Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Recently, the Demon Tribe in the Battle Zone Africa encountered some strange events.

Patrol teams disappeared without reason. Since the first batch of cannon fodder patrol teams composed of Soot Skin Demon Fiends disappeared half a month ago, almost every day, one or several patrol teams would lose contact.

This was peculiar, but for the Demon Tribe, it wasn’t really a big deal.

Since the collapse of the New Hope Assembly Place and after Sequence Number 2 escaped, the Demon Tribe considered their strategy for the Battle Zone Africa largely successful—even so, the New Hope Assembly Place doesn’t represent the entire African Continent. Despite the tormenting Plague, the continent still retains resistance forces.

Level 4 and above mutant creatures—those that didn’t evacuate or join the New Hope Assembly Place—still exist in considerable numbers or perhaps even more than those Wen Yu gathered.

Not to mention the new divine beast species stimulated by the Plague.

Earth’s counterattack continues, and in this situation of no large-scale battles but constant small skirmishes, occasionally losing a patrol team or two seems acceptable.

...

Wen Yu’s research in the Soul Experiment Lab continued as usual.

”Master, these are the gains from the past half month.”

Mountain Kui’s carbon copy entered the lab, raised its right hand, which glittered with Creation Energy in large quantity.

Wen Yu glanced at it, turned his head with slight disappointment, and waved his hand.

”Use it yourself for now, focus on expanding the tribe. You don’t need to submit the future Creation Energy to me; prioritize tribe expansion.”

The creation energy collected by Wen Yu’s army over the past half month was not insubstantial, yet it was far from meeting Wen Yu’s needs—endowing Faceless and Almighty Demon Vine with Souls would require a vast amount of Creation Energy! When Mountain Kui handed over the gains, Wen Yu immediately changed his mind.

Instead of continuously extracting the limited Creation Energy to accumulate for endowing Souls to Faceless and Almighty Demon Vine, it would be better to expand the army’s size. At a certain point, they could wage outright war against the Demon Tribe to collect more Creation Energy.

Well, given that Faceless and Almighty Demon Vine have existed in a muddled state for so long, Wen Yu didn’t mind waiting another year or two.

Upon hearing Wen Yu’s orders, Mountain Kui intended to retreat but was called back by Wen Yu.

”How is Little White?”

Little White was created by Wen Yu using the flesh of Bone Demon as a blueprint—his first complete Soul Abiogenetic Creation capable of using the professionist system—or rather, it was no longer just a Soul Creation but a true independent life form.

Since Little White’s birth, Wen Yu entrusted him to Mountain Kui for guidance in understanding the world. A newborn Soul learns much faster than a newborn child.

”Other than lacking some experience, everything else is fine.”

Mountain Kui’s reply was vague, but Wen Yu understood his difficulty—Mountain Kui’s own experience was limited, and now Wen Yu tasked him with raising a child, quite a challenging responsibility indeed.

”Bring him here; my experiments have made new progress.”

...

”Master.”

When Little White entered the lab, he found Wen Yu fiddling with a white light sphere.

”Sit.”

Wen Yu nodded at Little White, signaling him to sit, then spoke.

”How have you adjusted these past two days?”

The menacing Bone Demon nodded repeatedly: ”It’s alright, this world... is very fascinating...”

His reply wasn’t sincere—Little White had been wandering around the Soul Experiment Lab since his birth, experiencing little of the world’s wonders.

Yet Wen Yu overlooked these minor details, gently squeezing the light sphere in his hands, then stood up, walking over to Little White.

”The reason I called you here is to assign you a task.”

”Please instruct, Master.”

A Soul Creation would never refuse Wen Yu’s command.

”I want you to infiltrate the Demon Tribe and gather intelligence on their military arrangements—in simple terms, act as a spy.”

”I will complete the task!”

Seeing Little White’s enthusiastic face, eager to sacrifice for the cause, unbothered by the inherent dangers, Wen Yu chuckled, patting Little White on the shoulder.

”This is a daunting task, so before you set off, I will offer some help, such as your original memory...”

Wen Yu said, placing the light sphere in Little White’s hands.

”Contained in this light sphere is your original memory. Now absorb it, and learn.”

”Yes, Master.”

...

Little White absorbed the light sphere into his body, twitched violently, and when he opened his eyes, Wen Yu noticed the diminished liveliness in Little White’s gaze replaced by varied thoughts and emotions.

It was like diving into a dye vat, transforming the once blank Little White into a colorful entity under the Bone Demon’s memory baptism.

After scrutinizing the transformed Little White, ensuring the mental connection was intact, Wen Yu waved his hand.

”Prepare yourself, and when ready, depart. Communicate directly via mental connection if anything arises.”

”Yes, Master.”

Little White retreated with orders in hand, while Wen Yu’s eyes gradually showed a trace of complex light.

Little White’s original self was erased by Wen Yu’s Soul Battlefield—a moment that marked the Bone Demon’s demise.

Though Little White’s birth severed the link with the Bone Demon, by using Creation Energy to replicate the Bone Demon’s original memory and infusing it into Little White’s Soul, does the current Little White constitute the Bone Demon’s perfect Rebirth?

Is it or isn’t it?

Wen Yu struggled to comprehend this paradox...

However, one thing was clear—from over a month of experiments, Wen Yu discovered Creation Energy’s versatility.

Creating life was one aspect. Since Creation Energy absorbs the previously unusable Soul Energy from deceased life forms, which includes their lifetime memories, these memories absorbed and converted by the Soul Abiogenetic Creation Skill turn into Creation Energy. Wen Yu learned to reverse convert Creation Energy back into pre-death life memories through extensive experiments!

Modifying tools, skills, and life forms, even creating tools, skills, new life forms—this is the skill description of the Soul Abiogenetic Creation Skill.

In over a month of experiments, Wen Yu used this as the experimental guideline, thoroughly testing the Soul Abiogenetic Creation Skill.

Creating Soul Puppets is merely one aspect; reconstructing memories also counts as modifying life forms. As for skills and tools, due to insufficient Creation Energy, Wen Yu only achieved a tiny part.

However, this tiny part has already provided Wen Yu unimaginable benefits.

With this thought, Wen Yu looked at the Heaven-covering Robe he was wearing.
