Myriad Heavens: Rise of the Rune God

Chapter 318: Chapter 319: Outside the Multiverse

Runar stood beyond everything.

The infinite Multiverse stretched before him like a single, intricate construct suspended in a deeper void. Timelines layered upon timelines. Dimensions folded into one another. Countless universes burned and died and were reborn within its boundaries. Entire civilizations rose, flourished, and vanished inside spaces so small that they barely registered as dust against the greater whole. Under Absolute Comprehension, none of it was mysterious. The entire structure was readable, transparent, and small.

It felt like a toy.

He could reach out and reshape any law within it. He could pluck a timeline free or collapse an entire dimensional layer with little more than intent. Origin Weave rested quietly inside his new vessel, ready to turn understanding into reality at the slightest thought. For the first time, the Multiverse did not feel like a vast ocean he had to struggle across. It felt like something he had already stepped past.

The outer void around him was not empty in the way ordinary space was empty. It was deeper than absence, quieter than silence, and older than the concept of distance. There were no stars there, no laws that naturally governed movement, and no current of energy that belonged to the Multiverse’s internal circulation. It was the place beyond the boundary, the region that existed only because the Multiverse itself had an edge. Runar stood in that edge without difficulty, his hybrid vessel glowing faintly with golden-white light while the twin Supreme Principles inside him maintained his existence with calm perfection.

The Multiverse itself noticed him.

A deep, instinctive resistance rose from its core. Suppression pressed against his presence from every direction, heavy and absolute by any normal standard. It was not the directed suppression of an enemy, nor was it the deliberate attack of a conscious being. It was closer to an immune response. The Multiverse recognized that something inside it no longer belonged to its internal order, and it acted according to its nature. The message was clear: he no longer belonged inside. He should ascend. He should leave.

But such pressure had no effect on him.

Absolute Comprehension rendered the rejection transparent, allowing him to read every law that had been activated against his presence. Origin Weave kept his existence stable beyond the reach of Multiversal law, anchoring his soul core and hybrid vessel in a structure that the Multiverse could not easily rewrite. He remained where he was, calm and unmoved, while the Multiverse continued to urge him outward.

He was in no hurry.

There were still matters that required his attention. His two wives. His family. The home universe where they waited. Those ties had not disappeared simply because he had stepped beyond the scale of the Multiverse. If anything, they felt clearer now. Power had not erased his emotions. Enlightenment had not burned away his attachments. Standing at the edge of everything had only reminded him of the things that still mattered.

He missed them.

The realization was quiet, but it carried weight. He had not had contact with them for several months, not since the day he first entered the Reliquary. The clone he had left behind in the home sector had been his anchor, his way of maintaining a thread of connection to the life he had built outside the wider Multiverse. But when the Reliquary swallowed him, that connection had been severed cleanly. The ruin’s isolation had been absolute, and even his clone had not been able to send word outward. From the moment he entered the trial until now, his wives had received no message from him.

They had no way of knowing what had happened to him.

They only knew that he had gone silent.

Runar’s golden-white eyes softened slightly as the thought settled through him. He could see the Multiverse’s entire structure, read its laws, and reshape its foundations, yet he could not erase the simple ache that came with knowing the people closest to him had been left waiting. He did not try to suppress that feeling. He accepted it. It was part of him, just as much as his comprehension, his principles, and his path.

He would return and settle them before he considered true ascension.

With a single thought, his perception swept across the Multiverse and locked onto a familiar presence.

Wukong.

Runar saw the sequence of events clearly, because nothing within the Multiverse could hide from him now. He watched the Paragons close in on his friend, their auras descending with the intent to capture. He saw Wukong’s brief tension, the tightening of his grip on the staff, and the realization that he had been found. He saw the way Wukong prepared himself even though resistance was impossible, because that was simply who he was. Then the Multiversal storm erupted without warning and swallowed him whole.

Runar’s lips curved slightly.

”He really can’t stay out of trouble.”

