what Mom did, I felt deeply disappointed. Every time I tried to forgive you, she would always go to great lengths to threaten my girlfriend. That is intolerable to me. You don’t know my girlfriend; in her heart, Zhihan always saw you as her future family. But in your hearts, you always saw Zhihan as the culprit of our family’s discord. You never considered anything from Zhihan’s perspective. You repeatedly spoke harshly to Zhihan, yet she always urged me to forgive you. This is something ordinary girls cannot do; those rich daughters can’t do this. But my simple girlfriend did it. Isn’t that a wonderful thing? Yet why can’t you see her good side and always target her? Your targeting her only leads to my estrangement from you!” Zhang Yichen explained his reasons for suddenly acknowledging Zhang Zhentian today.

At this moment, Zhang Zhentian didn’t know whether to be happy or sad. His son had acknowledged him, but his wife had already left here for the United States, planning to act against his girlfriend. If his son found out about this, would the bond and trust he worked so hard to rebuild be shattered, leaving everything to fail?

”Yichen, Dad wants to ask you something. Since you acknowledged me, can you also acknowledge your mother? You should know that your mom means no harm; she just loves you too much. Maybe her love for you is too extreme, but that love is still for her son, and it’s not her fault...”

”Dad, I’m not sure how to say this to you, but I know very well in my heart that everything she does is out of love for me. But regardless, even if it’s love, it shouldn’t go this far. Time and again, she threatens my girlfriend, forcing her to leave me. Is that supposed to be good for me? I can’t deny that she loves me, but I’m unsure if she truly loves me. A parent who genuinely loves their child would only want to see their child happy and smiling. As long as their child is happy every day, nothing else would matter to such a parent. But why is it completely opposite in her heart? What exactly does she care about?

Zhang Zhentian sensed his son’s meaning; it seemed he still didn’t plan to forgive his mother. If that’s the case, what significance does recognizing him hold? Wouldn’t he still be separated from his wife?

”If you know in your heart that your mom means no harm, then why not forgive her? Let her move back so our family can be more harmonious. Once that happens, your mom wouldn’t bother your girlfriend anymore. Why not make it happen?”

Zhang Yichen felt his father’s words weren’t so simple, or maybe he was too perceptive. He thought about it and loudly told his dad, ”Clarify what you mean by ’let her move back, and she won’t bother my girlfriend anymore.’ What does that mean? Does it mean if I don’t let her move back, she’ll continue to trouble the one I love?”

When Zhang Zhentian heard his son’s question, he realized he misspoke. But what could he say? He had no choice but to explain his wife’s actions. But is explaining useful? His son had just forgiven him, and now his wife’s actions were once again exposed in front of his son. This would deal such a blow to him, making him more disheartened!

”Son, listen to Dad. This isn’t as you imagine. Your mom just went to the United States to have a good talk with your girlfriend, hoping she will return to you and not break up. That’s her purpose for going to the United States. Meanwhile, she hopes after she leaves, you can move back to take care of Grandpa. Can you understand your mom’s good intentions?” Zhang Zhentian himself found it hard to believe his own words, let alone Zhang Yichen with his intelligence.

”This isn’t as you said it is, is it? There’s no need to try to hide it from me. Don’t forget how well I know you. You shouldn’t forget how excessive the past actions were. Do you still refuse to change? It’s truly that habits are hard to change. Time and again you troubled Zhihan; what do you want from us? You already returned, so why do this? Zhihan has already completely broken off with me, but you still want to trouble her. How am I supposed to bear this? In the eyes of others, what would I become? Wouldn’t they call me a coward, someone who can’t protect his girlfriend, letting his parents trouble her over and over? Are these words truly pleasant to you? Why won’t you think about things from my perspective? I let you move back not because I don’t want to forgive you but to give you a chance. Why do you always let these chances pass by? This time, I truly can’t forgive her anymore; she’s gone too far. She never needs to come back. If I find out she troubles my girlfriend again, I’ll consider her no mother of mine!”

After Zhang Yichen finished speaking, he angrily hung up the phone!

Perhaps no one can easily forget the harm they’ve suffered.
