Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

After establishing cooperation with Bai, Wen Yu didn’t stay long. After briefly discussing the cooperation matters, he returned to the Soul Experiment Lab.

Though it was called cooperation, the specifics were limited, mainly revolving around intelligence sharing. Wen Yu had the Soul Puppet Legion, which naturally provided efficient intelligence gathering, while Bai, being an ancient monster in the Universe of Immortals and Heroes, likely had methods beyond Wen Yu’s imagination.

Despite reaching a consensus, the two parties seemed like parallel lines, continuing in their respective directions without interference. Wen Yu, having dealt with the unexpected situation with Bai, continued to firmly execute his established strategy!

Concealed in the dark, slowly accumulating forces, Wen Yu would inevitably launch a world-shaking war against the Demon Tribe’s Battle Zone Africa once his forces were sufficiently vast!

...

Back in the Soul Experiment Lab, Wen Yu first greeted Lin Haifeng and informed him of all the information Bai had revealed, except for the Boundary Cracking Device.

The Origin Extraction Device is a significant challenge Earth recently faced, and Wen Yu certainly wouldn’t foolishly withhold information on this matter.

In passing, Wen Yu inquired about Tang Haofei’s recent situation.

”Recently, Tang Haofei died again. We don’t know the specifics, but it seems to be suicide. After this incident, the second personality has completely taken over, and the presence of Tang Haofei’s main personality is becoming shorter and shorter.”

This was Lin Haifeng’s exact statement.

Upon hearing this, Wen Yu immediately abandoned the idea of communicating with Tang Haofei—the erratic style of Tang Haofei’s second personality was something Wen Yu couldn’t appreciate.

So, dealing with him was temporarily avoided—Wen Yu was happily farming in Africa, so why get involved in Tang Haofei’s self-sabotaging drama? With Tang Haofei’s strength, Wen Yu feared that one misstep might cost him his life.

After hanging up the call, Wen Yu initiated a Spirit Connect with Victor and Cyclops.

”Besides being busy and tired, everything’s fine.”

Victor’s voice conveyed an indescribable fatigue. Over the past two months of global travel, Victor hadn’t even left the European Continent; the daily routine involved searching for Ants, occasionally battling Demon Fiends, and bickering with Luo Luo or the Big Lion. Though monotonous and tiring, it suited Victor’s preference for tranquility.

Wen Yu felt confident about Victor and Luo Luo.

But Cyclops made Wen Yu scratch his head.

”Boss, come find me to hang out when you’re free. Not to brag, but I helped you secure a territory. Aren’t you going to give me a reward, Boss?”

Wen Yu immediately chuckled.

”What do you want?”

”Another two months off, just two months. How about it?”

Wen Yu could imagine Cyclops’ playful expression during the Spirit Connect.

”What about Star?”

”He’s secluded, just staring at the mountains all day, not moving at all. I don’t know what’s so interesting about a pile of broken stones.”

”Okay, don’t just focus on enjoyment. Next time I see you, if your strength doesn’t satisfy me, I’ll break your legs.”

Cyclops hesitated and didn’t respond.

After hanging up the communication with the soul pet, Wen Yu pondered for a moment but decided against mobilizing the soul pets, especially the mutant beast group under Cyclops.

The beast group was truly no match for the Soul Puppet Legion.

...

After concluding the Spirit Connect with the soul pet, Wen Yu paced back and forth in the Soul Experiment Lab. After a while, he stopped and initiated another Soul Connection.

”Master.”

A slightly sharp voice came through the Soul Connection.

”Harrock, how are things on your end?”

”I’ve successfully infiltrated the Demon Tribe, and now I’ve become the Patrol team’s leader.”

Harrock, once Wen Yu’s captive, had his soul erased and was transformed using a bit of Creation Energy into a second-type memory duplicant—unchanged skills, unchanged level, unchanged memory, with no further growth.

But that was enough.

Strictly speaking, Harrock no longer belonged to a normal life form, and the soul deficiency couldn’t be detected by ordinary means. Even in the Demon Tribe, soul skills weren’t widely mastered, plus all Soot Skin Demon Fiends looked similar, so the Demon Tribe High-Level wouldn’t care much about a single Soot Skin Demon Fiend.

Thus, the ”revived” Harrock, as a wandering monster, successfully infiltrated the Cannon Fodder Brigade of the Demonic Tribe.

”I need the Demon Tribe’s troop deployment map, patrol routes.”

”Master, I only have the Demon Tribe’s patrol routes.”

”Alright, leave it at the usual place.”

”Yes, Master.”

Although Wen Yu’s needs weren’t fully met, he couldn’t expect too much from a low-level cannon fodder spy, especially considering…

Wen Yu initiated another Spirit Connect.

”I need the Demon Tribe’s troop deployment map.”

”Sorry, Master, my status isn’t high enough.”

Hanging up the Spirit Connect, Wen Yu continued to initiate another Spirit Connect.

”I need the Demon Tribe’s troop deployment map…”

The puppet battalion’s actions were becoming faster, and correspondingly, prisoners were increasing. Wen Yu had quite a few spies like Harrock.

Until he finally obtained what he wanted from a Level Five Demon spy, Wen Yu sighed in relief and initiated another Spirit Connect.

”Little White.”

”Here, Master.”

”How are things now?”

On the other end of the Spirit Connect, Little White paused for a moment before speaking: ”Sorry, Master, my action is slow, and I only joined the Skeleton Battalion a few days ago—just as a low-ranking soldier.”

As the only spy with a soul in Wen Yu’s possession, Wen Yu naturally valued Little White greatly, but unfortunately, Little White’s strength was too weak, only at Peak Level 3 now, making him less useful.

Detecting the dejection in Little White’s tone, Wen Yu reassured him: ”It’s okay, take it slow.”

”Yes, Master!”

Encouraged by Wen Yu’s words, Little White immediately regained morale and renewed his enthusiasm.

”By the way, do you know your Skeleton Battalion’s defense area?”

”I know, Master, it’s in a former city in Zambia.”

”Okay, here’s what you do until tomorrow…”

Wen Yu explained a lot to Little White, then ended the Spirit Connect after Little White’s gratitude. He took out the communicator from the space ring and dialed Bai’s number.

”Bai, I need your help with something.”

”Speak, if it’s doable, it’ll be done.”

Having just established cooperation, Wen Yu and Bai were in a honeymoon phase, and Bai was extremely accommodating to Wen Yu.

”I’d like to borrow Akad.”

”It’s a trivial matter.”
