Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

The soul light points surged from the pit into the right hand of the Mountain Kui, coalescing into an invisible creation energy. Then, a small figure less than ten centimeters tall climbed out from the Mountain Kui’s shoulder, its bright eyes gazing at the blood and flesh in the pit, a hint of greed flickering within.

”Go on, devour them.”

The Mountain Kui said.

The Corpse Puppet leaped from the Mountain Kui’s shoulder, directly into the pit, voraciously chewing on the blood and flesh of the demon fiend.

A stream of creation energy shot out from the Mountain Kui’s hand, merging into the Corpse Puppet’s body. Under the effect of the flesh and energy, the Corpse Puppet’s figure gradually grew taller and stronger.

Seeing the growth of the Corpse Puppet, the Mountain Kui nodded in satisfaction.

”Master’s first task, nurturing the Corpse Puppet, is considered complete.”

”Then, the second task, capturing a prisoner, yes, it’s also complete.”

Thinking of this, the Mountain Kui glanced at the approaching Earth Element.

The nearly three-meter-tall Earth Element was carrying Harrock’s body. The small Soot Skin Demon Fiend looked helpless in the hands of the gigantic Earth Element, like a tiny chick.

”The third task, cleaning up the battlefield, concealing traces.”

Thinking of the third task, the Mountain Kui turned to look behind it.

Rows upon rows of orderly but varied-sized Earth Element Puppets stretched endlessly. Wherever the sand waves passed, Earth Element figures could be seen everywhere.

”Children, clean up the battlefield.”

Spiritual fluctuations spread all around, and one after another, the Earth Elements slowly merged into the ground. Soon, the earth trembled again, and in no time, the large pit was completely buried.

”Cloud Puppet, I need your help.”

”Alright, but you must give me one-fifth of the creation energy.”

”Fine.”

After a simple discussion between the two soul constructs, a gentle breeze swept across the battlefield. Soon, only a few tiny traces of battle remained, which quickly vanished completely.

Picking up the Corpse Puppet, now nearly thirty centimeters tall, and placing it on its shoulder, the Mountain Kui once again surveyed the surroundings and, after ensuring there were no oversights, slowly sank into the ground.

Then, the earth rose and fell, and transparent ripples spread through the air, causing two armies to silently disappear.

...

In an ordinary little hill in Africa, Wen Yu leisurely sipped coffee, enjoying the treatment of a landlord being served.

Beside him, a pale green Water Element was holding a plate of compressed biscuits, diligently serving Wen Yu. Behind Wen Yu, a strange wooden figure, about three meters tall, resembling neither flower, grass, nor tree, was skillfully swinging vine whips to perfectly tie up a Peak Level 3 demon fiend in a tortoise shell bondage.

Watching the Level 3 Bone Demon screeching and shouting, Wen Yu frowned slightly. The tree figure instantly understood his master’s intent, and the vines on its body swiftly intertwined, forming a huge wooden mallet that struck the Bone Demon’s skull with a ”thud”.

The world finally fell silent.

”Master, we are back.”

Before Wen Yu could finish his coffee, a familiar spiritual fluctuation arrived. The mountainside suddenly opened a crack, and outside, an almost imperceptible cloud and a towering Stone figure walked into the mountain’s belly. Before the two soul constructs reached Wen Yu, a small figure jumped off the Mountain Kui’s shoulder, quickly diving into Wen Yu’s embrace.

Seeing the Corpse Puppet in his arms, now more than three times its original size, Wen Yu nodded in satisfaction. The Wood Puppet behind him waved its vines, securely tying up the Mountain Kui’s prisoner—Harrock—and placed it beside the Bone Demon. Thus concluded the first battle belonging to the Soul Puppets.

Gazing at the Soul Puppets surrounding him, a hint of joy flashed in Wen Yu’s eyes as he extended his perception, detecting the spiritual connections scattered all around the mountain, and silently estimated his current strength.

