Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Three days later.

”Stop messing around!”

Wen Yu grabbed the little tree spirit playing above his head and then focused his attention on the whirlpool of air in front of him.

The little tree spirit, pulled from its perch, pouted angrily and hammered Wen Yu’s heel twice with its little fists. It wasn’t until Wen Yu flicked it far away with a casual kick that it stopped, turned, and went to bully the miniature version of Wen Yu.

The Soul Experiment Lab, three days later, was vastly different from when it was first built. Now, the space in the lab was at least five times larger than before. In the middle, an enormous mound of earth pulsated continuously. Without turning his head, Wen Yu flicked his hand, incorporating a beam of Creation Energy into the mound, accelerating its absorption of the soil.

Within the mound, the Mountain Kui was naturally being nurtured. Over the three days, it was absorbing both the Creation Energy and the soil beneath it, growing in momentum. However, its specific power and size remained a mystery to Wen Yu—it was still growing, showing no signs of emerging from the ground.

After staring at the Mountain Kui for three days, Wen Yu wisely decided not to bother with it anymore. Instead, he turned to research another Soul Abiogenetic Creation he had imagined.

If the soil could carry Creation Energy and nurture a Soul Puppet, what about something even more amorphous?

For example, air.

...

Before Wen Yu was a mass of air. When he infused it with Creation Energy, the air immediately transformed.

The once ethereal air, at most compressed slightly by Wen Yu, began rotating rapidly under the influence of the Creation Energy. In no time, a Spiritual Fluctuation emerged from within, quickly followed by a voice: ”Energy.”

Oh great, another mouth to feed...

While lamenting the rapid consumption of Creation Energy, Wen Yu flicked another beam of Creation Energy into the mass of air. As its rotation speed increased, it absorbed the surrounding air. Its color deepened, and soon a cloud-like, fluffy entity appeared on the table before Wen Yu.

He gently poked the newborn Soul Abiogenetic Creation, feeling its soft texture against his fingers. Simultaneously, a Spiritual Fluctuation transmitted into Wen Yu’s mind.

”Energy! More energy!”

The direct request earned a big eye roll from Wen Yu. He then enveloped his right hand in Creation Energy and decisively ”charged” the newborn Soul Abiogenetic Creation. Watching the cloud-like, airy Soul Abiogenetic Creation drift lazily, Wen Yu savored the joy of success and a playful spirit arose within him.

”Hmm, let’s call this one Cloud Puppet.”

He set the Cloud Puppet aside and turned to study other Soul Abiogenetic Creations.

...

”Hmm, this is a darkness energy conglomeration; I’ll call you Darkness Puppet.”

”This is a Flame Soul Abiogenetic Creation, so I’ll name you Flame Dummy.”

”This is water, so you’ll be Water Dummy.”

”And you!”

Grabbing the little tree spirit running around, Wen Yu looked at its deep purple bark and decisively gave it a pleasant name: ”You’ll be called Wood Puppet.”

”You shall be Corpse puppet!” Wen Yu pointed at the miniature version of himself nearby.

Watching Wen Yu with a complex look, the miniature Wen Yu couldn’t help but shrink back a bit.

...

A week later.

Standing in the spacious Soul Experiment Lab, which resembled a Palace Underground, Wen Yu observed the earthen mound at the center, its Energy Fluctuations growing stronger. He casually grabbed a handful of air, infused it with Creation Energy, and threw it aside without a second thought.

Compared to the casually created Soul Abiogenetic Creations, the Mountain Kui about to emerge in front of him was clearly more exciting.

As if responding to Wen Yu’s call, the pulsating speed of the mound noticeably increased. In no time, the mound rapidly shrank, gradually disappearing.

Soon after, a broad, lustrous arm, as if made of glass, broke through the ground. In a short while, a tall earth elemental, entirely diamond-like in appearance, slowly emerged from the underground, standing before Wen Yu.

”Mountain Kui, at your service, Master.”

Seeing the bowing and bending Mountain Kui, Wen Yu’s eyebrows rose with a hint of pleasure as he observed from different angles, liking what he saw.

However, its physique remained around two meters tall. Though solid and well-proportioned, it hardly warranted the grand title of ”Mountain Kui.”

