My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1751: Chapter 1545: Starting Over

Back when I watched my parents lying in the hospital undergoing rescue, at that moment I really wished everything could start over...

Zhang Yichen saw that it was his grandfather calling him, and he could hardly believe it. His grandfather would never call him while he was at work; what was happening today?

”Grandpa, you’ve never called me while I’m at work before; what’s going on today? Why would you suddenly call me while I’m working? Could it be that you’ve made something delicious at home and want me and my wife to hurry back for dinner?”

Zhang Yichen thought that Old Master Zhang was calling him to come home for dinner, because in his grandfather’s view, work was a very serious occupation, and no matter what, he should not be disturbed during work. But why was today an exception?

”Child, stop joking with Grandpa. Your parents are currently in the hospital undergoing rescue. They were in a car accident, and it was too serious for me to explain it all at once. You should hurry to the hospital to have a look, okay?

Your grandpa is already at the hospital waiting, but I’ve been here for so long without any news, and I’m a bit worried. You should come quickly; after all, they are your parents. No matter what, they gave you life.”

Zhang Yichen was bewildered, what happened?

How could it be that just after arriving at work, within a few hours, he heard his parents had been in a severe car accident?

It seemed his grandfather was extremely anxious, so he should hurry to see him, lest he worries himself sick.

”Grandpa, don’t worry, I’m on my way. You just wait for me calmly at the hospital. I believe my parents will be okay.” Although Zhang Yichen told his grandfather not to worry, deep down he was very concerned about his parents. He feared losing them, which would be a lifelong pain for him.

”Alright, come quickly. I’m waiting for you at the hospital, and I’m not going anywhere. My son is now in the rescue room. As a father, how could I leave him? If I step away, even a little, I’ll feel anxious. I’m truly afraid of bad news coming out; what would I do then?”

After Zhang Yichen hung up the phone, he rushed to his grandfather. He felt that no matter what he should go and see his parents, still in the rescue room. At times like this, how could a son continue to work at ease? To keep his company running smoothly, to handle a few more documents, why would he disregard his parents’ lives?

He isn’t that kind of person; under no circumstances could he do such a thing. If he had to choose between work and his parents, he would undoubtedly choose his parents. Without parents, there would be no him. If work is lost, he can rebuild step by step. Since he was able to create his current achievements through hard work, why couldn’t he achieve brilliance again?

On the way to the hospital, Zhang Yichen thought that no matter what, he should call his wife.

When Ran Zhihan received the call from Zhang Yichen, she could hardly believe it deep down. How could this be true?

It had been over ten days, even a month had passed, with barely any conversation between her and her husband. Was the sun really rising from the west today? Her husband actually chose to call her.

”Yichen, why did you suddenly think of calling me today? We haven’t had a peaceful conversation for several months now. Every time I try to talk to you, you always have a stern face.

I thought you would never speak to me again in this lifetime. But to my surprise, you’re actively reaching out to chat and talk with me now. It’s hard for me to believe it, receiving your call feels like I’m dreaming. In my dreams, I’ve repeatedly dreamt of you calling me, but in reality, you wouldn’t say a word to me. The gap between reality and dreams is so vast, I’m overwhelmed...”

”Enough, stop talking nonsense. I’m calling you for something important to tell you. Mom and Dad were in a car accident and are now in the hospital undergoing rescue. Grandpa is extremely anxious and has already gone to the hospital. Pack up quickly and head to the hospital with me.”

Ran Zhihan was bewildered at once; she didn’t know how to respond. Didn’t her parents leave the house happily this morning? Weren’t they off riding their Ferrari abroad? Why had things turned out this way? Why the sudden, severe car accident causing such casualties? They’re still in the rescue room?

”Yichen, what on earth happened? Weren’t they fine when they left this morning? How could they be out for just a short while, and now they’re in a car accident and are in the rescue room already? How are they doing now? Is it serious? Are they out of danger?”

Ran Zhihan was anxious, questions spilling out one after another, making Zhang Yichen, as a son, feel a bit embarrassed deep down. His wife was merely part of the family by marriage, yet she showed such care for his parents. Why couldn’t he show the same concern? Could it be that he was too caught up in trivial matters? Maybe those things were insignificant to them, but to him, they were major life events.

”Alright, stop with the nonsense. Hurry up. Everyone’s worried sick. Instead of babbling on, you might as well go to the hospital to comfort Grandpa!”

”Alright, alright, just wait a moment, I’ll get ready and head out right away. I have to rush to the hospital to see how serious things are. I can’t believe such a thing happened to such kind people as Mom and Dad.

I believe Heaven will watch over them. Grandpa will bless them with safety and peace. They’ve been through so much, not even able to return home all these years. That’s punishment enough. I hope Heaven will give them a chance to start anew...”

Even now, I still hope everything could start over. I don’t want things to turn out to be what I least wish to see.
