Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Earth, June 3rd, 2018, Gregorian calendar.

The first day of the first month since Battle Zone Africa was officially established.

Recorded by Harloth Chris, scribe of the Demon Tribe’s Battle Zone Africa.

Today our tribe’s Battle Zone Africa has been officially declared established. Under the wise command of Lord Legas, we launched the final assault on the rebel forces centered around New Hope Assembly Site led by Sequence Number 2, and won a complete victory! Sequence Number 2 was routed and fled.

This is the first full-scale victory our tribe has achieved in the war on Earth in recorded history. From this moment, Battle Zone Africa has officially fallen under the complete control of our tribe.

The air on Earth is great, very fresh. The whole world brims with vigorous vitality. If not for the fact that the concentration of Demonic Qi is a bit on the thin side, everything else would be practically perfect.

Today, the Chief Commanding Officer of the war zone, Lord Koray—said to be Lord Legas’s disciple—after driving off Sequence Number 2, decided on the spot to hold a grand celebration banquet.

That really captured the army’s hearts. The Humans on the banquet table were delicious. I was lucky enough to get a finger.

Mm, how should I describe the taste…

Way, way more tender than Earth star magic dragon meat… anyway, it was just plain delicious.

Right, I have to mention a big event that happened today!

Even the Berserk Demon Battalion Leader, Lord Siegle, actually attended the banquet. I even went up and toasted Lord Siegle a cup of wine!

Our ancestral graves must be spewing green smoke with luck. Heh, heh, maybe Lord Siegle will remember me?

Mm, he probably will.

First-month summary since Battle Zone Africa was officially established.

Recorded by Harloth Chris, scribe of the Demon Tribe’s Battle Zone Africa.

In the blink of an eye, I’ve been away from my homeland for a whole month.

Although the scenery on Earth is great, the food is good, everything is good, I still feel like something’s missing.

It should be that feeling of ”home,” I guess.

After all, this place isn’t my homeland…

This past month has been plain and uneventful, not the slightest ripple. It’s said that due to Earth’s will counterattacking, several hundred divine beast species have popped up across Battle Zone Africa, but…

So what? After all, the will of a Star is just a macro-level concept. Even if its energy level surpasses that of a Level 11 powerful expert, it doesn’t have any actual physical form, nor any ability to actively launch counterattacks outward.

A few hundred divine beast species… little tricks, nothing more, really not worth mentioning.

It’s just that those guys are smart—they know how to fight guerrilla warfare, constantly harassing our strongholds and camps. It’s annoying as hell…

These filthy bugs that can’t be fully cleaned out.

Oh right, just yesterday my reassignment order came down. I’ve been transferred to the Senegal Camp to be in charge of recording and summarizing work. A scribe should be doing this sort of thing!

But Senegal, what a crappy name…

Second-month summary since Battle Zone Africa was officially established.

Recorded by Harloth Chris, scribe of the Demon Tribe’s Battle Zone Africa.

Another month where nothing happened. Aside from the rising disappearance rate of Patrol teams, there’s nothing particularly strange.

Then again, Patrol teams are all cannon fodder. If they run into a divine beast species, they definitely won’t get away. Serves them right for being unlucky. The rising disappearance rate isn’t really that surprising.

Supplemental log.

Something big happened today!

The Lusaka camp got wiped out, and more than half of our kin inside were killed! Damn, you’d never believe it if I told you—stationed at the Lusaka camp was the Skeleton Battalion.

Those stuck-up bastards actually got wrecked by a single professionist!

Akad, that’s the name circulating in the military’s internal report. It’s said he used to be Sequence Number 5 of the Human Race, went off the grid for a while, and now he’s suddenly popped back up. By the Demon Lord, how did I end up running into this kind of ruthless character? I just hope he never comes to Senegal.

Supplemental log.

Today the former New Hope Assembly Site—mm, it should be called the Central Operations Command Center now—issued a new document: a kill-on-sight order targeting the professionist named Akad who appeared yesterday.

I hope a few of the lords up there will make a move. Just thinking about there being such a guy roaming around Africa makes me feel like I can’t sleep peacefully at night…

Third-month summary since Battle Zone Africa was officially established.

Recorded by Harloth Chris, scribe of the Demon Tribe’s Battle Zone Africa.

Big trouble! Big, big trouble!

That Human called Akad is way too damn cunning.

