Myriad Heavens: Rise of the Rune God

Chapter 310: Chapter 311: The Paragon’s Seizure

Exactly three microseconds after the clone re-established the link, space folded.

There was no warning, no ripple of approaching power, and no grand manifestation meant to announce the arrival of a supreme existence. Space simply obeyed. One moment the broken void outside the Reliquary was empty except for drifting debris and residual wounds from earlier battles, and the next moment the true Paragon body stood there as though she had always existed at that exact point.

The surrounding area was still heavily scarred from the time when countless Multiversal beings had tried and failed to force their way inside the ruin. Residual spatial tears hung open like unhealed wounds. Fragments of collapsed domains drifted slowly through the emptiness. Faint echoes of old attacks still flickered in the dark, remnants of greed, ambition, and desperation that had all been rendered meaningless by the arrival of someone who stood far above them.

She stood calmly in the center of that destruction, her expression unreadable and her presence so perfectly contained that even the chaotic space around her seemed to quiet itself. Her eyes swept the external damage with mild disinterest, the way a scholar might glance at dust on an old shelf. The broken barriers, the shattered domains, the residual traces of Multiversal struggles — none of it deserved her attention. They were marks left behind by children trying to break into a vault they could not understand.

She looked past it.

Her gaze pierced the outer shell of the Reliquary without the slightest resistance. The ruin’s defenses, which had once turned away Multiversal attacks and hidden itself from the wider Multiverse for eons, parted before her perception like mist before sunlight. She did not force her way in. She did not need to. The Reliquary had been built by the Rune Sovereign, and its structure still carried the echo of his authority, but that authority was no longer actively governed. The Ancient Will was dead. The trial’s central intelligence had been devoured. The systems that remained were hollow shells running on old instructions, and those instructions had no power to reject a true Paragon.

Internally, the ruin revealed itself as vast as a full universe.

Layer upon layer of trial grounds, sealed spaces, ancient constructs, folded dimensions, and hidden chambers stretched outward in every direction. The first layer, which had once contained the living rune forest and the safe zone, now lay partially destabilized. The second and third layers sat deeper, wrapped in overlapping laws and dormant restrictions. Even beyond them were sealed regions that had not been opened in countless cycles, chambers that contained the deeper inheritance of the Rune Sovereign and rewards that even Multiversal powers would kill to obtain.

Her perception swept cleanly through all of it in a single continuous motion.

The first layer registered in her awareness. The second layer followed. The third layer unfolded beneath her attention as though it had been laid open on a table. Every remaining participant inside the Reliquary appeared in her perception for less than a fraction of a thought. Wukong, still gripping his staff in some distant region of the trial. Vark, cold and alert in his own corner of the void. Sylphy, Lyra, Soren, Darius, Finn, and all the others — each one carrying their own ambitions, fears, and plans for survival. They were insignificant background noise. She did not analyze their foundations, did not assess their potential, and did not spare them even the smallest shred of curiosity. They were insects standing on a board that no longer belonged to them.

Her attention locked onto only two points.

Runar, still deep in enlightenment, twin Supreme Principles clearly forming inside his soul.

And her own clone, standing watch a short distance away.

Seeing the twin Supreme Principles with her own eyes removed the final trace of doubt. What the clone had reported was neither exaggeration nor misperception. It was real. The first principle carried the aura of absolute understanding, a law that seemed capable of reading the deepest grammar of existence. The second principle carried the aura of creation through structure, a law that could take understanding and weave it directly into reality. They were still embryonic, still forming, but their nature was unmistakable. They were Supreme Principles, and they were being born inside a single Multiversal cultivator.

A rare flicker of gravity passed through her ancient mind.

It was not shock in the way lesser beings experienced shock. It was closer to the solemn recognition that something impossible had become real. She had stood at the peak of the Multiverse for longer than most civilizations had existed. She had seen geniuses rise, factions collapse, and ancient bloodlines burn themselves out in pursuit of transcendence. Very few things could still move her will. This was one of them.

The decision was instantaneous.

Secure the boy. Secure the ruin. Eliminate every other variable. Leave before equal-level existences could react.

There was no need for debate. There was no need to weigh morality, consequence, or reputation. The situation had surpassed all ordinary considerations. If the twin Supreme Principles stabilized, the young man inside that enlightenment would become a variable that could reshape the Multiverse. If she hesitated, other Paragons would sense the anomaly. If other Paragons sensed the anomaly, the Reliquary would become the center of a war that could destroy entire sectors. The only correct move was to act before the board could change again.

She raised one hand.

With a single, casual motion of true Paragon authority, every living being inside the Reliquary except Runar and her clone was forcibly ejected. There was no struggle. No resistance. No time to react. The trial layers bent, folded, and expelled their occupants like a body rejecting foreign dust. Participants who had been hiding, fighting, cultivating, or fleeing were all removed from their positions in the same instant.

They were randomly scattered across millions of sectors in every direction, far from the ruin’s original location. No care was given to where they landed, what condition they arrived in, or whether they would survive the sudden displacement. They were simply removed.

The first thing every ejected participant felt was not confusion, but release.

The Reliquary’s suppression vanished the moment they were expelled. Cultivation bases that had been locked under the trial’s iron rules suddenly answered again. Principles that had been sealed, muted, or reduced to fragments stirred back to life. Energy circulation stabilized with a familiarity that felt almost overwhelming after so long inside the ruin. More importantly, the ambient laws around them changed. The void they now floated in carried the vast, layered texture of the true Multiverse, not the sealed and curated grammar of the Rune Sovereign’s trial ground. They recognized that feeling instantly, because every Multiversal being knew the difference between a sealed realm and the open Multiverse.

That was how they knew.

They were no longer inside the Reliquary.

And with that realization came another, heavier one.

The chance to claim the Rune Sovereign’s inheritance was gone.

---

Wukong appeared in an unfamiliar star region, staff still gripped tightly in both hands.

For a moment he simply floated there, golden eyes wide and body tense, because one second he had been inside the Reliquary and the next he had been thrown into a place that felt completely alien. The stars around him were wrong. The spatial texture was wrong. The ambient laws carried a different weight, a different rhythm, and a different pressure from anything he had sensed inside the trial. His suppressed power had returned, and the familiar feeling of the Multiverse pressed against his senses, but that familiar feeling only made the situation worse.

”What the hell just happened?” he muttered, his voice sharp with confusion and anger.

There was no answer. The void around him stretched in every direction, cold and indifferent. The familiar pressure of the Reliquary was gone. Not distant, not hidden behind a barrier, but completely gone. It was as if the ruin had vanished from his existence entirely. His spiritual sense found nothing that resembled the trial ground, nothing that resembled the hunt, and nothing that resembled the chaotic battlefield where Runar had disappeared.

He immediately tried to contact Runar.

Nothing.

The connection was completely severed. He tried again, pushing his will outward with the kind of stubborn force that had carried him through countless battles, but the attempt failed cleanly. There was no echo, no delay, and no trace of Runar’s presence anywhere within reach. He tried a third time, and the failure was even cleaner than the last. It was not that Runar was ignoring him. It was that the distance between them had become so absurd that communication was impossible.

Realization settled in heavily.

He had been thrown millions of sectors away in an instant. Only a true Paragon could have done something like that without giving him even a fraction of a chance to resist. The thought made his grip tighten on his staff until his knuckles whitened. He had faced many impossible situations in his life, but this was different. This was not a trial he could fight through, nor was it an enemy he could outwit. This was the casual authority of something so far above him that his resistance had not even been worth acknowledging.
