My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1725: Chapter 1519: Change

Zhang Yichen had long known that the decisions his wife made were beyond the power of anyone to change, and none of this was what he wanted.

Zhang Zhentian understood that his wife said so much only to let him give up. But how could he retreat so easily? Since he made such a decision back then, he would never regret it, no matter what. As long as he could stay by his wife’s side, even if it meant enduring all kinds of grievances, what did it matter?

Conversely, seeing his wife considering so much for him deeply moved him. He never thought he could one day share the same attitude as his wife. In the past, whatever he did caused great pain to his wife because, in her eyes, everything he did was wrong.

But today, he realized that his efforts over the years hadn’t been in vain. Those efforts weren’t unnoticed by his wife; she merely pretended not to see and silently bore everything alone. Now, she finally couldn’t hold back any longer and had to show her true feelings.

”Wife, no matter what you think, I just want to tell you, my decision will never change. Since I made that decision back then to stay by your side, I will stay by your side no matter what. Even if you try to drive me away, I won’t leave!

Over the years, we have been through so much together, relying on each other. Is there really no trace of love for me in your heart? If you don’t love me, why care about me? If you don’t love me, why worry about me getting hurt?

You just don’t dare to believe in yourself; you’re afraid to face your own heart.

Because of your ties to those people, you fear that being with me means betraying him. But do you realize how much time has passed? Even if you meet again, can you return to how things were? The past is the past, and shouldn’t you treasure the present and live a good life with me? Isn’t that more important?

If you keep clinging to the past, neither of us can truly be happy. Happiness is simple: having family by your side, living a life free from want, and being able to do what you want. That’s the ultimate happiness, and you’re the greatest happiness of my life.

Don’t think the things I’m saying are sweet but empty words. Everything I say is sincere. My desire to be with you has never changed. I have longed for the day we could be together, imagining how happy I’d be. That day has finally come, so why, after all these years, do you have to tell me such cruel facts?

Seeing me living in such sorrow, does your heart truly feel joy? You know how conflicted and pained I am, yet you resolutely tell me this outcome.

I know you told me to be honest with me, but do you know that each impulsive decision you make brings us a different outcome?”

”Yes, I hope no matter what, you stop saying those things. There is nothing between us and never could be. If one day you hope that I can truly accept you, let go of that hope. I said I would slowly try with you, and I have to admit, deep down, having you does make me conflicted.

You’re right; being with you makes me feel like I’m wronging him. But do you know how painful that torment is for me? I’m torn over and over; I don’t know the right choice. I want to live peacefully with you, but I can’t betray him!”

”Actually, from the day you married me, you were already betraying her. Why say these words now? Do you think saying these has any meaning? By doing this, can he really come back to you? Of course not!

You’re numbing yourself with lies time and again. Can someone like that truly be happy? You can see what kind of life you desire, yet you don’t know how to achieve it!

Perhaps you think my demands are too harsh, but these are my most genuine thoughts. That’s why I unreservedly share them with you!

I just want to share my truth, hoping you’ll stay by my side, sharing our desired happiness, not like before, constantly bickering and arguing over differences, which is exhausting. We can have a happy family; why complicate things so much?”

Xia Jing really didn’t know what to say. Whatever she said to her husband seemed like just arguing in vain. He always had a reason to refute her, and in his eyes, nothing she said or did was right.

Suddenly, she felt exhausted being with her husband. Everything she said was wrong. Was there any meaning to staying together as they were now? Perhaps it was better to part ways early.

Zhang Zhentian feared his wife saying words of rejection to him, so he gazed at her with longing eyes, hoping she’d leave room for maneuver, not make things so definitive. He just wanted to stay by her side, why always reject him this way? After the rejection, could he truly be happy and joyful?

Could staying by his side really make his wife feel so burdened and distressed? The repeated hurt tormented his heart.

”Even if you don’t say anything, just stay here peacefully. I want to tell you, whatever your decision is, I will support you. But at least, please respect my wishes a bit, as I also feel the pain!”

If one day I can change your decision, then you could come back to me.
