Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 613: Chapter 189 Advancement_4

Generally speaking, in a balanced cruiser-level battle.

The firepower of the cruisers, as the main force of the fleet, needs to be directed at the opponent’s cruisers to prevent the collapse of the battlefield situation if the exchange fails.

This is even more essential for the weaker side, as they must take down an enemy cruiser first to stand a chance of victory.

However, Chen Ming didn’t need to worry about this issue at all.

He could withstand the enemy cruiser’s firepower bombardment and eliminate all the small ships on the opposite side.

If the Mechanical Race dared to exchange their actual ship losses for Chen Ming’s spiritual power losses, then Chen Ming would be at a great advantage.

The Mechanical Race clearly didn’t understand this.

Or rather, anyone who fought Chen Ming without knowing his abilities and saw him trading cruiser radiation for small ship damage would think Chen Ming was a fool.

So the current situation with the Mechanical Race was the same.

They just allowed their small ships to suffer losses, while the large ships continued to desperately output against Chen Ming’s few ships.

The weapons of the Mechanical Race were evenly distributed with solid projectiles, energy, and missiles.

Although they may not specialize in any one area, they could adapt to a variety of complex environments.

However, they were lacking in burst power.

So Chen Ming silently relied on his spiritual power to withstand the beating from the Mechanical Race’s weapons, sweeping away all their small ships.

Not a single ship could withstand the ravaging of the almost unlimited fireable Speed Particle Spear.

As time went on, the Mechanical Race finally realized that something was wrong.

The number and intensity of Speed Particle Spear launches on Chen Ming’s side were somewhat exceeding the normal limits.

Moreover, the radiation energy needed to activate the Speed Particle Spear and sustain the shield damage should have exceeded the holding capacity of Chen Ming’s few ships long ago.

These cruisers should have already collapsed and should not still be standing there.

In the sustained firepower output from the Mechanical Race’s cruisers, their radiation capacity had nearly halved, yet the shields of the few ships that were outputting at a higher frequency and enduring damage showed no signs of nearing overload.

This bizarre situation led the Mechanical Race to immediately slow down their firepower offensive and order the retreat of under ten remaining small ships.

Since the Mechanical Race slowed their offensive, Chen Ming had to actively put some pressure on them.

The Stardust Level, which had been staying behind with its lone Speed Particle Spear, opened all flight deck doors on both port and starboard sides.

Meteor Unmanned Fighters, similar to the Terminator Unmanned Fighter of Torrential Rain, swarmed out.

The exhaust flames of the Meteor Fighters drew arcs in space, sweeping towards the Mechanical Race fleet like a sky-full of stardust.

Right after the first wave of fighters were released, Chen Ming immediately used maintenance spiritual energy on the Meteoroids. Innumerable materials instantly converged to form another new wave of Meteor Fighters, which once again flew out of the hangar.

Then came the third batch.

A total of 1,600 fighters surged towards the Mechanical Race’s fleet, and the entire battlefield resembled a grand fireworks display.

As these Meteor Fighters accelerated during their flight, continuously overloading, their fuselages gradually began to redden, emitting a red aura as if filled with the smell of blood.

Under the effect of Chen Ming’s maintenance spiritual energy, they crashed into the Mechanical Race’s cruisers with overloading efficiency several times the normal.

At the same time, supported by Chen Ming’s unreserved spiritual power, they maintained their ships, overloading who knows how many times, for their final moments.

Anyway, by the time the second and third batches of fighters left the hangar, Chen Ming no longer expected these fighters to return.

He just wanted to see a massive explosion.

Thousands of crimson meteors continuously bombarded the remaining cruisers of the Mechanical Race.

This number of Meteor Unmanned Fighters, exceeding ten times the total fleet numbers of the Mechanical Race, detonated in mere seconds.

Sensors couldn’t show any situation of the Mechanical Race fleet, and Chen Ming could only rely on the Supreme Point’s scanning array and the last moments before the self-destruction of the Meteor Fighters.

It was roughly apparent that the Mechanical Race cruisers were finished.

Out of eight cruisers, five had detonated under the Meteor’s attack, turning into several large pieces of space debris.

The remaining three cruisers were already failing, with overloaded arcs, completely shattered armor, and a tottering ship structure.

With Chen Ming’s easy victory in space combat.

He immediately began to control the Supreme Point, organizing various Dusk units to proceed with salvaging those cruisers as spoils of war.

Meanwhile, as before, he continued to focus part of his attention on observing the Insect Race situation on the ground.
