My Alleged Husband

Chapter 2328: Chapter 2161: Where Is There Nothing Left to Say

Many times, some things are not unknown to you and me; it’s just that we choose to give each other that basic respect and never talk about it.

Zhang Zhentian was not content upon hearing that his own son wanted to kick him out of the house. Why should he, as a member of this family, be forced out while his son stayed behind?

”Dad, stand up and say what’s fair. As children, should they kick their parents out of the house? Do you think that’s something a son should do? Isn’t he afraid of being laughed at by the world?” 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

Old Master Zhang, despite his dislike for his son, felt his son’s words made sense. He didn’t want his grandson to be ridiculed by the world because of his son’s actions. So he looked at his grandson and said, ”Yichen, I think your father is right. If you really kick them out of the house, you will be laughed at by the world. Your grandfather doesn’t want you to be mocked, so I hope you will think again about this. Perhaps your parents have no ill intent?”

Zhang Yichen hadn’t expected things to reach this point and was discontent with his grandfather speaking up for his deceitful parents. He unhappily responded to his grandfather, ”Grandpa, no matter what, they must leave this time. Do you not know how excessive their actions are? Time and again, they hurt me, even went so far as to completely destroy my most beloved woman... How am I supposed to swallow that anger? I’ve said before, my parents can hurt me over and over, but they cannot hurt my beloved woman. If they hurt me, it’s my choice not to protect myself. But if they harm my fiancée and I can’t protect her safety, then it only proves I’m a coward. Grandpa, you’ve taught me painstakingly for over a decade and I’ve never forgotten. I always knew you hoped for me to be a real man. So why, at this stage, do you still ask me to forgive my parents time and again? Haven’t I given them enough chances? Time and again I’ve given them a way out, but how do they repay me with one injury after another? They’ve never considered that their actions cause me unbearable pain. All they think about is their own interests, what they should get, never considering from my perspective as their son, never thinking about what I need or want. They only destroy what they don’t want and force what they desire onto me. I don’t understand if the feelings between two people can truly be destroyed by parental force. She and I have had feelings for many years, even though we haven’t lived together in the past decade. But we’ve always had each other in our hearts. Do you know? She never gave up searching for me. Maybe in my parents’ eyes, they think she wants to be with me because I’m wealthy, because I’m an economic emperor. But they never consider that she is also a simple girl with an innocent childhood. I believe I wouldn’t choose the wrong person. I know what kind of person she is; she’s no vain woman. I trust her. But my mother repeatedly hurts her, and I don’t understand how my mother can ask me to treat her with effort, knowing the pain it causes her son?”

”Child, we as parents always hope our son can live happily, never placing our interests before your lifelong happiness. Why do you think our parental love is so unworthy in your eyes?” Xia Jing said mournfully to Zhang Yichen.

Zhang Yichen smirked, feeling his mother’s acting skills were excellent, still dramatizing before him even at this moment.

”Miss Xia Jing, I’ve always considered you my mother in my heart, no matter how much you’ve hurt me. This fact has never changed. But today, your status in my heart has fallen from heaven to hell, as your image has been utterly destroyed by you. You hurt me so deeply in the past, and I always consoled myself that you had to abandon me due to unavoidable reasons. No matter the reason for your leaving, I could forgive you. But today, I can’t do it anymore. The harm you’ve caused is too great; this is about my lifelong happiness. How could you do such a thing? Even if you strongly disapprove of our marriage, you didn’t need to push her off a cliff. She’s human, born and raised by parents. Pushing her off a cliff would cause her parents unimaginable pain. If even a hint of harm came to me as your son, you’d feel distressed. So why can’t you consider things from the perspective of others’ parents? You hurt someone else’s daughter; don’t you think other parents would be heartbroken? Others are living beings of flesh and blood, and in your eyes, is a living person still less valuable than your satisfaction? Over the years, I truly hated you, detested you. When you returned, I wanted you out of the house, fearful of the harm I’d face because you returned. Had I foreseen your return would bring such harm, I would’ve left no stone unturned to prevent your return. Then the woman I love could still be by my side, and we could happily chat. But your sudden appearance destroyed everything beautiful. Do you seriously feel zero guilt over this?

Speechless by Zhang Yichen’s confrontations, Xia Jing knew about the gravity of her wrongdoings. She chose to avoid her missteps, only remembering her correct actions.

”Since you’ve spoken this way, I can’t train you anymore. But remember, if you continue seeing her, her death will come quicker, as your closeness invites it. Don’t doubt my words’ truthfulness, for I swear, whatever I say, I can accomplish, even if it means utmost destruction. I won’t let my son suffer any harm.”

After finishing, Xia Jing left, leaving Zhang Yichen startled by his mother’s words.

Perhaps many things seem inconsequential to you, but to me, all I want is for you to return to my side.
