Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

”Big trouble!”

Watching the surging Demonic Qi transform into gray torrents, shrouding the sky like dark clouds, Wen Yu’s right eyelid twitched incessantly.

The trouble indeed was significant...

From Level 5 to Level 6, it’s just a one-level increase, yet similar to the difference between Level 4 and 5, the gap of one level signifies an enhancement in raw power that more than doubles!

In the distance, accompanied by the influx of Demonic Qi to Earth, the concentration of Demonic Qi in the air increased dramatically, making the existing low-grade demonic creatures on Earth surge with fighting spirit as if they had taken stimulants, madly charging the dual defensive lines of the Almighty Demon Vine and Pitch-dark Barrier.

However, fighting spirit does not equate to strength, no matter how determined they are, the dual defenses established by Wen Yu stood immoveable.

Wen Yu himself was not worried about these low-level beings—the real threat still lay within the other world inside the Demon Realm’s Gate!

From Level 5 to 6, the conventional increase in physique upper limit is 3000 points; this is no big deal. In Wen Yu’s eyes, 2000 physique points and 5000 points do not make much of a difference.

The real concern lies in the possibly emerging Limit Breakthrough Level Demon Fiends—a mere increase in a skill slot could mean a vast difference in combat power!

Thinking of this, Wen Yu exhaled a deep breath, mobilizing all his strength, instantly enhancing the Pitch-dark Barrier’s energy reserves, followed by a pulse of Spiritual Fluctuation transmitted to his three soul pets.

”Guard the lines, I’ll go level up first.”

After speaking, Wen Yu turned into a Black Light and floated towards the nearby Exchange Stone Pillar.

...

”Choose an advancement trial.”

”Ding, scanning. Current host physique: 58312 points, Universe of Immortals and Heroes Divine Beast species (species innate talent 12.15) (the additional 0.15 is the Revenge of the World bonus), Limit Breakthrough achieved, power level Peak Level 5.”

”Ding, detected host’s profession as Soul Master, scanning soul beast’s physique.”

”Scan completed, current soul beast’s physique: 2001 points, Limit Breakthrough achieved, Peak Level 5. Eligible for level-up.”

”Ding, deducted 300,000 points, level-up trial begins.”

The points required for a Level 5 to 6 level-up trial are even lower than that from Level 4 to 5; perhaps even the Dominator disdains using such points to hinder the advancement of a well-tested Peak Level 5 professionist.

Of course, for Wen Yu now, so-called points are merely a string of innumerable numbers.

”Ding, welcome to the Level-up Challenge Space.”

Still a pure white space, still the familiar prompt sound; however, this time Wen Yu had no joy over the impending level-up.

”This round of level-up trial is a solo confrontation mode—two-person duel, winner advances, loser cannot attempt the level-up trial again within a day! Challenger detected as Sequence Number 2, automatic level-up eligibility acquired.”

A sweep of white light, a mere formality of the level-up trial was already complete!

”Ding, congratulations to the challenger for a successful challenge, advancing to Level 6 professionist.”

”The physique of a Level 6 professionist can only be strengthened using Level 6 magic crystals, with a physique limit of 5000 points. It detected that the challenger is a Breakthrough Achiever, with a physique limit far exceeding the Level 6 professionist cap, thus forcibly expanding the host’s physique limit by 3000 points, currently 58312/61312.”

This news is a piece of good news; 3000 points physique limit might be trivial to Wen Yu, but for a newly crowned Breakthrough Achiever, it definitely counts as a generous gift—once they achieve Limit Breakthrough, points are never scarce; just complete the level-up trial, and back home, they could fill this 3000 physique in minutes using magic crystals.

”Ding, due to the unique nature of the Soul Master profession, the challenger themselves did not acquire a skill.”

”Ding, congratulations on your soul beast advancing to Level 6, increasing its physique limit to 5000 points, while also acquiring the Sixth skill.”

”Dimensional Protection Rampart (SS-Class, Passive Ability): Spatial power fortifies oneself, blocking any negative spatial abilities targeting oneself—including but not limited to spatial banishment, spatial eviction, space slice, and unauthorized passive spatial shifts.

Note: Cannot defend against Esoteric Level spatial abilities.

Note: When encountering spatial energies exceeding the host’s power level, Dimensional Protection Rampart is at risk of being forcibly breached.”

”Tired of the loneliness of being spatially sealed? Tired of the helplessness of being recklessly teleported without control? Don’t worry, young man, summon a Dimensional Protection Rampart, and you need not worry any longer about malicious teasing from spatial abilities...”

Looking at the newly awakened skill, Wen Yu remained expressionless.

Strictly speaking, the Dimensional Protection Rampart is a very strong passive skill—with it, Wen Yu no longer bears the risk of being forcibly ousted from the main battlefield by spatial abilities, nor needs to worry about being recklessly teleported to an unknown location like with those Netherworld abilities.

Overall, this skill is fairly good.

But Wen Yu demands not just good but the best! Such automatically awakened SS-Class skills are utterly useless to Wen Yu, especially since his Sixth skill slot already had better options.

Having mentally passed on this skill, Wen Yu did not rush to adjust his skills but continued to receive prompts.

”Ding, host opens the 6th Soul Realm, ready to sign the sixth soul pet, host should note, forcibly contracting a soul pet, the success rate depends on the gap in strength between both parties. Actively seeking pact from a soul pet is guaranteed 100% success, but cannot contract a soul pet above the host’s current level!”

”Ding, three days of cooldown is imposed after a failed pact attempt to initiate another pact.”

”Ding, when a contracted soul pet dies, the host will endure intense Soul Impact, while the Soul Realm collapses into a critical state. One must use high-quality magic crystals to nourish the Soul Realm. Once nourishment is complete, a new soul pet pact can be attempted.”

These are the standard prompts for every Soul Master level-up.

”Ding, solemn notice, the format for the next level-up trial will change, specific challenges and difficulties remain unknown, host should be prepared.”

”Ding, level locks are now open to Level 6; at the current phase, Earth’s level cap is Level 6, no Level 7 life forms can appear.”

”Ding, detected the host as Human Race Sequence Number 2, this identity bestows due privileges during level-up trials. Meanwhile, sequence identity increases permissions in treasure lands, permissions differ from one treasure land to another. Host should independently verify in treasure lands.”

”Ding, sequence identity enhances exchange item categories at the Exchange Stone Pillar, host should independently verify specific newly added exchange item categories.”

There’s nothing much to say; this indicates yet another permission upgrade, yet in Wen Yu’s view, permissions are not of great importance.

For a professionist, knowing something does not depend on curiosity, but on the Dominator’s mood—if the Dominator desires you to know, you would understand thoroughly without any permissions, and if not, even limitless permissions are futile.

As for the advantages in treasure lands and level-up trials—does Wen Yu’s current ability still require such privileges?

As the prompt sound completely ended, a surge of golden light descended from the sky, instantly sweeping through Wen Yu’s entire being.

Sensing the immense power from the void continuously modifying himself and the little soul beasts’ physique, broadening the capacity of the body vessel, Wen Yu waited quietly for the strengthening to conclude.
