Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Ray indeed arranged a backup plan for Friday, but with Ashiya, he only told her to take Friday to Yanjing, and said nothing more, not even leaving a contact. As for whether it’s true, Ashiya feels utterly uncertain.

Thinking of this, Ashiya hugged the small baby tighter in her arms.

”Now, it’s just the two of us relying on each other.”

Looking at the sleeping Friday, a trace of determination slowly appeared on Ashiya’s face.

...

The three-day observation adaptation period passed in the blink of an eye. Standing at the gates of the temporary housing area, Ashiya’s eyes were filled with confusion.

A brief three-day period made Ashiya deeply understand the strength of the Yanjing Assembly Site—it’s paradise here!

Even in the temporary housing area intended to gather refugees, the food, lodging, and necessities were far more upscale than anything Ashiya, as Ray’s personal maid, ever used, not to mention the special baby formula provided for Friday—this isn’t an exception, every unweaned baby receives this treatment!

Ashiya found it hard to imagine that this vast Yanjing Assembly Site would provide such massive resources and favorable treatment to these refugees.

Looking at the magnificent Eternal Sky City, Ashiya took a deep breath.

Judging from this small part, the level of wealth and prosperity here far exceeds her imagination!

And in a post-apocalyptic world, such a thriving site means safety! It means indestructibility!

However...

The spacious, bright streets that came into view couldn’t dispel Ashiya’s anxiety.

Because the moment she left the temporary housing area, the instructor clearly informed everyone that from now on, their food and necessities would depend on themselves.

In a post-apocalyptic world, there’s truly nothing more difficult for a woman and a child than this.

Thinking of this, Ashiya lowered her head, looking at Friday’s healthy little face with its reddish tint in her arms, she couldn’t help but let out a long sigh.

What should I do next...

...

When the refugees from the same period all passed through the teleportation array formation, entered the Yanjing Assembly Site below, and began their unlucky, miserable, or tragic deaths outside, or reached the peak of their lives in the new life, Ashiya still stood in place without moving.

With no skills, no strength, and no one to rely on, Ashiya holding Friday didn’t even know where to go.

Just as Ashiya felt chaotic in the wind, with thoughts like ”If it doesn’t work, maybe I should resort to prostitution,” a rush of footsteps came from behind.

”Ashiya, who is calling Ashiya!”

Ashiya was startled, instinctively looking back.

She saw a large group of fully armed Cathay Regular Army soldiers, brimming with murderous aura, pushing through the crowd, walking toward the teleportation array formation.

The military’s status in this age is unimaginably high; as a large group of warriors, clearly born and bred on the frontlines, walked through the streets of Eternal Sky City, the throngs of people scattered, leaving behind a full-faced confused Ashiya and the still-sleeping Friday.

The leading Black Warrior eyed Ashiya holding the child, hurriedly stepping over and first scrutinized Ashiya’s appearance, then nodded.

”You’re Ashiya, right?”

Ashiya nodded confusedly—the distinction between good and bad wasn’t clear to her when the soldiers hunted her, she only instinctively answered their questions.

Receiving a confirmation and comparing it with the information on the photo, a smile emerged on the Black Warrior’s face.

”Come with me, our boss sent me to pick you up. Oh, Brother Lei mentioned to our boss to take care of you, and him.”

The Black Warrior glanced at the child in Ashiya’s arms.

”He’s Friday, right?”

Ashiya nodded.

Unexpectedly, the Black Warrior let out a long sigh, his eyes full of envy looking at Friday...

”Lucky little guy.”

...

These warriors came with military vehicles.

Sitting in the spacious military vehicle, Ashiya still carried a sense of unease because the direction in which the military vehicle headed wasn’t toward the teleportation array formation of the Yanjing Assembly Site, but the ”rich area” of Eternal Sky City!

This is a name as famous as thunder in the temporary housing area...

Because the term ”rich” can also be explained with another term—sequence!

sequence-beings exclusive residential area!

Watching the military vehicle drive invariably straight towards the sequence residential area, Ashiya finally couldn’t resist her doubts, opening her mouth to ask.

”Where are you taking us?”

”Home, of course? Where else?”

The Black Warrior in the same vehicle rolled his eyes, showing snow-white teeth with a smile: ”Sorry, made you and Friday wait. The Demon Tribe had some movements lately, our boss got busy with work and almost delayed picking you up, don’t mind...”

Forgiving such apologies wasn’t what Ashiya cared about; she hesitated for a while before speaking: ”But, we are heading towards the sequence area now.”

”Of course? Where else apart from the sequence area? Didn’t Brother Lei tell you? Our boss may not be sequence, but he’s indeed a Sequence-class powerful expert.”

The Black Warrior said it matter-of-factly, then mysteriously added: ”Let me tell you, don’t let the boss hear this, Yanjing’s Sequence-class powerful experts are as common as dogs, now they’ve started to establish a second sequence residential area.”
