Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1172: Chapter 1171: You’re Courting Death

Meanwhile, far away on the Asura warship, Admiral Lindy sat in her seat, looking worried.

Although on the surface it seemed that the mission was successfully completed, the dimensional tremor was prevented, and the Seed of Holy Stone, as an ancient relic, was fully recovered, Admiral Lindy always had an uneasy feeling, especially today. She had a very bad premonition, so much so that she didn’t even go for her favorite afternoon tea, instead, she sat in the command room, dazing.

”Beep beep ———!”

Just as Admiral Lindy put down her teacup and sighed, a sharp alarm suddenly sounded. Immediately afterward, her subordinate Emily’s voice came through.

”Admiral, communication from the Dimensional Headquarters of the Space-Time Bureau.”

It’s here after all.

Hearing Emily’s report, Admiral Lindy sighed. Then, she straightened her clothes, and her expression became solemn.

”Connect.”

”Yes.”

With Emily’s words, the next moment, a stern and gloomy face of a middle-aged man about fifty years old appeared on the screen in front of Admiral Lindy. He was wearing a deep blue admiral uniform of the Space-Time Bureau and nodded slightly at Lindy.

”Hello, Admiral Lindy, long time no see.”

”Yes, Admiral Kuran, it’s been a while indeed.”

Looking at this middle-aged man, Lindy felt even more uneasy.

”What can I do for headquarters?”

”Headquarters has reviewed the report you sent.”

The man named Admiral Kuran gave a slight smile, complimenting Lindy. However, to Lindy, that smile looked entirely forced.

”Successfully recovering the ancient relic and preventing the outbreak of a dimensional tremor, you did well, but......”

See, there it is, the ’but.’

”...... Why was there no further report on the organization called Heavenly Dao Palace mentioned in your report?”

Indeed......

Upon hearing the question, Lindy sighed helplessly in her mind. In fact, she had deliberately downplayed the existence of the Heavenly Dao Palace and Fang Zheng in her report, but clearly, the Space-Time Bureau wasn’t so easily fooled...... though she had anticipated this too.

”We did not have further contact with them. As stated in the report, we only cooperated with them on this matter.”

”Cooperation?”

Admiral Kuran’s face was as grave as entering a hundred-meter deep sea, almost visible with the shadow of a demon creature.

”Then why did you not bring back Precia Testarossa, the main culprit of this incident?”

”Precia Testarossa admitted her mistakes and voluntarily surrendered all the ancient relics. I believe......”

Yet before Lindy could argue further, Admiral Kuran interrupted her.

”She attacked the Space-Time Bureau’s transport ship! This is a very serious crime! In any case, you must arrest her and bring her back. If she has really realized her mistake, then the Space-Time Bureau will give her a suitable verdict.”

”......”

Hearing this, Lindy was completely speechless. She hesitated for a moment and then decided to speak directly.

”Sorry, Admiral Kuran, I believe you have seen in the report, Precia has currently been detained by the Heavenly Dao Palace. Considering all that the Heavenly Dao Palace has done in this incident, I believe handing Precia over to them for disposal is a reasonable decision to avoid further trouble.”

”Silence!”

Admiral Kuran harshly slapped the table, interrupting Lindy’s report.

”Precia violated the laws of the Space-Time Bureau, and it must be our Space-Time Bureau to conduct the judgment. This is the rule, and also the order! Moreover, about this organization called Heavenly Dao Palace...... I see in your report that their main responsibility is to protect humanity and the Earth within the Dimensional World?”

”That’s correct.”

”If so, then they should cooperate with our Space-Time Bureau even more, haven’t you conducted negotiations with them on behalf of the Space-Time Bureau?”

Here it comes after all.

Hearing this, Lindy sighed again. She was well aware of the insider dynamics of the Space-Time Bureau. This organization, despite not being recently established, always engaged in power struggles between the Dimensional Headquarters, Ground Headquarters, and the Holy King’s Church. The Dimensional Headquarters always tries every way to absorb forces or personnel encountered from other worlds to boost their power. But the problem is......

”I have negotiated with the supreme leader of the Heavenly Dao Palace, but they stated that their purpose is to protect the Earth and the circle of human civilization and are not interested in anything else.”

”In that case, they should not detain the wanted criminal of the Space-Time Bureau without permission!”

”I have said, Admiral Kuran.”

At this point, Lindy’s tone unwittingly became firmer.

”I believe it is a very suitable judgment. The Earth isn’t within our Space-Time Bureau’s jurisdiction; we have no authority to stop local forces from exercising their control. The Heavenly Dao Palace’s handling of Precia Testarossa is, in my view, very appropriate, so I have no need to intervene unnecessarily.”

”But this concerns the face of our Space-Time Bureau. If you retreat on this matter, wouldn’t that make the organization called Heavenly Dao Palace look down on us?”

”They have very powerful magitech mentors......”

”But according to the report, we didn’t see the Heavenly Dao Palace possessing the power to contend against the Dimensional Fleet, did we? Admiral Lindy?”

”...... What do you mean by this?”

Hearing this, Lindy immediately raised her eyebrows, staring fixedly at the man on the screen in front of her.

”What I mean is...”

As he spoke, Admiral Kuran placed both hands on the table and stood up.

”We must prove that the laws of our Space-Time Bureau are sacred and inviolable, and no one, no matter where they flee or what protection they receive, can escape smoothly after violating the Space-Time Bureau’s laws. What if such a precedent is set? No matter what, this precedent cannot be set!”

”This does not conform to regulations, and as a member of the Dimensional Fleet, I cannot......”

”I understand.”

Kuran waved his hand.

”I understand you have your duties, so I have already dispatched the Fifth Fleet, directly under the Dimensional Headquarters, to Earth to carry out the capture mission of Precia Testarossa!”

As expected!

Upon hearing this, Lindy bowed her head; the thing she feared had still happened. The Fifth Fleet possessed a total of fifteen dimensional battleships, its combat power being the top-notch in the dimensional world. There was no need to send a fleet to capture just one Precia. Evidently, the Space-Time Bureau was planning to display power to the Heavenly Dao Palace!

Although, in theory, as Lindy saw it, the Heavenly Dao Palace itself didn’t possess the power to contend against the Space-Time Bureau Dimensional Fleet, but......

”I oppose this, Admiral Kuran.”

Lindy raised her head again, looking towards the man on the screen in front of her.

”I will report my objections to headquarters.”

”Do as you please.”
