Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 638: Chapter 196 Shao Yang’s Contact

A week passed quickly.

Chen Ming habitually recorded the events of the past week on the weekend night of each week.

During the past week, the temporary base continued to operate normally without Chen Ming, proceeding with external expansion and investigation as usual.

Unexpectedly, they discovered the carcass of a floating Altrulan space eel in the void, which Brilliant collected, intensifying exploration of star systems around the carcass.

Meanwhile, Chen Ming, at the Space Station, continued reducing the time spent on other studies daily with Bai Quan, focusing more on research.

Within a week, he successfully developed two deeply maintained technologies.

Of course, the Antimatter Engine only resulted in an improved physical sample, as Chen Ming himself was not familiar with Antimatter Technology.

The Unstable Hyperspace Navigation Teleportation Engine he researched became entirely different after deep maintenance.

After these few days of study, Chen Ming fully understood the operation of the improved Hyperspace Engine technology.

By using reverse inference, he succeeded in writing a paper that appeared to be a straightforward research contribution.

One could only say that Spiritual Energy is indeed part of research capability.

Then Chen Ming submitted the paper to a top-tier academic journal related to spacecraft technology he knew.

He incidentally leveraged Bai Quan’s connections.

To expedite the review process by those responsible for evaluation.

Chen Ming wasn’t sure where Bai Quan got such connections, but since it could be done, he saw no reason to refuse.

Professional paper reviews usually require considerable time; leveraging connections was only logical.

The paper shouldn’t have many surprises.

After all, Chen Ming first developed the stable Hyperspace Navigation Engine before drafting the paper, so he was quite clear on its effects.

Chen Ming estimated a response would come in these two days, and holding the patent then, making money would be relatively easy.

However, the Antimatter Engine was somewhat burdensome.

Because it was entirely different from the Hyperspace Navigation Engine, Chen Ming couldn’t provide even a seemingly reasonable forward research process.

This means Chen Ming’s Spiritual Energy can perform deep maintenance on anything without being limited by his knowledge level.

The value of such Spiritual Energy is intimidating to anyone.

And especially so for an Empire holding countless cutting-edge technologies.

If Chen Ming displayed the optimized Antimatter Engine, he might not be able to leave once he returned.

Because his Spiritual Energy has shown far superior research value than combat value.

Just think a bit differently; if Chen Ming were an Empire official or one of its top researchers.

Knowing a Psychic with such capability was running around outside would be unsettling, surely hoping to keep them within the Empire, placing them in a very secure location at best.

With good treatment, wait for this Psychic to refine technology using Spiritual Energy.

This life seems pretty good, but Chen Ming doesn’t want to live like that.

So he hid the optimized Antimatter technology, leaving it to Extraordinary for research.

To be specific, he left Extraordinary at the Stardust Level.

And within a few days, Extraordinary sent Chen Ming a list, a list of research equipment required for studying the improved Antimatter Engine.

Because the batch of equipment Chen Ming purchased earlier didn’t include devices for researching Antimatter Technology,

If buying anew, this batch of research equipment would cost around 12 billion.

Quite hard to buy, and there’d be no place to install it.

Supreme Point had long been filled with the research equipment Chen Ming bought previously.

However, Chen Ming eventually agreed.

And conducted a transformation on generally unused spaces, like the crew lounge on the Stardust Level, which is usually not at the frontline but at the back end of battlefields deploying self-destruct drones, to make room.

Later to transform it into a research room for Extraordinary.

After all, holding the patent for Antimatter Technology personally, acquiring the technology itself wasn’t hard, nor was it difficult to hand to Extraordinary to learn.

But wishing for Extraordinary to master the improved Antimatter Engine by hand was only wishful thinking.

Yet, the Antimatter Engine’s enhancement to spacecraft is quite significant, its greatly increased radiator capacity and energy dissipation hold huge importance even for Chen Ming.

Let alone the improved version.

Therefore, Chen Ming was definitely going to attempt to master the improved Antimatter Technology, benefiting his fleet and future colonial construction.

As long as Chen Ming could draft a comprehensive research process similar to the one he did for the improved Stable Hyperspace Navigation Engine.

He could release the improved Antimatter Engine technology, without facing potential restrictions from the Empire’s upper echelons.

And simultaneously use such improvements to earn more money.

Hence, this 12 billion couldn’t be saved.

Old Wu certainly couldn’t get the Antimatter related equipment, so Chen Ming directly contacted the boss.

The boss indeed agreed, but the specific timing on when this batch of equipment could be obtained was uncertain.

In conclusion, besides waiting for equipment and writing the paper, Chen Ming was also busy with some other things over the past week.
