Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 645: Chapter 197 Cooperation Intentions_4

First use the Superspace Teleportation Engine, and then use the Ordinary Teleportation Engine.

This is the value of Chen Ming’s research.

Of course, this thing has its drawbacks as well.

For instance, like the ordinary Teleportation Engine, it requires a cooldown time.

Moreover, because Chen Ming designed the device based on the gravitational well of Superspace, it is limited by its system’s design.

So even when jumping in Superspace, which is more confined compared to the normal universe environment, the actual efficiency of the jump cannot match that of a standard Teleportation Engine.

The limit for Superspace jumps is about half the distance of a max jump in a normal universe environment.

Furthermore, there are limitations on the coordinates of the Superspace Teleportation Engine.

Although Superspace and the normal universe environment are similar, essentially having a scaled enlargement or reduction relationship,

due to the gravitational effects of various planets causing various strange curvatures and other cosmic environmental influences, the actual coordinates in Superspace and those in the normal universe do not completely align, and instead, there are certain deviations.

This means that the Superspace Navigation Teleportation Engine must have very precise coordinates to execute a jump.

Otherwise, if there is a deviation, the endpoint of the jump might appear in a high-density Superspace Channel cloud and be struck near-dead by Superspace lightning.

It could even be directly pulled into the gravitational well of a star within a Star System and torn to pieces.

However, overall, as long as there are accurate coordinates, there should be no problems.

Therefore, this system can be used in any Star System that humans have set foot in and where Superspace information has been recorded. Problems shouldn’t occur.

Moreover, this system has another downside.

It is mounted on the Superspace Navigation System and, like the Superspace Navigation System, is easily interfered with.

Any Superspace Navigation System jamming device can directly halt its jump process.

Compared to the Teleportation Engine, which requires sealing an entire Star System to prevent its use, it is extremely fragile.

However, even with these various drawbacks, they cannot overshadow its advantages.

The coordinates in Superspace can be obtained, fuel can be resolved through logistics, and the military will definitely have ways to handle interference issues.

As for the issue of being able to perform only one jump, that’s not really a problem at all.

Because until now, almost all spacecraft can only perform one jump under normal circumstances.

How could this additional jump be considered a disadvantage? On the contrary, it has a clear strategic significance for any military operation at any time.

In a situation where not everyone, like Chen Ming, can use a teleportation device almost infinitely, multiple jumps are a very significant advantage.

So it’s perfectly understandable that Bai Quan has come over to handle it personally.

After confirming with Chen Ming, Bai Quan also began to express his, or rather the Fourteenth Legion’s, thoughts.

”Regarding your technology, our current decision is definitely to cooperate with you to develop it and subsequently block this technology externally, solely for use within our military.”

Just as Chen Ming was about to speak, Bai Quan preemptively said: ”We can certainly see that the potential of your technology is not limited to military use alone.”

”But is sufficient to allow the low-grade ships of the entire Empire to take a major leap in mobility as a top-tier technology.”

”Yet for this reason, we must restrict it.”

”You may not understand, but in fact, the Empire has always purposely limited the development of civilian Superspace Navigation technology.”

Before Chen Ming could ask a question, Bai Quan continued to explain on his own: ”Because current civilian Superspace Navigation technology in the Empire has developed to a sufficient level.”

To which Chen Ming interjected, asking: ”Sufficient?”

”That’s right.”

”Military ships can use the Teleportation Engine and Star Gate to move far beyond Superspace speeds, while civilian ships often can only move after lengthy approval or slowly navigate through Superspace, and that is sufficient.”

”As for why? What’s the reason behind this? I think you should understand.”
