My Alleged Husband

Chapter 2326: Chapter 2159: Feelings

”Grandfather, do you think we have any chance of reuniting?”

”Hang on, can you tell grandfather who asked you to come and inquire about your grandma and me tonight? If it’s your father, then go back and tell him that if he doesn’t believe everything we say to him, then he shouldn’t ask us the reasons anymore. If your great-grandfather sent you to ask us, please also tell him that some things cannot be explained with a few words, and hopefully, they won’t persist in pursuing this matter. Holding onto it repeatedly isn’t beneficial.

Child, from your attitude, I can see that whatever your grandma and I do, you don’t consider us as part of your family. What we did has truly disappointed you. But do you know how much effort we’ve put in over the years just to return to this family? Maybe others can’t see it, but can’t you? Don’t you know what I truly want? We’ve made so many sacrifices time and again, for what ultimate purpose? Do you think we did all this to be hurt by you over and over?

I know we wronged you initially, but I’ve changed now. I’ve paid a heavy price for everything I did wrong. Why do you still hold onto these things?

Like you said, you want to live a stable and peaceful life, don’t I want the same? I am also human, with feelings, with emotions. I want to contribute to the family, but have you ever considered how I feel?

If you were repeatedly hit with such criticisms, if people you called family kept doubting you, not believing anything you said, how would you feel? Would your inner world really be okay?

Why can’t we share our thoughts, understand each other’s feelings? I know you expressed your feelings through your words today. But what about us? Are our hearts not heavy, not moved?

You think we parents are too selfish, we as grandparents don’t care about your feelings. What about what you say, what you do? Have you considered our dignity? Do you consistently belittle our self-esteem? Is our self-worth really so insignificant in your eyes? I want a peaceful life where everyone is happy, and I hope to bring joy to everyone. I don’t want to leave you with only painful memories. Why would you destroy even this smallest request?

No matter what, the blood in your veins is the same, it is mine. Your father’s blood is mine, he is my flesh and blood, and you are his child. Aren’t you carrying my blood too? Why do you think as you do? Have you never considered that your thoughts might be wrong? It’s not you being hurt repeatedly, it’s me. I’m part of this family. Have you ever considered treating us as family? Maybe you never have!”

Xia Jing knows her husband is truly saddened this time. He never speaks with tears in his eyes, but what he says today are all his heartfelt thoughts, kept silent for years. But saying them doesn’t serve any purpose, yet he’s chosen to voice them, showing he wants to gamble on his family’s hearts, to see whether they’ll treat him as family, instead of guarding against him. If they keep doing so, returning home means nothing.

”Zhentian, what’s wrong today? I know you’re uncomfortable, but you didn’t need to say these things to your child. Don’t you know how your words affect his thoughts? He’s just him, endured so much over the years, and today he finally couldn’t help but tell us everything. It wasn’t easy for him to open up to us. How could you?”

”Grandma, actually grandpa isn’t wrong, because everything he’s done is for this family. Perhaps my actions today were too emotional.

I didn’t consider your ability to handle this. I’ve focused solely on how I want life to be, forgetting the hardships you’ve borne. For years, everyone in my family talked about how you abandoned this family. So deep down, I’ve built resistance against you, not realizing my resistance would lead to this. If I caused misunderstandings or because of what I did today, then I sincerely apologize for any misunderstandings. I didn’t mean it!

But truly, I’m thankful to you. Without you, I wouldn’t have the chance to reveal my true feelings, thoughts hidden in my heart, accumulating through the years as I grew, never daring to express them, especially not to my parents.

Because whenever I mention you, they hesitate, I know they’re hurt too, so I didn’t mention my grandparents to them, didn’t talk, didn’t ask. But today, faced with you, I’ve spoken all my hidden words, truly feeling happy and relieved.

I never imagined I could live openly one day, asking questions buried deep within, feeling truly comfortable!

A happy life is what I want, but many things aren’t within my control!
