Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1173: Chapter 1172: A Battle That’s Strong, Cool, Beautiful, and Magnificent?

”That’s it for now!”

As Fang Zheng’s voice echoed, the magical girls who were battling immediately halted their actions and then uniformly landed in front of Fang Zheng.

”You’re all doing really well.”

With satisfaction, Fang Zheng glanced at the girls before him and began to evaluate their performance.

”Little Sakura has made great progress; she can now skillfully use three Clow Cards at once, and she has a good grasp of timing... Hmm, but you still need to pay attention to your timing when switching.”

”Yes, teacher.”

”As for Nanoha... there’s not much to say about your battle with Fate. But remember, this is training, not a life-and-death duel... If you can avoid using Starlight Burst, then don’t use it... You see, Fate gets a psychological shadow every time she sees you unleash Starlight Burst...”

”Ahahaha, sorry...”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s evaluation, Nanoha stuck out her tongue in embarrassment, while Fate silently glanced at her but didn’t say anything.

However, at this moment, Little Hei spoke up.

”But, big brother, fighting like this is really not satisfying.”

”Not satisfying?”

”Yes.”

Little Hei nodded vigorously.

”No matter what, training is still just training, right? We’re not going to lay into them mercilessly. All this practice by the book feels like it’s only going to have so much effect. After all, if we were fighting a real enemy, they wouldn’t stop right before hacking their necks like I do.”

”Hmm...”

Listening to Little Hei’s request, Fang Zheng also fell silent in thought. Just as Little Hei said, no matter how intense, training is still just training. Although Little Sakura, Nanoha, and Fate are progressing rapidly thanks to their protagonist aura, as Little Hei mentioned, training is still different from actual combat.

But you can’t really train them to the death, can you?

”If there were a training mode that’s both spectacular and beautiful, powerful and cool, that would be great...”

”Hahaha, how could that be possible...”

Upon hearing Little Hei’s wishful thinking, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but laugh, but soon, he suddenly froze.

”Wait... it might actually exist...”

”Eh?”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng say this, everyone was stunned.

”Does it really exist?”

”Hmm... wait a minute, thinking of it this way... it doesn’t seem technically difficult either...”

With this in mind, Fang Zheng seemed to have thought of something and clapped his hands.

”Nanoha, Fate, lend me your Magitech devices for a bit.”

”Okay.”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s request, Nanoha and Fate exchanged a glance and then obediently handed over Heart of the Rising Sun and Thunder Axe to Fang Zheng, who quickly collected the two Magitech devices, snapped his fingers, and lifted the barrier.

”Alright, I’ll prepare some strong, cool, spectacular, beautiful Magitech tools for you. Just wait!”

With these words, Fang Zheng turned and left, leaving the group of girls behind, staring at each other.

”What’s the teacher planning to do?”

”I have no idea...”

”But it sounds like it might be fun.”

At this point, Little Hei was quite excited too. She watched Fang Zheng’s back and couldn’t help but rub her hands eagerly.

”I really wonder what surprise Big Brother will bring us, I can’t wait!”

At this moment, Fang Zheng had already arrived at Precia’s residence and found her.

”Precia, I’ve come up with an idea.”

”Master, what’s the idea?”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s words, Precia hurriedly stood up, respectfully looking at him. Ever since Elysia’s revival, Precia had discarded her heavily made-up appearance and opted for a more refreshing, light look. But truth be told, Fang Zheng wondered why Precia used to make herself up like that. If he remembered correctly from the animation, Precia didn’t wear much makeup before losing Elysia, and her clean natural look was quite refreshing.

After Elysia passed away, she made herself look bizarre, even wearing tight black clothing and cloaks, with black eyeshadow and purple lipstick... You could say it was an intense rebellious phase for a teenager, but an adult doing this, regardless of being dispirited, wouldn’t resort to heavy metal makeup... right?

Honestly, every time Fang Zheng saw Precia, he wanted to ask this question, but considering her psychological resilience... Nowadays, everyone has a bit of a dark past, wouldn’t you agree?

”Are you making Elysia’s Magitech device?”

Fang Zheng glanced over and soon saw an unfinished Magitech device on Precia’s workbench. Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s question, Precia nodded.

”Yes, I’m redesigning the Magitech device according to your request... To be honest, it is still rather challenging for me, so it requires some time to complete.”

Upon recruiting Precia, Fang Zheng’s first request was for her to integrate the personal terminal’s hard light armor with Nanoha World’s Magitech device, creating an entirely new Magitech device. This was because Fang Zheng valued a feature of Nanoha World’s Magitech devices.

And that is — non-lethality!

That’s right, even though Nanoha World often has explosive battles, real fatalities are rare. Fate and Viviore have both taken Starlight Burst, if Fang Zheng’s use of magic power were applied, those two would have long been gone. Yet, after taking it, they merely fainted, which shows the importance of non-lethal magic.

Fang Zheng didn’t wish for his young girls to be immersed in constant fights and murders. If real fighting were required, the Swarm would suffice. When they need to battle, non-lethal weaponry would clearly allow them to fight more freely, without the fear of killing an enemy and getting counter-killed instead.

Fang Zheng was tired of these clichéd scenarios.

With these Mid-style Magitech devices, Fang Zheng’s young girls could unleash Starlight Burst at will... Alright, strictly speaking, this might not be the best idea either.

But just moments ago, when Little Hei was pestering Fang Zheng, he suddenly thought of something.

Think about it, in the future, they’ll have many battles not only on the ground but also in the sky and in space. In such situations, with the current setup, Fang Zheng’s young girls could only manage something akin to an assault landing Marine Corps.

So, is there a way to let these young girls battle cosmic warships in space?

At least, they should be able to best a drone, right?

But upon further thought, Fang Zheng realized, he found just the thing!

A combat mode that’s both strong, cool, beautiful, and spectacular!

”I plan to add a brand new function to the Magitech device.”

”A brand new function?”

Upon hearing this, Precia’s expression changed slightly. Though her time with Fang Zheng was short, she had come to understand his personality.

Truthfully, Precia was grateful to Fang Zheng, whether for reviving Elysia or allowing her to be with her daughter. Still, there was one aspect where Precia wasn’t very satisfied.

And that is Fang Zheng’s love for unexpectedly appearing and gleefully telling her... ”I’ve got a new idea.”

For instance, during the initial manufacturing of the Magitech device, this master didn’t say much, then midway through, he approached her, requesting to integrate Magitech devices with strange technology called hard light armor into the personal terminal, which left Precia feeling flustered. Now that she’s finally resolved the compatibility issue between the Magitech device and hard light armor, hasn’t had the chance to test it, this master finds her again and says he wants to add another new function...

”So, master, what new function do you want to add?”

”Simple.”

Faced with Precia’s query, Fang Zheng smiled slightly.

”Have you heard of Spell Card Battle?”
