Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

”Not bad! Quite good!”

After seeing the newly awakened skills of his three soul pets, Wen Yu couldn’t hide the smile on his face.

The new skills awakened by the three soul pets were all effective, and the main skills awakened by Star and Victor made this promotion as valuable as a trip to a Super Treasure Land for Wen Yu!

It took a bit more time to replace the skills for the three soul pets, and after finishing, seeing that the Demon Realm’s Gate outside was still spewing Demonic Qi and Level 6 Demon Tribe couldn’t come out yet, Wen Yu went to the Exchange Stone Pillar and exchanged magic crystals one after another.

The newly promoted 3000 points of physique should be replenished sooner rather than later. In between, inevitably, the Laegihat Magic Mirror was used to check the best promotion combinations, which didn’t need much explanation. In short, with the massive supply of points, the promotion plan given by the Laegihat Magic Mirror posed no difficulty for Wen Yu.

...

The Demon Fiends outside the New Hope Assembly Site continued to rush towards the vicinity, only to be drained dry by the Almighty Demon Vine and the Pitch-dark Barrier.

Wen Yu didn’t understand why these Demon Fiends were so enthusiastic about this ”aiding the enemy” kind of behavior.

Under Wen Yu’s protection, everything inside the assembly site was orderly. When the Level 6 Level Lock was broken, the professionists and mutated creatures remaining in the assembly site either upgraded their levels or challenged the promotion trials.

Leading the divine beast species including the Wilderness Butcher, they completed their promotion the instant the Level Lock was broken—generally, divine beast species complete their promotion at the first opportunity, even if not immediately, they undergo transformation right after a hearty meal—now the Demon Beast Corpses within the New Hope Assembly Site were consumed.

However, these mutated beasts didn’t show much change in size. Even mutated beasts like Cyclops, Star, and Victor showed no sign of further size increase after reaching Level 6—it seems for normal mutated beasts, a height of ten meters is enough to handle various situations. Further increase in size may lead to being unwieldy and inflexible, making it hard to deal with smaller opponents.

The promotion of mutated beasts is equivalent to a transformation in life essence, and unless necessary, survival combat takes precedence. Possibly, ten meters is already the limit for regular mutant beasts.

As the Level 6 Level Lock opened, a mass promotion occurred for both professionists and mutated beasts in the assembly site. For a moment, the joy of promotion dispelled the gloom overshadowing all professionists and mutated beasts.

Seeing the New Hope Assembly Site regaining some vitality, and then glancing at the endless Demon Fiends outside the Pitch-dark Barrier, Wen Yu squinted and scanned the inside of the assembly site once more.

Now Wen Yu only hoped that the ”strongest mutant life form” would awaken quickly. In fact, during the last Demon Tribe assault, Wen Yu already felt somewhat exhausted. Ultimately, Wen Yu’s combat power is too limited, and with the support of the Demon Tribe’s Level 6 experts, Wen Yu was unsure if he could continue defending the New Hope Assembly Site.

For Wen Yu, the current battle situation at the New Hope Assembly Site is not simply about attack and defense, but a race against time!

...

However, time was not on Wen Yu’s side.

In the underground caves of the New Hope Assembly Place, water spread wildly until it flooded more than half the underground space before it stopped—the water level rising to the same height as the subterranean River.

The Ant Tribe was indeed diligent, digging out a large pit underground, which unexpectedly became their death sentence.

On the water surface nearly 10 high from the ground, the intoxicated ants completely lost their will to survive. At the end of their lives, they still craved the delicious green syrup, and then all turned into floating corpses…

Within a few hours, all the non-mutated ants had died, but the mutant ants were currently unharmed.

For example, Blackhead…

For example, Luo Luo…

Mutant beasts have a level of life force far more tenacious than normal life forms. At this moment, even soaked in the cold river, Blackhead and Luo Luo showed no signs of imminent death, despite filling their bellies with plague-infested water. They merely floated in the river, greedily digesting and absorbing, like a piece of driftwood lost of self-awareness, except for instinctively twitching their bodies, indistinguishable from corpses.

Until the Plague erupted completely!

The first changes appeared in the dead ant corpses! The green light in the river surged, and in an instant, these corpses completely dissolved into the water.

Then came the still-living mutant ants, the Plague in the water rapidly altered the water’s nature. The once delicious green syrup instantly became a strongly acidic liquid, like throwing wood into a river of sulfuric acid. Even Blackhead was instantly dissolved and devoured by the water without reaction, leaving no trace!

Instantly, a stench containing a sweet scent permeated the entire Ground Cave, followed by fermentation.

Plague-tainted water continued to flow endlessly along the subterranean River to further places, while a murky green airflow slowly rose, seeping into the surface, gradually spreading into the New Hope Assembly Site above!

With my life, let the African Continent become a barren land…

The curse of the Third Generation Seed of Plague before dying was no joking matter! The Plague spread at the cost of seed collapse was enough to bring unbearable pain to the entire African Continent!

...

Starting from the mass death of the Ant Tribe, the Plague began to spread upwards into the New Hope Assembly Site, first afflicting the Insect Tribe near the ant nests.

The green toxic gas slowly dispersed and penetrated. When it touched the first mutated insect, disaster erupted instantly.

Touched by the green gas, the mutated insect’s body rotted and collapsed in a short time, then turned into a denser green smoke, merging into the green gas, enhancing the concentration and lethality of the green gas!

After that, the situation didn’t differ much from what happened outside…

Within the green smoke seemed to exist some unknown inducement factor, tempting low-level mutant beasts and non-mutated small creatures to rush into the green smoke, becoming fuel that ignited the green Plague fire. Then, the green smoke seemed alive, continuously expanding and spreading, turning the Insect Tribe’s main base in the New Hope Assembly Site into a barren land in a short time!

Of course, certain powerful mutant Insect Tribes weren’t affected by the green smoke—the Plague released by the Third Generation Seed of Plague could only bully weaker mutant beasts.

Upon sensing the green smoke, Commander Soot Skin, realizing something was wrong, decisively led the uninfected mutant beasts of the Insect Tribe to charge out of the cave. Subsequently, the general situation in the cave was rapidly conveyed to Wen Yu.