”Come on, punch me!”

Wen Yu eagerly adopted a stance ready to be hit. Upon receiving his command, Mountain Kui stood up, its glass-like fist launched like a cannonball, instantly striking Wen Yu’s chest.

Taking the punch head-on, Wen Yu only felt a sharp pain in his chest…

Not from the blow, but from surprise…

”Early Stage Level 6? Just like this? Only this much strength?”

Surprised, Wen Yu gazed at the mighty Mountain Kui before him, incredulous at how, after ten days and high expectations, an underwhelming entity had emerged.

The newborn Mountain Kui seemingly sensed Wen Yu’s surprise and embarrassment. Its radiant body slowly merged into the ground. If not for the enduring Spirit connection, Wen Yu might have thought it was too ashamed to live...

Just as Wen Yu was stroking his chin, keen to investigate the issue, the ground beneath him suddenly trembled, and the entire mountain quaked as if in an earthquake.

Until a vast and mighty voice resonated from the outside world.

”Mountain Kui, at your service, Master.”

Wen Yu was momentarily stunned before his body transformed into a streak of Black Light. Instantly, he shot through the ventilation shaft to the outside world, soaring skyward, witnessing the mound where his Soul Experiment Lab was located slowly transforming into a towering giant nearly three hundred meters high!

Limbs, head—the entire mountain had become an earth elemental giant, identical to the small Mountain Kui he just met in every way except color.

As if the shock for Wen Yu wasn’t enough, the giant’s Soul Fire burned fiercely, sweeping a vast Souln Fluctuation throughout the surroundings. Then, a gigantic fist, as large as a traditional courtyard, punched toward the floating Wen Yu.

The fist’s power and Black Light countered each other. Sensing the Mountain Kui’s strength, Wen Yu finally breathed a sigh of relief, nodding with satisfaction.

”Now that’s more like it.”

...

In the Soul Experiment Lab, Wen Yu sat in a chair, squeezing the little tree spirit while looking at the small Mountain Kui standing nearby.

”So, earlier, that was your true form, and this is a product of your imitation?”

”Correct, Master.”

The Mountain Kui responded.

”The energy provided by the Master was abundant, enabling me to transform the entire mountain into my true form. Then I wondered if I could create a carbon copy, since the main body is too large and unwieldy. So, I divided some Creation Energy and created this body that shares my thoughts.”

”Hmm.”

Wen Yu nodded in understanding and then asked again.

”By the way, do you have any skills?”

”I do not.”

The Mountain Kui shook its head.

”However, I possess something akin to instinctive talents.”

”Oh? Tell me more.”

Wen Yu’s interest was piqued.

”First is Assimilation Absorption. As long as there’s sufficient Creation Energy, I can continuously absorb nearby soil, expand my main body and enhance my strength.”

”Second is autonomous conversion of Creation Energy. I can autonomously absorb unusable Soul Energy from the surrounding air, convert it into Creation Energy for absorbing, or reserve it for other uses.”

”Lastly, Fission Reproduction. I can use the Creation Energy at my disposal to create Soul Abiogenetic Creations of my kind, like my descendants.”

”As for attack methods, they’re just conventional physical attacks without any special abilities.”

Wen Yu pondered for a long time before finally widening his eyes in astonishment, looking at the Mountain Kui standing nearby.

”You just mentioned an instinctive kind of talent... Could I conclude that the offspring you create also inherit these talents?”

The Mountain Kui nodded: ”Yes, it’s my instinct, carved deep within my soul. I imagine my offspring would likely inherit these talents as well.”

”Could it be that the moment you were born, you could create an entire race unto yourself?”

The Mountain Kui paused briefly, then nodded: ”Through self-growth and self-reproduction, strictly speaking, having created me means you indeed have created a race.”

”Yeah, the Earth Elemental Clan, that’s a simple way to put it.”

Usurping the power of the deity…

An introduction of the Soul Abiogenetic Creation suddenly flashed through his mind. Turning around, he looked at the array of ”various” puppets on the table absorbing and growing, and an inexplicable shiver ran down Wen Yu’s spine.
