My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1752: Chapter 1546: That Person

I once earnestly loved that person, but now the one I love most is no longer by my side; she has disappeared.

When Xia Jingyi heard his son say he never wanted to find him again, his heart shattered at once. No matter what, he couldn’t accept his son not wanting him, even though he had made so many mistakes. He still hoped his son would call him ”Mom,” would call him anytime, anywhere—even just one word would fill him with joy. But if it was truly because of his own reasons that led his son to sever all ties with him, to become strangers when they meet in the future, then how could he bear such a deep blow in his heart?

”Son, did you really say all these things to Mom because I won’t reconcile with your dad for your sake? Do you really think this is fair to your mom? What I want isn’t much; I just hope my son and my husband can love me a bit more. Your dad doesn’t have love for me now; you are already grown up and should understand that a marriage without love can’t be happy. He doesn’t have me in his eyes, no love for me—how could he possibly give me happiness? Being together every day will only cause indelible pain and torment for each other. Do you really have the heart to see your parents torturing each other every day just because of you? Do you really want to see the people who love you become numb and indifferent every day because of you? Actually, Mom knows in her heart that you’re a good child, but your love for mom and dad is useless. It’s the wrong place; mom and dad don’t love you less, but love you too deeply. You know, Mom really has no way back now; the day your dad asked for a divorce was when this outcome was destined. Can’t you understand? If the person you love the most suddenly asks you for a divorce, what would you think in your heart? You’ve only lost your wife for a few days, and your heart can’t bear the longing. But me? I have to endure my husband abandoning me, enduring the sudden change in front of me. How should my heart feel? Actually, people all have empathy; they are emotional beings. Why force things they don’t want on others? Do not do unto others what you don’t want others to do unto you. Doing so doesn’t benefit anyone! Mom knows it’s hard for you to accept what I’m saying now, but one day you’ll understand that mom and dad’s divorce wasn’t because of you, but because the trust between your dad and Mom as a couple was gone, the mutual love as a couple was gone; even the courage to go on together forever was gone.”

”Don’t talk to me about all these principles; I don’t understand! I just want to know if you’re willing to sacrifice a bit for me, to continue on with my dad, just to give me a complete family—or to fill the void in my heart for the parental love I’ve lacked for these past ten years!”

Xia Jing sighed long and hard; this was something he couldn’t do, because his husband had already moved in a completely different direction from him, never to be on the same path again in this lifetime.

”Son, I’m sorry. I can’t give you any guarantee on this. Since your dad and I have chosen to divorce, there will be no turning back. If it was going to turn back, I would have agreed when he first came to find me, but I didn’t because I want to live for myself, I want to live for my son. I don’t hope you want me to make up for the lack of motherly love these ten years, just to keep living together with your dad hand in hand; doing so would only make both your dad and me very pained. Actually, you see things clearly; you just don’t want to say it in your heart. You want to deceive yourself and prove it’s all not true. But is it really useful? No matter what happens between Mom and Dad, I hope you won’t let it affect your trust and love with your wife. Mom knows how much you love your wife and how much your wife loves you. You can go through anything for each other, even disregarding your own life. Love like yours makes mom and Dad very happy now, especially mom. Mom can’t love like you so recklessly anymore because continuing to do so won’t give any good result. Mom is slowly aging while you are in your prime. You should have your life rather than constantly having conflicts because of your parents. No matter what your wife says or does, I hope you can give her a few more chances. This time, it’s not your wife’s fault but yours. You shouldn’t hide anything from her. Once there is no honesty between a couple, their relationship will slowly come to an end. Honesty is a way of interaction between a couple. Mom has said enough; I hope you understand mom’s intention. Your wife should have already looked for you. Why not just go down the stairs like this? Why persist in your so-called pride so blindly? Doing so will hurt both of you...”

”I said it already; don’t interfere with my business. I also said, since you aren’t willing to live hand in hand with my dad for me, then we’re strangers from now on. Whether we meet or not, we’re like strangers. Neither of us should tell others we know each other, let alone mention that we are mother and son, because that only makes me feel a deep pain in my heart. Watching my mom abandon me step by step, seeing my dad dump my mom because of me; how can I bear this? I believe my mom and dad don’t want their precious son to suffer such pain again, right? I really don’t understand what you’re so cruel for; why must you hurt me like this and only be satisfied when I’m completely wounded? Must you see me unable to wake up again and be satisfied? Must you watch me become numb and indifferent step by step and be satisfied? Must I become ruthless to my family step by step for your hearts to be happy? I don’t want to say more to you; I have things to do, so that’s it!”

Zhang Yichen hung up the phone after speaking; he didn’t want to say another word to his mom. He felt doing so would make his heart more pained. Although she’s his biological mom, the pain she caused felt more than from a stepmother. How could he accept it?

Hearing the phone hang up, Xia Jing knew her son was truly angry.

Similarly, I also hated a person, and ultimately, it was a person who made me like this.
