Myriad Heavens: Rise of the Rune God

Chapter 332: Chapter 333: Everything and Nothing New

One month passed.

From the outside the time felt long. Stars moved through their slow arcs. Sects rose and fell in distant sectors. Reincarnators continued to awaken in unfamiliar bodies, systems flickered to life in countless hands, and the two universes Runar had once asked the Multiversal Center to enrich continued to churn under the weight of new destinies. For the wider Multiverse, one month was nothing. For those who lived inside it, one month could be enough to change entire regions. But for Runar, inside the continuous loop he had entered, it was only a single, unbroken process. There was no beginning, no middle, and no end. There was only reading, refining, and generating, repeated until the distinction between the three actions disappeared completely.

He never withdrew his perception. Absolute Comprehension and Origin Weave continued their self-reinforcing cycle without pause, without rest, and without any decrease in intensity. They did not tire. They did not require external motivation. They had become a closed law of their own, and that law demanded only one thing: more.

He read.

He refined.

He generated.

The Multiverse — past, present, future, and every reachable parallel and alternate timeline — poured into him in an endless stream. Extinct power systems that had died with civilizations no longer remembered by any living being were pulled into his awareness and dissected down to their foundational grammar. Living hybrid experiments, born from the collision of reincarnator systems and local principles, were analyzed the moment their first sparks formed. Embryonic future paths, not yet walked by anyone, appeared to him as unfinished structures waiting for a mind capable of completing them. Divergent versions of history unfolded beside one another, each carrying different choices, different accidents, and different outcomes. The highest insights of forgotten geniuses, the lowest repetitive techniques of ordinary cultivators, the secret arts of bloodlines that had hidden themselves for eons, and the crude methods of mortals who had never touched spiritual energy — everything was taken, understood, and fed into the loop.

At first, the intake was staggering even by his standards. Every second brought something that would have been priceless to any cultivator, any faction, or any Paragon still struggling at the peak of the known hierarchy. A dead empire’s final theorem on collapsing principles into a single point. A reincarnator’s system generating a law that had never existed in its host universe before. A forgotten sage’s last breath turning into a principle that briefly touched the edge of transcendence. A timeline where cultivation had evolved through music instead of energy, producing structures so strange and beautiful that they could only be understood as a separate branch of reality. All of it entered him. All of it was refined. All of it became part of the growing architecture of his comprehension.

Then, gradually, the quality of the intake changed.

New information kept appearing. Reincarnators still collided with local laws and produced fresh hybrids. Living geniuses still achieved unique insights. Timeline branches still split and generated new variations. Absolute Comprehension registered each one the instant it formed, because nothing within the readable Multiverse could escape its reach. Yet the sensation of discovery began to fade. The stream was still vast, still continuous, and still technically active, but it no longer carried anything that surprised him.

Every fresh system was a recombination of principles he had already fully mapped. Every unique insight was a narrower, less complete version of something he had already refined to a higher density. Every alternate path was a degraded or incomplete echo of structures Origin Weave had already surpassed. The Multiverse continued to generate knowledge, but it was no longer generating anything that could expand his understanding. It was like watching a river flow endlessly into an ocean that had already swallowed every river that had ever existed.

He had read everything.

The realization settled quietly, without drama. Absolute Comprehension simply confirmed the fact: there was no remaining unreformed layer of significant value. The library was finished. What continued to appear were only copies, reflections, and lesser variations. The Multiverse could still create, still evolve, and still produce novelty in the eyes of those who lived inside it, but from Runar’s perspective, that novelty had become predictable. He could see the shape of every new idea before it fully formed. He could trace its lineage back to older principles. He could identify its limitations before its creator even recognized them.

During the month he had also encountered the Multiverse’s highest geniuses across all eras and timelines. Some of their insights came close. A handful brushed against the edges of his current level of understanding — close enough to be noted, close enough to be respected as the best the Multiverse could produce. There was a nameless being from an extinct cycle who had tried to unify all elemental laws into a single living song. There was a Paragon from a forgotten branch of time who had nearly turned causality into a cultivable resource. There was a hybrid genius born from three incompatible bloodlines who had briefly touched a principle that did not belong to any known hierarchy. Each of them had achieved something extraordinary. Each of them had pushed the Multiverse forward in ways that would be remembered by whatever civilizations survived their eras.

None of them reached him.

The gap, though sometimes narrow by Multiversal standards, remained absolute. Even the most brilliant minds that had ever existed inside the structure were still thinking within a system he had already completed. They were explorers mapping the inside of a vast house, while he had already stepped outside and read the blueprints. Their brilliance was real. Their achievements were worthy of respect. But respect did not mean equality, and equality was not something the Multiverse could offer him anymore.

He saw versions of himself as well.