Mountain Kui, strictly speaking, was Wen Yu’s first soul construct. Under the lavish creation energy supply from Wen Yu, it rapidly grew, continuously breeding Earth Element Puppets. Until now, Wen Yu had nearly one hundred thousand of them in various sizes. The Mountain Kui’s body also grew in this process, and now the mountain peak housing the Soul Experiment Lab stood at five hundred meters high, not to mention the parts hidden underground.

Cloud Puppet, Wen Yu’s second main soul construct. The barely detectable air vortex in the sky was the existence of the Cloud Puppet’s body. Its abilities, although somewhat different from the Mountain Kui, achieved a similar outcome. Now, the Cloud Puppet’s kin numbered around thirty thousand.

The rest included only four puppets: Water Dummy, Wood Puppet, Corpse Puppet, and Darkness Puppet.

The Water Dummy and Wood Puppet had formed their bodies, but due to the lack of materials, they had not yet created a large group. There’s not much to say about the Corpse Puppet; during this first sortie of the Soul Puppets, Wen Yu had the Mountain Kui accompany it, finally unlocking the chains on the growth of the Corpse Puppet.

As for the Darkness Puppet, its existence was somewhat special. Currently, it hid in Wen Yu’s shadow, but its overall strength was still weak, not very useful.

As for small things like the Flame Dummy, due to a severe lack of materials and slow growth, they were mercifully destroyed by Wen Yu and could be recreated later without hurry.

Slowly closing his eyes, Wen Yu sensed the spiritual connections that filled the air, soil, plants, and rivers, creating a dense web that even gave him an illusion of countless numbers. After a while, Wen Yu opened his eyes.

Focusing on his sixth skill and the five large words ’Soul Abiogenetic Creation Skill’, a ripple stirred in Wen Yu’s heart.

This was the second time, the second time a skill had changed his planned power framework for the future!

The previous skill of such honor was called the Soul Battlefield!

...

The profession of a Soul Master somewhat aligned with Wen Yu’s original combat power planning—valuing quality over quantity. Wen Yu initially thought the soul constructs should be the same: a few elite soul constructs would suffice to offset the weaknesses of being an independent hero—around a dozen powerful combat entities were enough to handle many things.

However, the existence of Mountain Kui and Cloud Puppet led Wen Yu down a ’deviant path’.

Emphasizing both quality and quantity!

With soul pets and elite puppets as high-end forces—these were generals, and the secondary puppets as his army—these were soldiers, and Wen Yu himself, the sole king seated on the throne!

He was the strongest, commanding thousands of troops!

I, am the thousand armies!

I, am the Kingdom!

I am the supreme ruler of this realm, where the heavens and earth obey my command wherever I am!

Looking at the soul puppets standing respectfully before him, Wen Yu was once again struck by the power of the Soul Abiogenetic Creation Skill.

Create life, usurp the power of gods!

Master the universe, transform all into your soldiers!

Create something from nothing, even nurture self-breeding tribes!

Nuwa Creates Humans is no different!

Clenching his fist gently, looking at the ’life’ he had crafted with his own hands, Wen Yu felt a brief flicker of daze.

What is this? A god?

Creating life? This should be something only a god could do, right?

So, maybe, I too deserve to be called a god, right...?

The next moment, Wen Yu suddenly shivered.

I am not a god, this is just a skill after all...

No matter how strong it is, or what it can accomplish, a skill is, in the end, just a skill! And a skill, ultimately, is just a tool.

The essence of a professionist remains unchanged. So the thought of ’God on Earth’ that emerged in Wen Yu’s mind was quickly severed by his strong willpower.

With a gentle wave of his hand, signaling the puppets to back down, Wen Yu then stood up and walked towards the two tightly bound demon fiends.

Creating life is merely an aspect of the Soul Abiogenetic Creation Skill’s application. Wen Yu has not yet finished his research on the Soul Abiogenetic Creation Skill.

Now that the army has matured and the experimental subjects are in place, it’s time for Wen Yu to take the next step in exploring the Soul Abiogenetic Creation Skill.
