Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

A month later, the African Continent.

An ordinary day has begun once again.

At least for Harrock, today is no different from yesterday, the day before, or even a day a month ago.

Early in the morning, waking up, eating some fresh yellow soil and grass roots to fill the belly, then, being a middle stage Level 4 which made him the demon patrol team leader, Harrock walked into the barracks, using his short, black-small legs to provide an unforgettable wake-up call for his teammates—a big group of Soot Skin Demon Fiend of his own tribe.

”Get up, you trash!”

Harrock kicked the deputy leader’s butt while he shook the files in his hand.

”Today’s patrol route from above, today’s task is heavy, hurry up!”

And so, amidst a big ruckus of grumbling complaints, Harrock’s ordinary day began—of course, this so-called ordinary was only in Harrock’s own opinion.

In the situation where the entire African Continent has been taken by the Demon Tribe, patrol was merely just sightseeing, wasn’t it, just like the kind of repetitive work he has been doing over this more than a month?

...

”Air quality is good, demonic qi concentration is 0.07836 percent, compared to yesterday, it’s increased by 0.0001 percentage points.”

”Plague toxin concentration in the air has decreased, it is estimated the plague will completely dissipate in two months.”

”Oxygen content is rising.”

One series of air quality reports came from the technical staff behind, Harrock casually picked a blade of grass from the ground, chewed it twice and swallowed it.

”Send the report back, eh, you all try as well, these newly grown plants taste quite good.”

Harrock’s words seemed to trigger a switch of some gate, the team behind him like a bunch of mad dogs, lying on the ground, frantically grabbing at the grass and soil, stuffing them into their mouths.

Harrock rolled his eyes, not asking for much—after all, his team is part of the cannon fodder patrol team, discipline is just okay-ish, that’s all.

Moreover, this is also contributing to the great cause of the Demon Tribe—these plants can purify the plague toxins in the air, destroying them also means delaying the speed of plague dissipation in the African Continent.

Though it’s of no use.

Harrock thought so, watching two members in the distance fighting over a blade of grass, Eye Hammer, Groin Pulling Hand, Millennium Kill and other dirty moves all coming out, so low quality Harrock couldn’t even bear to look, so he turned his head and walked towards another direction.

...

With the gentle breeze, Harrock lay on the grass, carefully examining the patrol route map in his hand.

Today’s newly assigned patrol task, indeed troublesome in Harrock’s eyes, not only does it involve traversing this desert—now should be called half-desert half-grassland, but also advancing towards the mountains ahead for exploration.

A region unknown.

Harrock silently assessed in heart, then pondered for a moment, then smiled wryly.

Unknown or not, who cares, the remaining Earth creatures in the African Continent have been infected by the plague, ten not even one left, Harrock has done similar exploration tasks for unknown regions before, overall, danger remains within controllable range.

Thinking of this, Harrock put away the route map, chewing wild grass under the light breeze, squinting to enjoy the rare sunlight.

Earth…

Sure is beautiful…

...

Under the sunlight and gentle breeze, sleepiness began to spread.

However, before Harrock could fall into dreamland, the sudden tremor on the ground startled him awake.

Watching the slightly undulating sand around, Harrock puzzled gazed around.

”Earthquake? Doesn’t seem like it...”

Harrock scratched his head, stood up from the ground, returned a few steps to where the troops were, looked at the cannon fodder patrol team lying there, was about to reprimand them, but suddenly widened his eyes, mouth agape, speechless with astonishment.

In the distance, a tide like a wave quickly surged towards the cannon fodder patrol team, in the yellow soil one round turfy balls with small eyes appeared faintly, a flash of sharp killing intent quickly enveloped the entire patrol team, above the swirling yellow sand, a transparent ripple followed the turbulent sand sea, for a moment making Harrock feeling as if facing the majesty of heaven and earth!

”En…Enemy attack...”

Harrock’s alarm shout hadn’t spread around before being stuck in his throat, only saw the ground where the cannon fodder patrol team was suddenly sink, a huge deep pit appeared out of nowhere, instantly engulfed the entire team, Harrock only heard the sounds of fists hitting flesh, screams of agony, and booming sounds of footsteps.

As black demon blood spurted from the deep pit, soaking the nearby sand, Harrock snapped back to reality, turned and wanted to run towards the camp.

Who would have thought a pair of large hands suddenly drilled from underground, grabbing Harrock’s ankle, then Harrock only felt his body sinking, sand furiously surged into his wide-opened mouth, until the back of his head received a heavy blow!

The next moment, Harrock simply passed out.

...

When the undulating sand wave surged to the edge of the deep pit, the battle had already ended.

A diamond-like figure stepped through the sand wave, standing at the edge of the bottomless pit, watching the magical creature’s flesh and soul light points, slowly extended his right hand.
