Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Although the Black Warrior’s words had a somewhat derogatory tone, it was impossible to hide his pride—saying there were as many strong ones as dogs was obviously nonsense. Though Yanjing had assessed over a thousand Sequence-class powerful experts, after all, powerful experts were still powerful experts, and Sequence-class hadn’t reached the point of being everywhere.

Ashiya fell silent on the spot, merely vaguely sensing that this time Ray seemed to have found an extraordinary backing for her and Friday.

...

During the journey, Ashiya couldn’t spare a moment to admire the scenery of Eternal Sky City, and her apprehensive mood stayed with her all the way to the sequence-beings residential area.

Not until the military vehicle slowly stopped in front of a large manor did the door open, and Ashiya stepped out of the car, immediately spotting a gigantic hulk of a man over two meters tall with a shaved head!

The Cathay military uniform on his body was stretched tight, and on the dark green military outfit’s chest was a miniature emblem resembling a lion. When he saw Ashiya get out of the car—or rather, when Friday in Ashiya’s arms came out—he approached with a gentle smile, his eyes like brass bells staring intently at the small life in Ashiya’s embrace.

Ashiya felt a chill all over her body until the hulk finally withdrew his gaze and looked at Ashiya.

In a powerful voice, he spoke the hometown dialect: ”Thank you for bringing Friday here. Allow me to introduce myself; my name is Novar, Ray’s younger brother, Friday’s second uncle.”

Hearing this introduction, Ashiya suddenly let out a long sigh of relief.

Memories flooded in her mind, and within moments, Ashiya recalled the few impressions regarding Novar—Ray did indeed have a younger brother. The two had even jointly established the New Hope Assembly Site in the early days of the apocalypse but later went their separate ways.

What she hadn’t expected was that Ray’s brother, Friday’s second uncle, had developed so well.

Raising her head to look at the magnificent manor ahead, Ashiya added a thought in her heart.

”Even better than Ray.”

...

After a brief encounter, Novar led Ashiya and Friday into the manor.

Ashiya marveled at the structures inside the manor—the garden, trees, rocking chairs, even the swimming pool, and the steel-colored grand villa.

Listening to Novar’s introduction, it wasn’t until he mentioned, ”From now on, this place belongs to Friday,” that Ashiya was taken aback.

”What?”

”From now on, this place belongs to Friday. I just went to the real estate bureau and changed the ownership. I’m giving this place to Friday, and at the same time, I’ve designated Friday as my first heir... Well, I have no children. If something happens to me, Friday will be my first heir, inheriting my estate. Besides, I’m a frontline warrior, and I don’t often use this place anyway, so I’ll have to trouble you to take care of Friday.”

Novar spoke calmly of unpleasant matters, but in the apocalypse, life and death are common occurrences; even Sequence-class powerful experts cannot guarantee their own safety.

And the estate of a Sequence-class powerful expert, plus the compensation from dying in battle for Yanjing, amounts to an astronomical figure—at least, it will allow Friday to grow up worry-free and even grant him a superpower dozens of times stronger than ordinary people under such compensation!

Such rags-to-riches scenarios are truly rare... Whereas the generational inheritance of wealth (now synonymous with power) from dragons producing dragons and phoenixes producing phoenixes is fundamentally why the elite class is regarded as elite!

This is like the proto-form of an Aristocratic Family—but honestly, there’s nothing wrong with it. If future generations don’t degrade, these youngsters inheriting their ancestors’ shade will not only grow stronger at an incredible pace, but their loyalty to Yanjing will also be much stronger than those lucky mavericks!

Having just arrived in Yanjing, Friday already has a head start in life.

Seeing the dazed expression on Ashiya’s face, Novar chuckled softly.

”Well then, I’ll leave this place to you. I have quite a busy job, so I’m leaving now.”

After speaking, Novar gently patted Ashiya’s shoulder: ”I’ve left the magic crystals and savings card with the Head maid; if you need to buy anything, you can get it from her. The balance is generous, so as long as you don’t purchase any military-grade weapons or tools, it should be fine. This place is very safe, and there are many good things. If you’re free, you can shop around, have a beauty treatment, do your nails, watch a movie, or socialize with your neighbors. I’ve heard Ray mention you; from today, you’re half the mistress of this place. In summary...”

Novar paused for a moment before breaking into a wide grin.

”Welcome to Eternal Sky City, The city of the world, the World City!”
