My Alleged Husband

Chapter 2303: Chapter 2136: Devoured

You and I are just ordinary people, but you’ve been through so much.

”Since you already know that I’ve spoken to this extent, you should consider carefully what should be done. Don’t make me continue saying unpleasant things; it won’t end well for either of us. Let’s give each other a little face, don’t speak in absolutes, and don’t let things get awkward.

Mom, deep down you know better than anyone how much I long for you to come back to this home. I don’t want the slightest issue to make you leave this family. You should think about what your departure means. Your leaving means you’ve abandoned me again, you’ve taken my father away again, and because of you, everyone in this house loses two loved ones. Because of you, everyone endures twice the pain. Have you thought about what your actions truly represent? Don’t act recklessly again and again, focusing all joy on yourself while letting others bear the pain. That way of thinking is wrong.

No matter what happens, I won’t blame you, nor will I investigate who is responsible for your decisions. I know that deep down, everyone is good. You are kind people, and the reason you hurt me again and again is just that you can’t comprehend the pain deep inside. Be happy, and remember at all times and places that I’m always your son. Even if you can only watch me from afar in this life and never embrace me, I am still your child. I will always hold a place for you in my heart. You are my parents, but I sincerely beg you to try to understand my difficulties from my perspective, okay? I’m living too hard, living on the edge every day. Have you really thought about how much I’m suffering?”

Xia Jing was left speechless by Zhang Yichen.

This is her biological son, the first time her son has spoken to her like this. Should she really abandon him again? Is everything she’s done really right? If the right thing always avoids criticism, but if she’s wrong, then it only proves that her actions haven’t achieved everyone’s goal. Everyone has their own path, but is the path she took right or wrong? It is only by hurting everyone with her actions that she transforms into someone unrecognizable.

”Child, I’m sorry, I was too selfish, and my lack of consideration has turned things into this situation. Whatever happens, I don’t want this awkwardness to continue. If it does, I’ll have no face to face you. You’re my son, and every word you say, I as a mother take as advice because your words have merit. I don’t want us to quarrel over anything. Could we both find a bit of happiness, a bit of joy?

Quickly go to the hospital to take care of your wife. Don’t let my affairs delay her matters, or I’ll only feel deep guilt and remorse. I’ll never take pleasure in my actions again. From the moment I stepped into this house, I felt the warmth of family. I’m grateful to you for giving me this opportunity. I won’t choose to leave now; I won’t step out of this house again in this lifetime.

Even if I suffer in this house, endure taunts, cold shoulders, and disdain, I will steadfastly remain. Not for wealth, not for family, but for you, for my son, to prevent my son from being hurt repeatedly, to spare you from ridicule, to let you truly experience the joy of having a family gathered together.

That feeling, you aren’t the only one who’s looked forward to it for years; I’ve anticipated it too. In each hope for this conclusion, I’ve reminded myself not to admit defeat, because conceding means I’ve made mistakes that I have to stubbornly preserve my pride. But who knows that deep down, I’ve never thought this way. I’m not a cold-blooded woman without feelings. I’m a living person; I’m your mother. I have maternal love; I have moments where my motherly nature shines.”

”No matter whether what you’ve said today is true or false, I’m deeply moved. Thank you so much, Mom. There’s something I’ve never said to anyone before; today I want to tell you, I love you, Mom. Over the years, I’ve been lonely even with Grandpa’s company, because deep in my heart, I’m lonely. He’s my grandpa, but he can never replace the position of my parents in my heart. He can’t give me all the love my parents couldn’t. That feeling is different. Now that I’ve heard your words, I’m genuinely happy and excited. You’ve given me a different feeling, letting me regain my life’s most important goal.

When my wife is discharged, I will host a grand banquet and introduce you to all our friends and family. I’ll let everyone know my parents didn’t abandon me but went on a journey. After all these years, they’re back, not heartless or indifferent. My parents love me; they’ve kept all the beautiful things for me, giving me the most grand and deep love in this lifetime!”

Zhang Yichen quickly left after he finished speaking. He couldn’t stay home too long; his wife in the hospital needed his care. Though his friends were helping look after her, nothing compared to the care he could give as her husband. He should always be by her side, never leaving her. His family is now whole again, and so what if his career might decline? He’s gained the family he’s longed for all his life.

Every moment of heart-stopping fear, every time swallowed whole, and yet you’re equally powerless!
