Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 601: Chapter 601 Still Not Detailed Enough

He Meng repeatedly poked the interface, and the information that popped up did not change at all.

The game panel would not deceive Yang Yu; the Goddess Sect Saintess had been declared dead, she was indeed dead.

From the appearance of the task to its end, it was so brief that Yang Yu had not even reunited with Bai Jin and Iyas.

From Yang Yu’s perspective, the system had given him an impossible task.

Even though he had known from the start that failure was inevitable if he ignored such an urgent task, when failure finally came, he couldn’t help but feel somewhat disappointed.

According to Yang Yu’s extensive RPG experience, there would usually be clues hinting at significant events beforehand to allow players to prepare in advance.

Perhaps, it was because he hadn’t been attentive enough.

He couldn’t blame himself for that; if there was to be blame, it would be on the Curse Sect’s tight-lipped nature, possessing a rather unyielding defiance.

Feeling that no one would reveal any secrets, Yang Yu had no choice but to eventually make a decisive move.

Thinking back, in many games, many people would not disclose any information to the protagonist on their first encounter, only after meeting certain conditions would they start to reveal more.

Regarding this, Yang Yu had something he definitely wanted to say.

“Damn it, who designed the game mechanics of this world, couldn’t you make the characters with special hints stand out more?”

Yang Yu simply couldn’t imagine that the “little soldiers,” who attacked without uttering a word, harbored earth-shattering secrets.

Enemies who kept secrets, even when they were about to die, should spit out bits of information, saying “Even if you can save the elves, can you save the world? Let me tell you, XXXXX,” mocking the protagonist.

How come in his case, everyone acted like they were part of the Suicide Squad, shouting “For the Demon Lord” and then sacrificing their life and soul, turning into Titans?

However, through this task, Yang Yu realized something: the Curse Sect was a sect that acted swiftly and decisively, killing whoever they wanted without hesitation.

The Saintess was a considerable threat to them and the Demon they intended to summon.

They would not hesitate to kill the Saintess; they certainly wouldn’t foolishly lock her up in prison waiting for the protagonist to rescue her.

Such iron-handed, decisive actions were simply breathtaking.

If there weren’t a Demon King behind it all, Yang Yu would truly believe the Curse Sect was the real BOSS of this world.

After some reflection, Yang Yu did not remove this failed task but placed it at the top of his taskbar to remind himself to seek details more carefully and make decisions cautiously.

The news that the Goddess Sect’s Saintess had been killed by the Curse Sect would inevitably spread.

Pressured by the domestic Goddess Sect, the Luo Ze Empire would certainly deploy a significant force to investigate the true cause of the Saintess’s death.

For Wansheng Country, this was an unprecedented opportunity. As long as the Luo Ze Empire was distracted, Wansheng Country dared to launch a fierce winter offensive like a flood, reclaiming lost territory.

In fact, someone in Wansheng Country might be in league with the Curse Sect to encourage war; perhaps the Saintess’s hunt was part of some influential person’s plan in Wansheng Country.

Casually closing the panel, Yang Yu was not really afraid of the national ministers who colluded with the Curse Sect; he was more concerned about both warring sides not being able to bring the war to an end.

Currently, there was one more matter deserving Yang Yu’s attention: how far the Hero had progressed in the rescue.

Unlike himself, Hero Volcrix was not bound by any tasks; upon receiving a task, he should have immediately headed to the Luo Ze Empire.

Perhaps he had already made contact with people from the Goddess Sect, and began to actively engage in investigating the whereabouts of the Holy Maiden; perhaps he was still on his way…

As for where Volcrix was and what he was doing, Yang Yu could not be sure.

If the heroic warrior was in the Luo Ze Empire, it was likely that he might participate in the war between Wansheng Country and the Luo Ze Empire, undertaking the same task as himself.

Yang Yu always felt that the method he had finally found to close the gap could be easily obtained by the heroic warrior.

However, this heroic warrior was too self-centered, such a person could not become a leader of an army.

Thinking of this, Yang Yu actually looked forward to the heroic warrior becoming a leader of the enemy forces; it might provide a breakthrough to reverse the situation of the war.

His thoughts stopped there; Yang Yu rubbed his forehead with one hand to relieve the fatigue caused by thinking.

Before the news officially returned, Yang Yu planned to watch developments, not bothering with things he couldn’t reach at the moment.

After all, he started from scratch and thus had nothing to lose; as long as his team faced no issues, even if the death of the Holy Maiden took the world in a worse direction, there was still hope for salvation.

Yang Yu had always believed in keeping the green hills alive to ensure no worry about a lack of fuel.

Thinking about the net the Curse Sect might lay to hunt down the Holy Maiden, Yang Yu soon let go and focused on crafting his future plans.

After completing the reception for the elf, Yang Yu was about to start his new appointment right away.

Over the past few days, Yang Yu had gained his unique perspective on the situation and still needed to work hard to climb up to get the upper echelons of the Wansheng Country to accept his views.

…

…

Time flew by swiftly.

Soon, the day arrived to welcome the elves.

Baihua City, with many people serving on the battlefield, had many vacant houses, and Ming Dalak planned to use these vacant homes to accommodate the first ten thousand elves that arrived.

Ming Dalak had never intended to gather all the elves together; on the contrary, he consciously dispersed them throughout Baihua City and then set up schools teaching Holy Light at the centers where they were living.

This approach had two benefits: first, it helped the elves learn how to coexist with other subhumans quickly; second, there was no need to build houses specifically for elves, reducing expenditures.

The training venues were well-constructed; Yang Yu had heard that according to Ming Dalak’s plan, after training together, the elves would still return to their designated accommodations, with joint training accounting for only a quarter of all training.

Having refreshed himself, Yang Yu picked up He Meng and threw him onto Lotcar’s back, heading for Blood Lion’s residence.

The spacious mansion was ideal for receiving a large number of people.

Upon arriving at Blood Lion’s residence, the gates to Blood Lion’s mansion were wide open. The elves, following the Priest, orderly walked into Blood Lion’s mansion, looking curiously all around while tightly following the group as if afraid of getting lost.

Yang Yu did not specifically look for Bai Jing and Iyas. Instead, he followed the elves through the gate, gathering on the spacious plain.

In front of Blood Lion’s large mansion, Qian Xialan, standing in for her ill father, met with the Elf Queen.

Wan Huawen, as the protector of the Royal Family, stood not far from Qian Xialan, witnessing the conversation between the two, his alert gaze sweeping around.

Soon, he noticed Yang Yu.
