Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 608: Chapter 188 Raid_3

Even though the Mechanical Race detected the jump fluctuations the moment they appeared in orbit and began reacting, the speed at which they deployed orbital defenses couldn’t match the speed at which Chen Ming activated the ship’s weapons.

A total of thirteen large weapons on five cruisers, thirteen particle torrents fired from Speed Particle Spears instantly swept over the surrounding orbital defense facilities, destroying them before they had a chance to transform.

The orbital defense facilities covering one-fifth of the planet’s equatorial orbit were completely annihilated in just thirty seconds by the terrifying and almost continuous fire of Speed Particle Spears.

With the loss of their external defenses, they also lost the ability to turn these orbital defenses inward to assist ground operations.

At this moment, Chen Ming’s Supreme Point suddenly detected a wave of jump fluctuations appearing near the orbit.

Chen Ming’s pre-prepared jump interference device instantly activated, completely disrupting these jump fluctuations, directly interrupting this wave of reinforcements from the Mechanical Race.

Meticulous preparation left no room for unexpected events.

In the blink of an eye, all the living forces of the Mechanical Race in space were completely obliterated by Chen Ming.

However, he did not stop and continued to command several cruisers to execute their tasks.

He needed to deploy jamming devices in the polar regions and the direction facing the star that could block signals across the entire planet.

Also, he needed to locate and count the surviving orbital defense satellites that were not thoroughly destroyed in the previous assault.

Deploy Dusk entities to control them, making them a part of his combat capabilities.

At a time like this, every additional bit of firepower increases the possibility of a decisive victory.

After completing this step, during the interval awaiting the second wave of reinforcements from the Mechanical Race.

Chen Ming finally found time to look at the situation on the ground.

At this moment, on the edge of the Mechanical Race’s colonial city.

The black carapace made the Insect Race look like a black tsunami, surging toward the city swaying like a ship in the waves.

Clearly, the Insect Race commanded by the Insect Queen also held the advantage.

What caught Chen Ming’s eye the most in the insect tide was a massive Insect Race unit at the front of the temporary defensive line constructed by the Mechanical Race.

Its appearance resembled the black Insect Race Chen Ming had seen in the Insect Queen’s genes, but its size was larger, and the thickness of its frontal carapace was approaching that of a cruiser’s armor.

It charged ahead of the other insects, using its body to withstand the Mechanical Race’s firepower.

By sheer force, it shattered several defensive lines built by the Mechanical Race.

Almost no ground weapon of the Mechanical Race could inflict sufficient damage on it.

It bore countless attacks that could shred other insects to pieces, protecting most of the creatures behind it.

Destroying the Mechanical Race’s vain hope of blocking the Insect Race outside the city.

Even though the Insect Race taking heavy damage mostly fell on the path of the charge.

As long as they reached the more complex environment inside the city, even at the city’s edge, they could perform far better than on open ground.

Some Insect Queen-hidden insects could finally play their roles appropriately in suitable positions.

Chen Ming saw a group of small flying insects with elytra and relatively swollen abdomens emerging from the tunnels the Insect Race had dug.

Under the cover of ground insects, they evaded countless anti-air fire, dove into the city, and chose to self-detonate above the densest area of the Mechanical Race.

Countless droplets of insect blood rained from the sky, coloring the city’s ground with the Insect Race’s blood.

The Insect Race’s blood hadn’t lost its initial properties after two evolutions, still having a special offensive capability against the Mechanical Race.

Amidst the flying blood, a large range of Mechanical Race units gradually lost their combat abilities, only to be crushed by the subsequent charging Insect Race.

Unnoticeably, a layer of deep purple fungal mat began spreading from the Insect Race’s tunnels into the city, accelerating its expansion by absorbing the Insect Race corpses.

The fungal mat, which could continuously provide nutrients to the Insect Race, significantly increased their combat power.

The Mechanical Race’s defensive lines kept breaking one after another.

With the increasingly complex environment, more special and semi-submerged worm-like insects appeared among the Insect Race.

They were extremely fragile themselves, but could spit unstable high-energy liquid from melted energy crystals.

These liquids, when subjected to any violent impact, would produce reactions that Chen Ming liked very much.

Explosions.

With power comparable to Zuo Jing explosives.

Though they couldn’t completely destroy the Mechanical Race’s armor, it was easy to shatter the internal structure of the Mechanical Race by impact.

These new special breeds of insects.

All were results of the communication between Chen Ming and the Insect Queen over the past week.

Ideas proposed by Chen Ming and realized by the Insect Queen.

After Chen Ming performed a deep repair on the Insect Queen last time, it completely purged the useless parts of its genes, mastering the valuable elements.

Thus, it fully possessed the capability to manually create various Insect Species, and could even accomplish things Chen Ming hadn’t initially thought possible.
