My Alleged Husband

Chapter 2302: Chapter 2135: Retreat

You never back down, even in the face of raging flames. Actually, I know you are as ordinary as me.

Xiao Wei and the others still don’t know about their sister’s appearance. He thinks he should be living happily now, but how would he think that during this period of time, his sister has encountered so many accidents, one after another, leading to her now being completely deranged, unable to distinguish right from wrong, even eating has become the greatest difficulty. If he knew, he might feel deep pain inside, because she is his sister who has depended on him for so many years.

He has always wanted to return home to accompany his sister, to see how she is doing now, but he has always been tied down by his wife. He cannot disappoint her; he knows his wife’s expectations of him.

Previously, he could live as he pleased without caring, but now he can’t do that because he has his own family and responsibilities he should take on. He should change for his family; living recklessly as he did before doing whatever he wanted would only result in distancing his loved ones further and further. All he wants is for his loved ones to always stay by his side. Perhaps this is the most precious thing that every person who has started a family hopes to have!

”Now you come to tell me it’s my fault that Mom is like this now? Even if I really have something to do, can’t I leave for a little while? I admit that this was my oversight, my carelessness just now; I didn’t expect my mom to suddenly become like this, and isn’t this also a kind of pain for me? I never imagined this situation, that I would have to guard her like this all the time. If she were awake, she would find it an enormous pain. She’s never suffered such anguish, and now she has to bear all of it alone. This is something each of us together brought to him.

Do you have your things to do? I know you care about your career and this family, but don’t I care? He’s my own mother, and no matter the time or place, I hope for him to be healthier than anyone else, and I wish more than anyone for him to be safe. But there are things I really can’t control. Everything I do just leads to agony again and again, and no one has ever cared about my inner thoughts. I have paid everything again and again, but for what? You haven’t even told your uncle about this matter. Are you afraid he’ll come back to accuse you?

If your sister knew, because of the matter with mom, you chose to drive grandma out of the house, do you think your uncle would agree? Will he continue to trust you?

Actually, you understand more than anyone else that you need your uncle’s trust because he holds significant power. Even though he left the mafia years ago, he still has connections with those people, and his network is still strong. You are afraid of offending him again and again; you don’t dare to personally drive your mom out of the house, considering you now, yet you want to push all the blame onto me. I won’t foolishly take all the blame for you.

As for my grandma here, I think you should communicate with them properly. Regardless of their motivations for returning to this home, since they chose to come back, they should stay peacefully in this home. Don’t consider creating more trouble; doing so brings only harm, not benefits. Don’t hurt everyone completely, only to realize regret afterward. No one will have any tolerance after making every mistake; everyone has their own matters to attend to. They should pay a heavy price for their actions.

Even if I’m not sure how my mother became like this today, whether it’s related to them or not, even if there’s no direct relation, there’s still an indirect one. If not for their return, how could my mom have been neglected? Through the years, how my mom has treated you, don’t you know deep inside your heart? You’ve betrayed my mom’s trust in you, putting her in the most awkward situation, leaving her with no way to interact with you, causing her gradual isolation.”

”Even if the so-called problems you mentioned are all solely my issues, should you not reflect on whether there truly are no issues deep inside you? She’s your mother; she’s merely my wife. I have my own job, and I should take care of her, understand her, accompany her, not neglect her. But you, you’re her son, born after ten grueling months of pregnancy, and as her descendant, you can’t always accompany your mom. How can you expect me to do what you can’t?

Don’t you have to eat? Doesn’t your grandpa need to return to this home to enjoy some comfort? Doesn’t great-grandpa hope we can have our own careers and shine? Everyone’s expectations differ for every person, just like my expectations for you. As long as you’re happy, even if you achieve nothing, I’m still happy. I’m still willing; I’m willing to give you all the wealth so you can live without worries about food or clothing. Would you accept life that way?

You definitely wouldn’t accept it, because such a life is puppet-like, merely receiving others’ disdain. You wouldn’t want such a life; more so, neither would I. The pressure I endure isn’t less than yours. Why would you let me bear the agony I’ve suffered once before, let me experience daily disdain? Am I a useless person, discarded by my parents?

Can we both consider from each other’s perspectives? If you find this depressing, perhaps we can take shifts. When one is on duty watching your mom, that person must not leave for any reason whatsoever. Even if the sky falls, they must remain by her side. If you can achieve this, I will accept your suggestion without complaint. I will stay here and guard her. But I can’t possibly guard her every day while you handle your matters while my company, my several thousand employees, don’t need to eat, while my company doesn’t need operation, while all my money falls from the sky into my pocket?”

Youth is like a flame!
