Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1151: Chapter 1150: Guardian Beasts and Halftime

Yuno lay on the table, recalling how it once faced a survival crisis. If it hadn’t met that girl by chance, Yuno would have been dead by now.

But now, Yuno found itself in despair once more, as it realized it hadn’t escaped the shadow of death at all.

What made it even more desperate was that this time, no one would come to save it.

”You must be Yuno, right? Let me introduce myself. I’m Cerberus, the Guardian Beast created by the great Mage Kuro Reed...”

The stuffed toy beside Yuno, Little Ke, didn’t seem to notice Yuno’s gloom but instead greeted it enthusiastically.

As a ”benefit” of joining the Far East Magic Research Club, Fang Zheng allowed Little Sakura and Nanoha to bring their Guardian Beasts (or mascots) to school and place them in the club room. This move was welcomed by both since they were worried their companions might cause trouble at home. Nanoha might have had some trust in Yuno, but Little Sakura had no faith in Little Ke’s integrity.

This gluttonous, playful, and sleepy creature could sell itself at any moment.

”My name is Yuno...”

Faced with this talkative companion, Yuno was listless. Partially due to the exhaustion from the constant chatter, and partially due to the fear of death...

Because on the windowsill not far from Yuno, a white cat was sitting there, staring intently at it with unblinking eyes.

So Yuno decisively chickened out.

What terrified Yuno even more was that it found it had somehow lost the ability to transform into a human. If it could become human, Yuno might not have feared the cat, but now, all it could do was pray that snow mongoose wasn’t on the cat’s menu.

In fact, Yuno couldn’t even imagine that this was a seal placed on it by Fang Zheng.

For someone who transformed into an animal to peep on girls changing clothes, Fang Zheng thought this was quite a fitting punishment.

He even considered whether to neuter the snow mongoose directly...

But fortunately, Fang Zheng had already informed Nanoha of the snow mongoose’s true identity, so she never gave it any advantages.

Otherwise, Fang Zheng might have really neutered it.

After all, in the Main World’s magic, there is a ”Skill” known as the ”Ultimate Impotence Technique.”

Currently, there are four animals in the club room. Besides Yuno and Little Ke, there are two little black and white kittens. These cats were adored by everyone, including Nanoha and Little Sakura, with each girl holding them fondly, even making Yuno and Little Ke feel somewhat abandoned.

Of course, Yuno wouldn’t regard these two cats as ordinary animals, even though the black kitten mostly slept, sunbathed, or meowed cutely. Yet, every time the white cat gazed at the snow mongoose and Little Ke, its eyes would unmistakably convey a disdainful look of ”two idiots, a pair of fools,” which Yuno couldn’t misinterpret.

Initially, it tried to argue, but when the white cat impatiently stepped on it, revealing its fangs, Yuno immediately backed down submissively.

”Back when I used to adventure with Kuro Reed...”

Comparatively, Little Ke was obviously more thick-skinned. Having repressed itself for so long, this chatterbox was desperate for conversation. Usually, it pretended to be a doll at home to avoid being discovered by others, only free to chat when Little Sakura and Shisei returned home. Other times, it was stuck watching TV or playing games alone. Now having found a companion with shared interests that wouldn’t expose its identity and could stay together daily, Little Ke was thrilled and began boasting about its adventures with its creator, Kuro Reed.

Yuno chatted with Little Ke somewhat half-heartedly, while the little black kitten napped on the windowsill nearby, and the white cat sat on the other side, squinting as if contemplating something.

”Ding dong... dong dong...”

At this moment, the class bell rang. Hearing the bell, the snow mongoose abruptly raised its head, exhaling forcefully.

Moments later, a knock sounded at the door, followed by Little Sakura’s voice.

”Little Ke, you in there? I’m coming in, okay?”

As she spoke, Little Sakura opened the door and entered with Shisei.

”Little Sakura!”

Upon seeing Little Sakura, Little Ke leapt up joyfully, flying in circles in the air.

”You’re here.”

”Little Ke, you haven’t caused any trouble, have you?”

”No, no, I’m quite comfy here, just missing some sweets...”

As it spoke, Little Ke peeked slyly at Little Sakura, while Shisei beside her smiled slightly, retrieving a cake from the handbag and handing it to Little Ke.

”Here, I’ve prepared it for you.”

”Hooray!”

Seeing the cake Shisei handed over, Little Ke shouted excitedly, grabbing the cake and dancing jubilantly.

”Cake~ Cake~”

”These are for you.”

Of course, Shisei wouldn’t play favorites. After giving Little Ke a piece of cake, she took out three more pieces, placing them beside Yuno, the black kitten, and the white cat. Only Yuno picked up the cake, politely thanking Shisei, while the black kitten meowed cutely at Shisei, and the white cat lazily glanced at the cake, clearly having no intention of eating it.

”Hey, you’re here.”

Just then, Fang Zheng arrived at the club room with Illya and Little Hei.

”Teacher, what do they eat?”

Curious, Shisei asked Fang Zheng, who simply shrugged.

”Well, they don’t really need to eat, but occasionally they’ll munch on some fish for a change. For the little guy... cat food is best.”

Saying this, Fang Zheng approached the black kitten, lifting it into his arms, then casually taking out a cat biscuit. The black kitten meowed twice, grabbing the biscuit and nibbling on it in small bites.

”Ah, it’s really cute...”

Seeing this, Little Sakura and Shisei both showed affectionate expressions.

”Looks like Nanoha isn’t here?”

Little Hei looked around, noticing the absence of a familiar figure.

”She messaged earlier, saying she’s having lunch with friends today.”

Fang Zheng responded, handing over the duty of feeding the black kitten to Little Sakura and Shisei.

”Being with friends... that’s understandable.”

Hearing this, Little Hei nodded. It made sense; lunchtime was when friends gathered to chat. In the Far East Magic Research Club, Little Sakura and Shisei were a pair, and Illya and Little Hei were sisters (let’s not debate who the elder or younger is), leaving Nanoha alone.

Though their bonds had grown over time, Nanoha still had her own friends.

”She did ask me if she could let others join the Far East Magic Research Club, and I agreed.”

After handing the black kitten to Little Sakura and Shisei, Fang Zheng picked up the white cat from the windowsill, placing it on his lap to pet.

”Is that alright?”

”No problem. As long as they’re good kids, there’s no issue. Do you think our Heavenly Dao Palace has anything to fear?”

Fang Zheng was no longer the same, and indeed, he didn’t need to worry about such things.

”Beep—!!”

However, just then, a crisp alarm rang out in the room. Hearing it, Shisei, who was feeding the black kitten, immediately changed her expression, quickly putting the kitten down and opening her personal terminal. Soon, screens appeared out of thin air.

”Magic power detected... this is... Seed of Holy Stone!”

Observing the rapidly expanding vines in the distance, Shisei quickly tapped on the keyboard and promptly provided the answer.

”It’s finally here.”

At this moment, Fang Zheng also turned serious.

”Notify Nanoha, tell her to move out. Little Sakura, you, Illya, and Little Hei provide support and act on orders.”
