Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 612: Chapter 189 Advancement_3

So the Insect Queen simply completely enveloped the entire battlefield in fungus.

With the stealth effect of optical camouflage lost, such a Mechanical Race machine was just a reinforced model of the Flying Mantis.

As for the Blazing Silkworms that had entered a high-heat state, there was only one solution.

Utilize those giant insects that the Insect Queen supplemented later, with their incredibly thick shells, to hard press against the Blazing Silkworms and crush them.

When there is no good way to handle things, using sheer force is clearly the most efficient method.

The intense heat on the Blazing Silkworms could not directly damage the flesh protected by the unbelievably thick shell.

After all methods that could threaten the Insect Race by the Mechanical Race were eliminated.

The Insect Race once again gained the upper hand.

Once again advancing a considerable distance into the Mechanical Race’s city.

But just as the Insect Race was about to push into the core area of the Mechanical Race city.

The Insect Race suddenly encountered resistance once more.

Inside the Mechanical Race city appeared some figures even larger and bulkier than the Blazing Silkworms.

Some of them were equipped with two giant cannons with calibers approaching forty centimeters.

Moreover, the cannon barrels were already flickering with electric light similar to the charge glow of the Electromagnetic Spear.

After a series of familiar thunderous sounds akin to the strikes of a sledgehammer, shells flashing with bright arcs directly penetrated almost every giant Insect Race body at the frontline of the battle line, landing among the Insect Race in the rear.

The shells then erupted violently, with intense shockwaves and arcs lashing against the surrounding Insect Race.

Shattered shells and severed limbs flew together, the incredibly strong and jet-black shells stood little chance of offering protection in front of these shells.

The swarm suffered heavy casualties instantly.

Chen Ming recognized them at first sight; these were the main combat units of the Mechanical Race, Centipedes.

Chen Ming did not understand why these things with appearances akin to shortened caterpillars but with numerous small supporting limbs beneath were called Centipedes, but the Mechanical Race papers did record this.

These Mechanical Race Centipedes typically come equipped with three types of weapons: Hellfire Cannon, Charge Cannon, and Charge Machine Gun.

And the one that can penetrate the strongest armor of the Insect Race in one shot and cause arc explosions at the shell’s impact point was likely the Charge Cannon.

The main mechanical units of the Mechanical Race successfully blocked Chen Ming’s Insect Race in front of the core area of the city.

Just as Chen Ming was contemplating whether ground support was necessary.

He suddenly discovered that the second batch of Mechanical Race reinforcements had arrived in space.

And this time, Chen Ming did not succeed in using equipment to halt them.

It wasn’t because Chen Ming didn’t have a second piece of equipment.

But because the Mechanical Race didn’t teleport from any location he judged would most impact the situation.

They chose to teleport to the other side of the planet, where Chen Ming’s devices couldn’t influence, then fly over.

Chen Ming immediately realized his experience in space combat was still inadequate.

Otherwise, he should not have overlooked such a place.

Although the Mechanical Race can randomly choose a landing point unknown to them within the entire star system to teleport, then fly over to avoid being blocked by Chen Ming’s Anti-Teleportation Device.

It can indeed be said that there is no way to intercept, which is the usual choice for teleporting when aware the enemy has Anti-Teleportation Devices.

Though it might cause a delay in joining the battlefield, it’s better than not being able to teleport at all.

But given the Mechanical Race chose the teleport location on the other side of the planet, such a very close and risky place.

Failing to guard against it was indeed Chen Ming’s problem.

But just as Bai Quan had previously advised to remind him.

He wouldn’t bet everything on the success of the Anti-Teleportation Device.

The first time it succeeded was already a delightful surprise.

The second time, just consider it his operational mistake.

Overall, Chen Ming has little time to manage the ground; the main mechanical units of the Mechanical Race on the ground can only be dealt with by the Insect Queen.

Chen Ming believes the Insect Queen will not let him down.

Now, the Mechanical Race reinforcements he has to face are truly the start of his raid on the Mechanical Race fight in earnest.

The Mechanical Race fleet was advancing along the orbital satellite defense facilities’ orbit toward Chen Ming.

Their fleet comprised a total of eight Cruisers, two hundred Destroyers, and two hundred Frigates.

It seemed they were aware of the situation on Chen Ming’s side, knowing he brought only five Cruisers with him without a Escort Fleet, hence deploying such a fleet.

They intended to rely on Cruiser suppression and more numerous smaller vessels to completely overwhelm Chen Ming from all aspects.

But for Chen Ming, small ships were fundamentally inconsequential.

Because as long as the enemy couldn’t directly blast his Cruiser, he could rely on Spiritual Energy to maintain the Shield and forcibly blow up all the small ships first.

Dragging the battle to a fair situation of big ships against big ships, then dealing with the enemy’s Cruisers.

This time was no exception.

When the Mechanical Race fleet entered his ship’s range, Chen Ming was the first to act.

Dozens of beams from the Speed Particle Spear surged and struck the Mechanical Race fleet.

And the small ships of the Mechanical Race had no room for resistance with Chen Ming’s side fully equipped with Speed Particle Spears. As long as the spear swept by, it was a chain of flames bursting from the Mechanical Race’s battle line.
