Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 632: Chapter 194: Thoughts_3

The charge weapon uses special charge bullets that can generate explosions and arcs upon impact.

Chen Ming finds it quite promising.

Although his fleet mainly uses energy weapons now, and this is a solid projectile, the effect is indeed good.

First, steal... no, learn first, you never know when it might come in handy.

Moreover, since Chen Ming only fought twice with the Mechanical Race and already acquired the charge weapon, it means the Empire must have obtained the charge weapon samples earlier than him.

But since Chen Ming has never learned about the related knowledge, the Empire must have sealed off the intelligence of this weapon for military use.

With military quality assurance, Chen Ming wouldn’t lose out by learning it.

Lastly, Chen Ming has only one of the heavy Mechanical Race units, which is the [Purgatory Demon King].

Speaking of which, Chen Ming suddenly noticed that the naming of this Purgatory Demon King is different from the insect-related Mechanical Race units.

It’s unknown if some civilization has a special interest in insects or if the Empire’s translation has some peculiar quirks.

In short, these are the types of Mechanical Race units controlled by Chen Ming at present.

But the Mechanical Race surely has more models.

It’s just that due to Chen Ming finding two Mechanical Race cities where one was already in decline on the civilization’s border and the other was a developing colony, this situation arose.

After summarizing the obtained Mechanical Race units, Chen Ming took the opportunity to also organize all the units of the Insect Race, including the individual units evolved by the Insect Queen during combat.

Apart from the initially available [Striding Insect], [Giant Spider], [Bubble Insect], and [Shell Insect].

It includes the [Blood Burst Insect], which, although not very noticeable, has always been effective.

It disrupts the normal operation of the Mechanical Race by spraying a large amount of Insect Race blood through self-destruction. Though it dies quickly, it indeed serves its purpose well.

Chen Ming still hasn’t figured out the principle of how Insect Race blood interferes with the operation of the Mechanical Race, but it doesn’t affect his use of the blood, though investigation is needed if time permits.

Additionally, the main force pushing on the front line of the Insect Race and Mechanical Race battlefield earlier, the largest unit, simply and brutally named by Chen Ming as the [Titan Insect].

The [Liquid Crystal Worm], which can spray unstable and explosive energy crystal liquid.

The [Conical Crystal Insect], which can launch a conical product combined from Insect Race carapace and energy crystals, used by the Insect Queen to intercept Blazing Silkworm Cannon bombardment.

There is also the temporarily manufactured [Fungal Liquid Insect], able to spray a large amount of adhesive fungus, though it is purely used to constrain the Wandering Moth type of airborne Mechanical Race units.

Its limitation is too great, with too few scenarios in which it can play a role, rendering it not very meaningful.

However, another [Scorpion Fly] is comparatively more valuable, a high-speed flight melee Insect Race unit, particularly useful against the relatively fragile rear of the Mechanical Race.

The pitch-black shell provides it with great protection and sharp weapons, with no apparent drawbacks except being easily exterminated by area fire attacks such as from Blazing Silkworm.

The final remaining insect, called [Parasite] by Chen Ming, was a key turnaround when the Insect Queen almost failed.

It directly controlled a large number of Mechanical Race centipedes and advanced all the way to the center of the city.

It was also crucial in helping Chen Ming acquire so many Mechanical Race units.

It can only be said that the Insect Race has evolved to a very powerful level unconsciously.

Some units of the Insect Race may be useless when singled out, but when all of these insects belong to one Insect Nest, they have an unparalleled advantage in ground combat.

Of course, the Insect Race also has shortcomings, such as the long time required for breeding.

The breeding of the Insect Race now mainly relies on the Insect Queen actively controlling the Fungal Mat to generate Insect Race larvae.

Then, if needed, transform the larvae into different adult forms.

Overall, it requires a relatively long time and needs the Insect Queen’s constant attention.

Which is why it took such a long time to prepare when attacking the Mechanical Race city.

However, Chen Ming already has some ideas about this problem.

It’s for the Insect Queen to figure out how to evolve a factory akin to that of the Mechanical Race, a biotech factory unique to the Insect Race.

The Mechanical Race can rely on assembly lines in factories to produce Mechanical Race units, but once separated from the Insect Queen, Chen Ming has to figure out a way to produce new insects.

But if this idea can be realized where the Insect Queen can create a few breeding factories like those of the Mechanical Race, even without its control, it could autonomously produce Insect Race units.

That would be extremely valuable for Chen Ming.

Moreover, Chen Ming doesn’t necessarily need the Insect Queen to fully realize his idea.

Chen Ming only needs the Insect Queen to create a prototype, and the rest can be completed with his spiritual energy.

Chen Ming could also take the opportunity to research the idea he had when he saw the Purgatory Demon King, alongside the Insect Queen’s research on Insect Race architecture.

Which is to manufacture special individuals belonging to the Insect Race and to Chen Ming himself, with powerful abilities.

Although the special individuals of the Insect Race may not have the outrageous combat capability brought by the Purgatory Core usage in the Purgatory Demon King.

But Chen Ming’s spiritual energy always finds some unexpected effects, and the Insect Race currently possesses spiritual energy inherently.
