Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Within the Soul Experiment Lab, Wen Yu’s face was full of reverence, facing the two Demon Fiends lying obediently in a coma on the bed, with a solemnness akin to confronting the truth.

At this moment, Wen Yu’s state was similar to some of the ”scientific madmen” he had seen at the Yanjing Assembly Site, though their purposes were not quite the same.

They aimed for the strength of the Human Race, striving to climb the human technology tree.

But Wen Yu, when it came down to it, was solely for his own power.

Yet, there should be some commonality—such as a madness that disregards life as life!

Well, if the life of Demon Fiends counts as life too...

...

The first experiment subject Wen Yu took was a Third-level Peak Bone Demon.

This Demon Fiend had accidentally wandered into the range where the Mountain Kui resided and was subsequently captured by the Wood Puppet that was sowing seeds and absorbing matter outside, becoming Wen Yu’s first living material.

Creation Energy swiftly surged into the body of the Bone Demon, causing its body to convulse as foreign energy entered, then it slowly regained consciousness.

This was Wen Yu’s first experiment—on whether life forms could accept the transformation of Creation Energy.

After the Creation Energy entered the Bone Demon’s body, it wandered within it, then eagerly entered the Bone Demon’s mind.

From the soul’s perspective, Creation Energy collided with the Bone Demon’s Soul Fire, erupting into a dazzling light, and under Wen Yu’s watchful gaze, the enormous Creation Energy, driven instinctively by the Soul Fire, retreated repeatedly, and within seconds, it obediently rolled out of the Bone Demon’s body and vanished into the air.

Experiment failed—Creation Energy proved to be completely ineffective on life forms with souls!

The Bone Demon, which had undergone an intrusion of foreign energy, did not perceive the existence of Creation Energy at all. Just as the Creation Energy circled through the Bone Demon’s body, it was like a cool breeze blowing by with no discernible impact.

The Bone Demon did not even notice what had happened, only felt that this human in front of it was staring at it without blinking, making it feel uneasy. When the experiment concluded, the Bone Demon’s brain cleared up from the heavy impact it had received, and it shouted loudly words like ”Help,” only to be knocked unconscious again by Wen Yu with a hand chop.

For ordinary life forms, Creation Energy poses no threat whatsoever.

In other words, the Soul Abiogenetic Creation Skill is of no help in direct combat!

...

Watching the Bone Demon fall unconscious again, Wen Yu squinted his eyes, reflecting on his thoughts from the past few days, and after a moment, Soul Power surged. A Soul Battlefield, with a very small coverage area, instantaneously enveloped the Bone Demon’s body.

The Soul Battlefield directly extracted the Bone Demon’s soul—whether the Bone Demon was conscious or not, it only cared if it was alive or dead.

Instantly entering the Soul State, the Bone Demon felt dizzy and awake, awake and dizzy again, a feeling as exhilarating as a roller coaster ride. The next second, a black light flashed, ending the Bone Demon’s troubles.

Dark power wiped out the Bone Demon’s soul entirely.

The scattered Light of the Soul in the air, some of its essence was absorbed by the Soul Battlefield, converting into nourishment for Wen Yu’s own soul strengthening. The remaining impurities flowed into Wen Yu’s right hand, transforming into Creation Energy.

Perfectly untainted, not a bit wasted.

Having finished all this, Wen Yu immediately withdrew the Soul Battlefield, looking at the Bone Demon’s corpse devoid of any life signs lying on the bed. The Creation Energy in his right hand surged once more, instantly darting into the ownerless body!

The next second, a strange feedback abruptly struck.

...

Indescribable was the feeling, as the Creation Energy surged into the Bone Demon’s body. Wen Yu clearly sensed facing three choices.

First: Use a tiny amount of Creation Energy to transform it into an existence akin to a corpse puppet—essentially a blood and flesh element, possessing instinctual talents but incapable of having skills.

Second: Use a moderate quantity of Creation Energy to transform it into a duplicant of the Bone Demon’s original memory—with memories and skills from its past life, but it would have no further growth potential. This choice made Wen Yu think of the resurrection method provided by the Dominator—the methods might differ, but in terms of effect, they should be the same.

Third: Use an extensive amount of Creation Energy to regenerate a pure soul, retaining original skills from its life, and also possessing growth potential, but completely erasing its own memory! The amount of energy consumed depends on the physical qualities and skill level and quality of the transformed body.

Sensing these three choices, Wen Yu immediately squinted his eyes and directly chose the third option.

In an instant, a massive amount of Creation Energy surged from Wen Yu’s right hand, flooding into the Bone Demon’s body. Perceiving the rapid loss of Creation Energy, Wen Yu’s expression changed instantly.

Too fast, the energy consumption was too fast!

The extensive amount mentioned in the third option had no reference for Wen Yu, and now, after just starting the experiment, Wen Yu immediately found that this extensive amount truly deserved the term ’extensive’!

The Creation Energy demanded by the Bone Demon’s body was like a greedy beast attempting to drain Wen Yu dry!

The Creation Energy poured like a flood; within a short time, it had already consumed half of Wen Yu’s total Creation Energy, the sudden loss of energy making Wen Yu’s face turn pale.

Not some damage to himself, just simple heartache—the abundant soul energy scattered across the African Continent after the great war needed no explanation, Wen Yu had absorbed almost all of it, resulting in only this amount of Creation Energy which could even make several Soul Puppets, consuming less than one-tenth of the total. However, merely generating a pure soul in a Third-level Peak Demon Fiend’s body had drained more than half of the remaining Creation Energy.

It wasn’t until ”extensive” consumed about seventy percent of Wen Yu’s Creation Energy did it finally calm down, and then, within the shell of a body that had died, the Soul Fire blazed once more.

Watching the Bone Demon lying in bed slowly opening its eyes, with a gaze lost and seemingly unfocused, pure soul fluctuations unreservedly radiating the Light of the Soul, while a new spiritual connection established with Wen Yu.

Observing the newborn Bone Demon soul like a blank slate, sensing the dependency and trust in the new soul, Wen Yu sighed lightly after a long pause.

A blank slate...

But it’s a blank slate with potential, one that can utilize the professionist system...

So, perhaps it’s not a loss.

By now, Wen Yu could only console himself this way, and then, he temporarily set aside the pain within his heart.

”I’ll call you Little White.”

The blazing Naming soul revived, and with its cheap naming ability, Wen Yu gave the newly born Bone Demon a dog’s name. Fortunately, the soul like blank paper didn’t understand the awkwardness of this name, only saw the newborn soul leap a couple of times, seemingly accepting Wen Yu’s naming grace.

It couldn’t speak for now, nor think, only had some instinctual reactions, similar to a newborn baby, needing a growth and learning process.

This could also be seen as a different kind of nurturing.

Then, Wen Yu’s command rang out across the area.

”Mountain Kui, Cloud Puppet, gather Creation Energy with all your might, I have a great use for it!”

”Yes, master.”

Sensing his army quietly departing and looking at the Bone Demon before him, Wen Yu cast his gaze to the 4th Soul Realm and the place where the Almighty Demon Vine resided in his right hand.

The Soul Abiogenetic Creation Skill should be able to solve the issues with Faceless and the Tongtian Demon Vine.

However, the Creation Energy consumed by those two...

”Hiss...”

Wen Yu suddenly felt a twinge of gum pain.
