Chapter 1153: Chapter 1152: The Mysterious Shadow Creature

As Fang Zheng expected, the Shadow Creatures appeared once again.

Just like before, these Shadow Creatures immediately launched an attack on Nanoha and the blonde girl as soon as they appeared. Faced with the assault of these Shadows, the blonde girl appeared quite surprised, but she clearly had no intention of staying here any longer. Taking advantage of the moment Nanoha was being entangled by the Shadow Creatures, the blonde girl quickly flew up, retrieved the sealed Seed of Holy Stone, and promptly retreated.

When Fang Zheng and others emerged from the Teleportation Array, the blonde girl had already disappeared into the horizon.

”Teacher!”

Upon seeing Fang Zheng arrive, Nanoha, who was fighting the Shadow Creatures, also shouted out happily, while Fang Zheng glanced at her, nodded, and then took out the Pitch Black Greatsword, pointing it forward.

”Take down these guys!”

The offensive of the Shadow Creatures remained fierce.

But unlike before, this time everyone came prepared, including Nanoha and Little Sakura, who had already made preparations for being ambushed by these Shadow Creatures, hence handling them became much more effortless. Plus Fang Zheng, Illya, and Little Hei joined in, no matter how crazed the attack of the Shadow Creatures was, it could not cause any harm to them.

However... if they keep fighting like this in the real world...

Watching Little Hei unleash a ”False Spiral Sword,” directly blasting a huge pit on the opposite side, Fang Zheng also twitched the corner of his eye, then once again raised the Pitch Black Greatsword in his right hand.

”Seal...”

However, just as Fang Zheng was about to unfold Sealing, a strange scene occurred again.

The Shadow Creatures that had been frantically attacking suddenly seemed to sense something and started retreating at high speed, their speed so fast it seemed as if the whole front had completely collapsed.

Seeing this, Fang Zheng also felt a stir in his heart and forcibly halted the release of Sealing.

As Fang Zheng terminated the activation of Sealing, those Shadow Creatures retreating as if seeing some terrifying entity stopped once again; they seemed uncertain, hesitating as if not knowing what had happened. But quickly, with the shriek of one Shadow Creature, they once again lunged at the prey in front of them.

Could they be afraid of Sealing?

Watching these Shadow Creatures, Fang Zheng grew even more curious. What kind of creatures are these Shadows? He was sure this stuff was not originally from this world, so what exactly is it?

”Little Hei.”

Thinking of this, Fang Zheng already had an idea. He called to Little Hei and gestured to her. Hearing Fang Zheng’s call, Little Hei nodded knowingly, then swiftly retracted her Dual Sword, leaping back. Meanwhile, dozens of Longswords materialized around Little Hei, and with a swift flick of her hands, they shot forward, encircling the Shadow Creatures in layers before their eyes.

At the same time, Fang Zheng raised his right hand, magic radiance congealed at his fingertips, transforming into mysterious and complex Runes.

”Binding Technique!”

Several beams crossed, binding a few Shadow Creatures within, then Fang Zheng once again raised the Pitch Black Greatsword in his hand.

”Sealing!!!”

This time, the Shadow Creatures hesitated no longer, almost the instant Fang Zheng unleashed Sealing; they screeched and retreated rapidly, disappearing into thin air. Only the unlucky ones left trapped by the Binding Technique desperately tried to flee. Fang Zheng could see their bodies continuously writhing and morphing, sometimes turning into mist and dispersing, sometimes solidifying into entities. It seems previously these Shadow Creatures used this method to evade their pursuit.

But this time they weren’t as fortunate.

”Is this the true nature of those Demon Creatures?”

At this moment, Little Sakura, Nanoha, and Illya also approached Fang Zheng, curiously observing these bound Demon Creatures.

”Boom!!”

But what none of them expected was, as soon as they got close, those Shadow Creatures immediately became agitated, desperately swinging their palms, fiercely pounding against the Binding Barrier in front of them, uttering muddled roars, as if seeing an enemy that killed their father.

”Uh, wow.”

This sudden reaction startled the girls, causing them to step back, nervously watching these Demon Creatures.

”What are they?”

”I’m not quite sure either.”

Fang Zheng squinted his eyes as he carefully inspected the Demon Creatures within the Binding Barrier, while he answered.

”At the moment, these things seem to be some kind of energy entities... Hmm, I’ve got an idea.”

Rubbing his chin, Fang Zheng quickly lifted the Sealing, then he again turned to the girls behind him.

”Little Sakura, Nanoha, Illya, Little Hei, find a place to hide.”

”Hide?”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s strange request, everyone showed a puzzled expression, while Little Hei excitedly beamed a smile.

”Playing hide and seek here, big brother?”

”No, I intend to conduct an experiment; find a place to hide well, don’t let these creatures see you.”

”Got it.”

Though not knowing what Fang Zheng planned to do, the girls obediently nodded, then found a place to hide.

Curiously, once the girls left the view of the Shadow Creatures, these Shadow Creatures suddenly quieted down, their movements stopped, each one appeared like a puppet, either sitting or lying...

”Huh?”

At this moment, Fang Zheng suddenly heard Shisei’s voice.

”Teacher, these Shadows...”

”What about these Shadows?”

Hearing Shisei speak, Fang Zheng raised his eyebrows, then asked, and Shisei hesitated for a moment before answering.

”These Shadows... could be just my illusion, but I see them resembling humans...”

”Humans?”

”Yes... how should I say it... like a shadow cast on the wall by a person wearing strange clothes... like that.”

”Oh?”

Hearing this, Fang Zheng inspected the Shadow Creatures closely, indeed detecting some oddities.

For instance, the Shadow Creature standing before him, if viewed solely by shape, Fang Zheng would assume it was a jellyfish monster with several tentacles on its head. However, after listening to Shisei, Fang Zheng consciously viewed it from a human perspective, discovering the shadow did resemble a human.

Its head was not tentacles, but seemed more like a cowlick. Fang Zheng even saw its chest and waistline, and its lower body, if viewed from a human angle, seemingly resembled wearing a bizarre skirt for ballet dancing... indeed, when put this way, it did look like a person.

Furthermore, perhaps a girl?

With this thought, Fang Zheng again glanced at other Shadow Creatures, finding it was the same scenario for them, some appearing to wear cloaks, others looking like wearing a robe, even some that seemed to wear nothing... well, anyway, they’re just shadows, nothing could be discerned.

What on earth are these?

Fang Zheng curiously studied these Shadow Creatures, but they seemed completely oblivious to his presence, just sitting or standing, motionless. Even though Fang Zheng whirled around in front of them, they didn’t react at all. Witnessing this scene, Fang Zheng pondered for a moment, then sent Little Sakura a message.

”Little Sakura, come over here.”

”Alright, teacher.”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s call, Little Sakura hurriedly ran out from behind a hidden rock.

”Roar—!”

However, as soon as Little Sakura arrived beside Fang Zheng, those previously obedient looking Shadows suddenly charged forward, attempting to attack Little Sakura.

Subsequently, Fang Zheng successively replaced her with Nanoha, Illya, and Little Hei, yielding the same results.

Yet conversely, when these individuals were absent, the Shadow Creatures remained eerily quiet, as if corpses, perfectly motionless, Fang Zheng even cast a spell attack on one, yet even when subjected to Magic Power erosion and assault, these Shadow Creatures bore not a single reaction.

As if they were truly dead.

Only attack Magical Girls, Demon Creatures?

Thinking of this, Fang Zheng’s expression grew increasingly puzzled.

Shouldn’t these be Tentacle Monsters?
