Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 631: Chapter 194 Idea_2

However, Chen Ming also believes one thing: the Imperial Military definitely knows much more than he does in the battle against the Mechanical Race.

Just because he can’t find certain things now doesn’t mean they can’t be found using connections with the Fourteenth Legion.

So he can ask Bai Quan about related matters, but he has to wait until Bai Quan figures out what exactly destroyed the Mechanical Race fleet before.

For the time being, Chen Ming set aside his focus on the Purgatory Demon King and shifted his attention to other entities within the Mechanical Race.

Although the Purgatory Demon King is indeed remarkable, other ordinary individuals of the Mechanical Race are also quite impressive.

In the unfavorable situation at the beginning when the Insect Queen launched a surprise attack, overwhelming the battlefield, they held on for quite a long time. At one point, there was even a hint of counter-offensive, until they were ultimately exhausted by the specially bred Insect Race from the Insect Queen.

Such Mechanical Race entities certainly have value.

Therefore, Chen Ming conveniently categorized the current species of the Mechanical Race; it will be useful in the future.

After all, the Insect Race is led by the Insect Queen, but the Mechanical Race under Chen Ming doesn’t have an individual like the Insect Queen; all these Mechanical Race members directly take orders from Chen Ming himself.

In other words, Chen Ming is equivalent to the Insect Queen within the Mechanical Race.

So, without an Insect Queen, he needs to personally command the Mechanical Race, and some things are unavoidable.

Instead of rushing later, it’s better to seize the appropriate moment now and clarify everything that needs to be understood.

Chen Ming roughly summarized the types of the Mechanical Race.

They can be divided into six levels.

Miniature, small, standard, medium, large, and heavy.

Currently, there is only one type of miniature Mechanical Race under Chen Ming’s command: [Mechanical Race Miniature Mechanical Entity · Worker Bee].

Though it’s only one kind, Worker Bees actually have more detailed different differentiations.

Their individuals install different tools on different Worker Bees according to various work requirements to achieve different functions.

Chen Ming casually counted; currently, his Mechanical Race can be subdivided into a dozen or so different functional Worker Bees.

Basically, it’s purely a logistical type of mechanical entity.

When Chen Ming’s colony is established in the future, it will definitely be handy for assisting Dusk individuals.

And the small-sized Mechanical Race includes two types: [Tunneling Insect] and [Ant].

Chen Ming has seen the Tunneling Insect before; it’s a Mechanical Race, about three to four meters in size, specialized in civil engineering.

Ants are similar in size to Tunneling Insects, but they are more slender and flat as a combat-type mechanical entity.

Equipped with a short-range artillery specially used for destroying buildings, loaded with armor-piercing explosive rounds, definitely an assault unit.

However, in previous battles, Chen Ming hardly noticed this type of Mechanical Race.

After all, the Mechanical Race was on the receiving end, and the number of Ants was indeed very few.

Among the more than thirty thousand Mechanical Race individuals Chen Ming took, there were just barely over ten Ants.

They are useful, but not many in number.

Further, the standard type is quite special, and all humanoid mechanical entities fall within it. Although their size is smaller compared to the Tunneling Insect and Ants classified as small-sized, they are considered standard.

This truth be told, is quite intriguing, since the word ’standard’ is very special.

However, Chen Ming merely speculates and doesn’t have substantial evidence, so he doesn’t overthink it.

In any case, there are quite a few standard mechanical entities.

Like [Flying Mantis] and [Silent Mantis] are categorized under this type.

Then, during previous battles with the Insect Race, those flying Mechanical Race units that posed certain difficulties for the Insect Race, [Wandering Moth], are also included under this category.

An invisible mechanical entity [Mimic] used for assassinating those able to spray Liquid Energy Crystals within the Insect Race is also among them.

All have unique abilities, each possessing its value.

Additionally, Chen Ming found another mechanical entity of the same model with almost no presence similar to the Flying Mantis, [Shield Mantis].

It has an Electromagnetic Rifle mounted and is equipped with a special device.

Capable of constructing a strong electromagnetic force field around itself, preventing any metal from coming close, primarily useful for blocking bullets.

But the Insect Race doesn’t shoot bullets nor spew anything composed of metal, so this Mechanical Race unit didn’t use its combat capability in previous battles.

Thus, Chen Ming didn’t pay any attention to this mechanical entity.

But now, upon seeing it, he feels it still has some use.

At least it will be effective when facing humans who use solid bullet weapons or Dusk.

As for medium-sized Mechanical Race, Chen Ming currently has two types, one of which is the [Blazing Silkworm] that had been captured before.

The other is the non-combat-type Mechanical Race commonly found in Mechanical Race cities, [Transport Ant].

Just by looking at the name, you know what this Mechanical Race is used for.

However, it can actually do more things, but for the current Chen Ming, it’s not particularly valuable.

Then there’s the large Mechanical Race, which Chen Ming currently only has one kind, the [Centipede].

Although Centipedes can further be divided into three types: [Prison Fire Cannon Centipede], [Electric Shock Centipede], and [Charged Machine Gun Centipede].

But there’s no need for that.

Speaking of which, Chen Ming suddenly remembered the thought he had when first seeing the Centipede weapon.

It was to study these charge weapons of the Centipede.

Charge weapons differ from electromagnetic weapons, as electromagnetic weapons merely use electromagnetic acceleration to launch high-speed solid bullets.
