Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 601: Chapter 186: Pre-War Preparations_4

”You know, when a starship warps, there’s also a warp fluctuation at the target location, right? You need to apply the equipment at the location where the warp fluctuation occurs to disrupt the warping process of the incoming starship.”

Seeing Chen Ming’s thoughtful expression, Bai Quan added, ”I should have mentioned to you in class a couple of days ago that the battlefield situation often changes due to external interference.”

”An excellent commander needs to determine where the enemy is coming from when it’s clear they have reinforcements, as this can change the entire battlefield situation.”

Chen Ming nodded and said, ”I remember, but you just mentioned it casually.”

”Indeed, mainly because we hadn’t reached this knowledge point in class yet.”

”You’re encountering a situation that requires this device a bit ahead of time, but since you’ve been out, it’s normal to encounter some unexpected situations.”

”In short, this kind of equipment needs to be installed and activated in advance at the right place to disrupt the warp fluctuations, preventing the starship from warping over.”

”Although it has its drawbacks, generally, using it once is enough.”

”Stopping a warp once will cause the starship’s Teleportation Engine over there to directly enter cooldown, so there won’t be subsequent starship warps for a short time.”

”You must judge the location where the Mechanical Race will appear and use it accordingly.”

”And you also need to be mentally prepared for the possibility of failure; don’t treat this device as your trump card.”

”I got it.”

”Hmm.”

Bai Quan paused to think for a moment, then continued, ”I remember this thing seems to have circulated out, and because the effect is quite limited, the control isn’t very strict.”

”I can discreetly get up to two units for you here, priced at Black Market rates.”

”I recall your fleet that’s left within the borders has been quite active, right? The entire Galor Star Realm knows the name of your fleet.”

”Moreover, a Zuo Jing outpost was apparently taken down by your fleet a while back. And recently, it was also your fleet that took down a Zuo Jing occupying the Space Station, right? You shouldn’t be short on money.”

”It’s alright, I’m a bit short, but I should be able to afford it.”

It seems that Chen Ming just earned some money, and within a few days of getting it, he’ll have to spend it on such large equipment again.

But Chen Ming believes that compared to the final gains, he definitely won’t lose out.

”I’ll take both units, but what about that signal jamming device? Does it also need money? And is it really alright for you to sell military supplies like this?”

Bai Quan sent two invoices to Chen Ming and said, ”Of course money is needed, otherwise I can’t balance the accounts on my side.”

”Besides, our Fourteenth Legion isn’t very pedantic, quite the opposite, we’re pretty humane; selling some off the record stuff when short on money isn’t a big deal.”

”And selling outdated military supplies when short on money is also an old tradition of the Imperial Army.”

With a hint of reluctance, Chen Ming swiped from the card he left within the Empire’s borders, transferring 1.7 billion to the account specified by Bai Quan.

Even adding the earnings from earlier piracy bounties, he’s now left with less than 2 billion.

Though it feels a bit painful, as the money truly goes fast.

Yet, he understands that money left unused is just waste paper; only when spent does it hold actual meaning.

So, after feeling a bit upset, Chen Ming returned to normal and asked Bai Quan, ”Are all the things I requested outdated military supplies?”

Bai Quan thought for a moment and said, ”Indeed, they can mostly be considered as such, though the army occasionally still uses them.”

Bai Quan’s words ignited Chen Ming’s curiosity, prompting him to ask, ”Then what items are not outdated and still within the deadline?”

”Main Level items are all within the deadline.”

Bai Quan noticed Chen Ming’s slightly speechless expression, clearly aware that he was stating the obvious.

Thus, he added, ”Actually, the deadline is quite lenient; as long as it’s not experimental weapons and equipment not yet commissioned for service, selling them outside is generally not a problem.”

”Do Antimatter Reactors count?”