Across parallel multiversal timelines there were many. Some had never left Willith’s Universe and had grown strong within its limits, becoming protectors, rulers, or hidden ancestors whose names eventually turned into myth. Some had accepted the Paragons’ systems and become highly successful harvested assets, rising quickly through sponsored paths before being consumed by the machinery that had elevated them. Some had died early, crushed by conflicts they were not yet strong enough to survive. Some had chosen quieter lives, abandoning cultivation for love, family, or simple peace. Some had ascended earlier through different methods and stepped beyond the readable structure. Absolute Comprehension could follow those ascended versions only to the exact moment they left. After that they became blank, as though the Multiverse itself lost the ability to describe what they had become.

All of them were inferior.

Their foundations were lighter. Their principles were less dense. Their potential ceilings sat lower than the trajectory he was already walking. Among every possible version of Runar that the Multiverse could contain or imagine, the one who had stepped outside and read everything was the highest. He did not feel pride in that realization. He did not feel contempt for the others. He simply acknowledged it as a fact, the way one acknowledges that a finished bridge stands higher than the scaffolding used to build it.

With no new external knowledge left to absorb, the loop turned fully inward.

Absolute Comprehension and Origin Weave spent the remainder of the month in pure refinement. Everything already obtained was compressed, purified, elevated, and rewoven. Redundancies were erased. Lesser structures were cannibalized to strengthen greater ones. Principles that had once seemed profound were broken down into their component truths, then rebuilt into frameworks so dense that they no longer resembled principles at all. Higher-order structures that Origin Weave generated now carried an authority that made ordinary Multiversal laws feel thin and fragile by comparison. The two Supreme Principles densified to a degree that would have been terrifying to any being still bound by the Multiverse’s hierarchy.

Inside Runar’s soul, the original embryonic runes that had been born from the resonance of Absolute Comprehension and Origin Weave matured. They were no longer faint. They were no longer incomplete. They had become the foundation of a language that could describe not only the Multiverse, but also the space beyond it. Each rune carried meaning so compressed that even a Paragon looking directly at it would likely suffer backlash. Yet inside Runar’s vessel they rested calmly, because the vessel had been refined to match their weight.

The Multiverse itself noticed.

The active suppression it had attempted in previous weeks simply stopped. It was not that the structure could no longer sense him. It could. It simply chose, on a level deeper than conscious decision, to stop resisting. The laws that had once tried to press down on his existence withdrew. The causal threads that had attempted to bind him to predictable outcomes loosened and fell away. The residual instincts of the Multiverse, shaped by eons of self-preservation, began to recognize something that logic alone could not fully articulate: continued pressure risked provoking something that should not be provoked. The entity that had read every law, every system, every timeline, and every version of itself was not something to be pushed.

The suppression faded into complete non-interference.

Silence returned — not the silence of absence, but the silence of a vast system that had decided it was safer to remain still. The Multiverse did not celebrate him. It did not bless him. It did not grant him titles or rewards. It simply stopped getting in his way, because it had learned, in whatever manner such a structure could learn, that he had outgrown it.

Runar finally allowed the majority of his expanded perception to contract.

The process was gradual, though not slow. Awareness that had stretched across every era, every branch, and every readable possibility began folding back toward its center. He did not lose what he had gained. He simply stopped holding the entire library open at once. The knowledge remained within him, compressed and perfectly organized, available whenever he chose to access it. The Multiverse did not vanish from his perception entirely, but it became smaller, quieter, and far less important than it had been before.

The process was complete.

He floated in the void, hybrid body outwardly unchanged, inwardly refined far beyond its original parameters. Absolute Comprehension sat at a level of clarity that made the entire Multiverse feel transparent and small. Origin Weave rested within him like a living forge that no longer needed external material — it could now generate from pure understanding alone. Every principle he possessed had reached a density that no longer required comparison to the known hierarchy. Every fragment of knowledge he had taken had been transformed into part of his own path.

There was nothing left inside the Multiverse that could teach him.

The library had been fully read.

What remained was only repetition.

Runar opened his eyes fully for the first time in a month. His expression was calm, almost mild. There was no triumph, no lingering hunger for more knowledge from this structure. Only the quiet finality of a task finished. His golden-white eyes held no flash of arrogance, no desire to announce what he had become. They simply looked out at the Multiverse the way a scholar might look at a completed text — with appreciation for what it had offered, and with the understanding that there was no reason to keep reading the same page.

He turned his awareness briefly toward the sealed pocket dimension where Celestia and Nyla still trained. The dimension was stable, carefully reinforced, and hidden behind layers of authority that no Multiversal being could unravel without his permission. Inside it, both women were cultivating with the inheritance he had prepared for them, their foundations growing steadily under the guidance of refined knowledge. They had not finished. They would need more time. But they were safe, and their progress was real.

Then he turned toward the protected region of Willith’s Universe where his family lived unaware. The weave he had placed around them remained intact. It had not been tested by anything serious, and it did not need to be. It existed as a quiet fact, woven into the laws of the region so thoroughly that chaos itself had learned to flow around it. Jake and Lirien were still walking through their peaceful days. Caspian and Seraphina were still handling minor matters with the steady competence they had always shown. Cassia was still sharp-tongued, still observant, and still carrying that quiet strength she refused to display openly.

Everything essential was in place.

The Multiverse had given him all it could.

And he was done with it as a source.