Our army has already deployed more than ten legions, for a total troop strength of over five million, and we still haven’t even gotten close enough to catch a glimpse of the enemy’s heels. Not only that, this Akad guy has been smashing through cities and camps all the way, taking out at least several hundred thousand of our warriors, destroying three large strongholds, seven medium strongholds, and countless small ones!

Truly terrifying.

The shortcomings of bloated large forces are fully exposed when facing a high-end individual who can’t be matched…

But there’s something really weird. I don’t know what the lords at the Central Operations Command Center are busy with. Even I can see that this professionist called Akad is a huge problem, yet those mighty big shots act like it’s nothing. We never see them from one day to the next, no idea what they’re busy with.

Sigh…

Forget it, this doesn’t really have anything to do with me. Those big shots will sort it out sooner or later anyway, won’t they?

Oh, and another little thing that’s kind of interesting: they say war breeds heroes. I just didn’t expect that a place like Battle Zone Africa, where we thought the overall situation was already settled, would actually see something like ”heroes” pop up.

Mm, seems to be some guy called Little White. At the commendation ceremony a few days ago, Lord Koray praised him publicly. It’s said he successfully saw through Akad’s scheme and prevented a large assembly site from being destroyed.

A little Level 5 late-stage kid—his strength is nothing special, but that luck of his…

Really makes one jealous.

Fourth-month summary since Battle Zone Africa was officially established.

Recorded by Harloth Chris, scribe of the Demon Tribe’s Battle Zone Africa.

Why aren’t they making a move yet? Lord Koray, Lord Siegle, Lord Zero—why aren’t those guys taking the field?

The blood slaves are increasing in number. According to the warriors at the front line, that guy Akad has gathered an army of over a million under him. He used to have to skulk around hiding from us, and now he’s brazenly facing our tribe’s legions head-on…

And those idiots in the War Ministry are actually getting beaten and routed?

Unbelievable! Totally unbelievable!

Those morons!

Those pieces of trash!

My grandma would perform better than them if you threw her on the battlefield!

Earth, October 8th, 2018, Gregorian calendar.

Supplemental log.

Lord Koray is furious. The high-end powerful experts have finally taken the field. Yesterday, within the borders of Libya, our tribe’s legions successfully intercepted Akad. Lord Augustus fell in battle, Sir Pellegrino fell in battle…

The losses are devastating…

Fortunately, Akad was gravely wounded, and a large portion of the blood slaves have been wiped out. The threat should be neutralized now, right?

...

Earth, October 10th, 2018, Gregorian calendar.

Supplemental log.

In just two days, Akad has resurfaced again. According to route analysis from the intelligence department, this Akad guy is already at the end of his rope, out of ammo and supplies. Haha, what’s laughable is that he’s actually fleeing straight in the direction of Senegal!

What a joke, this is the turf of our Black Spirit Battalion! A guy who’s already been beaten half to death—as long as he shows his face, I’ll make damn sure he never comes back out alive!

It’s time to prove my military merit. I’ll let those front-line guys understand that even as a scribe, I’m a proper Level 6 Demon Tribe warrior!

...

Earth, October 15th, 2018, Gregorian calendar.

My final log.

I’m sorry, wife, I’ll never make it back to the Demon Realm…

Something’s very wrong. We underestimated Akad’s strength. He’s not alone… He absolutely has backup, someone even stronger than he is.

Just now, the Senegal Camp sounded the alarm for being under attack. But when I was getting ready to fight, I discovered that the elite battalion had already vanished, and even the commanding officer lord has gone missing…

He’s probably dead…

The city has already fallen. All I can see is an endless blood slaves army. I have no idea why there are so many of them—this doesn’t match the intel at all…

But it doesn’t really matter anymore.

Now, I have to fulfill a warrior’s…

...

With a ”bang.”

The last few words, the Demon Tribe scribe never finished writing.

Blood flowed from the hole in his forehead, trickling onto the notebook on the table. Fortunately, the notebook’s material was quite good and wasn’t soaked through by the blood.

A slender arm appeared out of thin air and picked up the notebook on the table, casually flipping through it twice.

”Mm, Demon Realm Language, can’t understand a damn thing…”

Wen Yu smiled wryly and destroyed the notebook. Because he’d long since taken Enlightenment, Demon Realm Language wasn’t a barrier for Wen Yu, but speaking and listening are one thing, while reading and writing are something else entirely!

Having originally thought he might find some classified information in the archives, Wen Yu immediately gave up on searching further. Black Light surged over his body, and in an instant he destroyed all the files in the entire records room.
