Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1186: Chapter 1185: An Eerie and Strange Beginning

Opening her eyes, the first thing she saw was pitch blackness.

Then, in the next moment, the scene before her instantly changed.

Black and white squares covered every inch, and everywhere there were bizarre decorations that looked like paper cutouts, featuring birds, flowers, grass, the sun...

”What is this...?”

The girls were dumbfounded as they stared at the scene before them, completely at a loss for words. They felt as if they had accidentally stepped into a child’s drawing, where everything looked like some bizarre children’s paradise.

”Gaw...gaw...”

At the same time, small shadowy figures that looked like they were cut out from paper began to appear. They moved as though they had arms and legs, wielding twisted black wire formations that seemed like scissors or perhaps scimitars.

These peculiar creatures waddled over, gradually surrounding the girls.

”What on earth are these things?!”

Watching these strange and unique entities, the girls were also taken aback, not knowing how to react.

”Whatever they are!”

At this moment, Little Hei was the first to step forward. She raised her hands, projecting two daggers while staring intently at the small creatures ahead.

”Let’s observe first. If they attack, they’re enemies. If they don’t, then maybe we can communicate!”

”That’s true.”

Hearing Little Hei’s words, the other girls came to their senses and nodded. Illya also turned her head to look at Fang Zheng.

”MASTER, what should we do now?”

”Little Hei is right, let’s watch and wait.”

Fang Zheng also looked at Shisei beside him and nodded. However, no one noticed the faint concern that appeared between Fang Zheng’s brows.

The reason was simple. Because just as they entered this world, Fang Zheng got a strange feeling.

How to say it... It felt like a heavy armor suddenly appeared outside his body, cutting off all his powers. Now, aside from his physical strength as the Swarm Overlord and Time Dragon, Fang Zheng couldn’t release any other powers!

Whether it was magic or Holy Light, not even his two Sword Sprites could be summoned.

Luckily, because it’s a technological device, his personal terminal escaped the effect, and he could still use it.

MMP, what on earth is this place!

Thinking this, Fang Zheng was quite displeased, but he wasn’t clueless. Thinking back, in the Magical Girl World of Little Sakura and Nanoha, he lost his magic power connection with Little Hei. Fang Zheng suspected it was because, in the Magical Girl World, magical girl’s priority was highest, and since he wasn’t a magical girl, he lost the connection. Fortunately, in that world, there were still characters like Kuro Reed and the Magitech Mentors of Mid Zhilanda who, while not magical girls, could still use magic. So Fang Zheng’s other powers weren’t prohibited.

However, in this world, he couldn’t use any power except his personal terminal... Could it be that only magical girls exist in this world?

This means, if he wants to exert his full power, he has to become a magical girl?!

MMP!

Fang Zheng silently glanced at the bracelet in his inventory.

Even if it kills me, or if I have to jump from here, I won’t transform!

Besides, with Illya, Little Hei, Nanoha, Fate, and Little Sakura here, what can’t they handle that requires me to intervene?

Forget it, I’ll just hang back this time.

If worse comes to worst, I’ll let Nanoha unleash a Starlight Burst.

”Gaw! Gaw!!”

At that moment, those bizarre creatures gradually approached the girls and then screamed, lifting their ”weapons” and charging at the girls!

”Swish!!”

However, the leading cloud mass was split in mid-air by Little Hei’s strike.

”There’s no doubt, they’re enemies! Attack!”

With this blow, the battle between the two sides erupted instantly.

Strictly speaking, these creatures weren’t much of a threat, but their behavior was just like those shadow creatures that infiltrated the Nanoha World before. They relentlessly attacked the magical girls, completely disregarding their own lives, with a fervor as if to perish together with the magical girls.

Unfortunately, even such fervor couldn’t bridge the gap between them. It’s worth noting that in their own world, people like Nanoha could easily eliminate these shadow creatures. Even in this world, their power wasn’t diminished. Moreover, these paper cutout creatures seemed even weaker than those shadow creatures. So it didn’t take long for the group to swiftly and efficiently wipe out all the paper cutout creatures surrounding them.

”—————!!”

With the last paper cutout creature’s defeat, the next moment the girls saw the world before them begin to warp and distort. The strange world, which had appeared like a fairy tale, gradually vanished, replaced by a cold but modern-looking warehouse.

”Phew... It seems it’s finally over.”

Little Hei lowered her weapon and sighed while glancing around. Illya frowned and tilted her head in confusion.

”But, what was that just now...”

At this moment, an icy voice suddenly spoke up.

”Those were familiars, the witch’s familiars.”

Hearing this voice, the girls were momentarily stunned, then quickly turned towards the source. Soon they saw a shadow leap down from a distant lamppost, landing in front of them.

It was a girl who appeared slightly older than them, with long, jet-black hair, wearing an unfamiliar school uniform. She stood there quietly, her dark eyes holding a curious gaze as she looked at the group before her.

”Are you... magical girls?”

”Are you a magical girl too?”

Seeing the girl in front of them, Nanoha and the others were quite surprised, but upon thinking about it, it wasn’t surprising that there would be magical girls in this world.

”Of course.”

The black-haired girl reached out, tidied her hair, and then took out a strange, pendant-like object from her hand.

”This is my Soul Gem... Now, you believe I’m a magical girl, right?”

As she displayed her Soul Gem to the group, the black-haired girl calmly said. She initially thought that upon seeing the gem in her hand, these magical girls would understand her identity. However, the reaction from the girls—dazed and confused—when they saw her Soul Gem caught the black-haired girl off guard.

”Soul Gem...?”

”... Eh?”

Seeing this unexpected reaction, the black-haired girl was stunned for a moment, then put away her Soul Gem, furrowing her brow slightly.

”Are you not magical girls who contracted with QB?”

”... QB?”

At this point, hearing the black-haired girl’s words, Illya, Nanoha, and the rest were completely baffled, having no idea what she was talking about.

Fortunately, it was at this time that Fang Zheng finally stepped forward.

”We have no idea what this Soul Gem or QB you’re talking about is, Miss.”

Fang Zheng emerged from the crowd, first patting little Illya’s head before he looked at the black-haired girl before him.

”Because we are from another world.”

”... Eh?”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s response, a trace of amazement and disbelief finally appeared on the black-haired girl’s previously expressionless face.

And seeing her expression, Fang Zheng narrowed his eyes, licking his lips with his tongue.

For some reason, upon seeing this black-haired girl, a powerful desire surged from the depths of Fang Zheng’s heart.

He wanted her!

Yes, just like when he saw Tokisaki Kurumi, the urge from his Time Dragon instincts erupted again in Fang Zheng upon seeing this black-haired girl—although he didn’t know what connection she had to this world...

But Fang Zheng had already made up his mind!

This girl... is mine!
