Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 643: Chapter 197 Cooperation Intentions_2

Even though the Empire has obtained samples of the Energy Crystal Crab, it would still take at least several years to begin mass cultivation of the Energy Crystal Crab.

But by then, setting aside the issue of production, Chen Ming’s own energy crystal-producing insects might have gone through several generations already.

It is impossible to keep up with his progress by slowly starting research from the Energy Crystal Crab.

Chen Ming briefly organized his current thoughts, and after confirming there were no mistakes or omissions, he set aside the daily report sent by Brilliant.

He then continued to verify the other situations from last night.

Before Chen Ming rested yesterday, he had promised Extraordinary something.

Previously, he had randomly selected a Gamma Dusk for testing.

Although Chen Ming fainted midway, the deep maintenance did not stop.

And now, as Chen Ming looked over, the changes in that Gamma Dusk were indeed gratifying.

According to Chen Ming’s observational comparison, almost all the structures on the optimized Gamma Dusk core have been optimized.

The operational logic circuits have become significantly simpler, and its run speed has increased substantially, by about 50%.

Moreover, the changes to the entire core did not affect the individual Dusk within the core at all, and even generated a sense of comfort in this Gamma Core.

One can only say the effect is quite good.

Although Chen Ming is not sure whether Alpha Level Dusk cores will have such excellent optimization effects during deep maintenance, or if there will be new changes.

But even if it only has a 1% optimization, Chen Ming will definitely have to perform deep maintenance on the few Alpha Level Dusks he has at hand, to further improve their capabilities.

Chen Ming has not forgotten that he has yet to choose the appropriate Alpha Level core enhancement for the few Alpha Level Dusks at his disposal, other than HR.

If Chen Ming can enhance the capabilities of Alpha Level Dusks through optimization in a way that can stack with the core enhancements, even if not multiplicatively, it would be extremely significant for the overall improvement of each Dusk core.

Chen Ming is the core of the entire developmental plan.

And the few Alpha Dusks in his hands are the trump cards for the core; it’s always beneficial to strengthen them when there’s a chance.

Moreover, it only consumes the residual Spiritual Power before resting every day.

And following the successful enhancement of the Dusk core last night by Chen Ming, there was another thing that happened successfully.

Which turned out a bit differently from what Chen Ming had imagined.

Because as of today, he still has not waited for his paper to be published in that journal, nor for a reply from the reviewer.

Instead, he received a contact from Bai Quan.

Before the daily directive teaching time began, Bai Quan proactively made a call.

Chen Ming answered the call immediately and said: ”Bai Quan?”

The noise on Bai Quan’s side seemed somewhat chaotic, but it quickly quieted down, and Bai Quan said: ”Chen Ming, I want to discuss with you what you mentioned before about the technology you’re researching.”

Chen Ming instantly perked up and asked knowingly, ”What’s up?”

”That technology of yours... our Fourteenth Legion is very interested.”

A slight smile appeared on Chen Ming’s face as he jokingly said: ”You didn’t seem to say that a couple of days ago.”

Bai Quan calmly replied, ”Things always change over time.”

To be honest, when Chen Ming previously mentioned he had a promising technology under research, Bai Quan initially didn’t think much of it, considering Chen Ming’s technology to be as such, assuming it was just some quirky invention by Chen Ming.

But a few days later, when Chen Ming confidently mentioned during a class that his research was complete and he wanted to publish, he casually mentioned that he knew people who could help expedite the review process.

Little did he know that one of the reviewers of the journal where Chen Ming wanted to publish was from their Fourteenth Legion.

Then, after Bai Quan had relayed the information, he basically forgot about it.

But something unexpected happened later.

Which is, the reviewer Bai Quan reached out to wasn’t always on duty; his main job was the director of a subordinate research institute of the Fourteenth Legion, and he only occasionally reviewed a couple of papers listed in that journal.

He did have some authority to give certain papers sent for journal review to the actual reviewers in advance for early review.

When Bai Quan mentioned Chen Ming’s paper, he remembered it but didn’t help immediately.

After all, someone using Bai Quan’s connection to publish in the top research journal, if the content was rubbish, not only would it not pass, but it could also damage Bai Quan’s reputation.

Although he wasn’t responsible for reviewing Chen Ming’s paper, having someone internally check it beforehand was better than releasing it and getting embarrassed.

Originally, he was only going to have a cursory look.

But after seeing the actual content of the paper, he found the situation different from what he had expected.

This paper wasn’t trying to use connections to gain prestige by getting published; the technology in this paper had actually been tested and held considerable value.

Using a connection with Bai Quan was merely to speed up the review process, nothing more.

Thus, the researcher from the Fourteenth Legion directly approached Bai Quan to explain the situation.

Then Bai Quan realized that he had always been raising his regard for Chen Ming, raising the ceiling of his understanding of Chen Ming’s Spiritual Energy, and concurrently raising his understanding of Chen Ming’s capabilities as well.