The storm had not been random in its destination. It had dropped Wukong into a sealed space-dimension that existed outside normal Multiversal circulation. Inside that isolated realm, an ancient inheritance had activated the moment Wukong arrived — the Monkey Drunken Dance. It was a chaotic, formless combat inheritance built around unpredictable movement, drunken rhythm, and the disruption of spatial stability. The style did not rely on rigid forms or predictable techniques. It flowed like laughter in the middle of battle, struck like a falling star, and vanished before the enemy could understand what had happened.

The style matched Wukong’s nature with almost absurd precision.

It was nearly tailored for him.

Runar observed a moment longer and reached a simple conclusion. Wukong would survive. More than that, he would grow. The inheritance would temper him in ways ordinary battles could not. It would force him to abandon predictable habits, sharpen his instincts, and refine his combat sense until his movements became impossible to calculate. There was no need to interfere.

Still, he would not leave his friend without a word.

Origin Weave stirred. A small, invisible runic construct formed at Runar’s fingertips — light, precise, and designed to remain dormant within the fabric of the Multiverse itself. He set the conditions carefully. The moment Wukong returned to normal Multiversal space, the construct would activate and deliver its message. It would not seek him out before then, nor would it reveal itself to anyone else. It would simply wait, hidden in the grammar of reality, until its target emerged.

The content was brief and calm.

He was fine.

He had stepped beyond the level of the Multiverse.

Wukong should not worry about him.

When Wukong was ready, he could find his own path forward.

Runar paused for a moment, then added one final line.

Do not do anything stupid before you are ready.

The construct settled into place and vanished from ordinary perception. It would wait for as long as necessary.

Runar’s gaze drifted once more across the Multiverse.

He noted the residual scar where Volasava’s personal space remained folded into a hidden timeline-dimension. She was still inside, cultivating the inheritance he had given her and sealing herself away from the outside pursuit. He could see the shape of her progress, the way the knowledge was integrating into her foundation, and the faint beginning of a breakthrough that might one day carry her beyond the Paragon realm. He did not interfere. She had made her choice, and he had repaid his debt. Whatever came next was hers to walk.

He also saw the distant traces of the organization that had once handled his transmigration. The faint residual signature of the truck-kun event that had brought him into this existence still lingered in the causal layers, preserved like an old scar that had long since stopped bleeding. Once, that event had been the beginning of everything. Now it looked like nothing more than a small ripple in an ocean he had already surpassed. He did not feel anger toward it. He did not feel the need to investigate it further. It had served its purpose, and he had moved beyond it.

The movements of several hidden factions also registered in his awareness. Some were searching for the Reliquary. Some were hunting for survivors. Some were trying to decipher the reports brought back by the ejected participants. A few still believed themselves beyond notice, operating in sealed realms and ancient domains while manipulating lesser powers from the shadows. All of it registered as minor details now — readable, irrelevant, and already beneath his current standing.

A faint pull tugged at him from deeper beyond, toward the layers of the Omniverse.

It was not a voice. It was not a summons. It was closer to a natural attraction, the way a completed principle might lean toward a higher framework that could contain it. The twin Supreme Principles inside him resonated faintly in response, recognizing that there was something above the Multiverse that could give them room to grow. Runar acknowledged the pull and set it aside without difficulty.

The Omniverse could wait.

His eyes turned toward a specific set of coordinates far within the Multiverse — the home universe where his wives and family still waited. The moment his attention settled there, the distant ache in his chest became sharper. He could see the place they had shared, the life he had built, and the familiar patterns of the world he had once considered small. He could also sense that they were still there. They had not left. They had not moved on. They were waiting.

The Multiverse continued to press against him, urging him to leave and complete his ascension.

Runar ignored it.

He had people to return to first.

With that decision settled, he took a single step. Space and dimension folded around his new vessel in perfect silence as he began the journey back toward the only ties that still held him within the Multiverse’s reach. The laws of the Multiverse bent around him, not because they wanted to, but because they had no choice. He was no longer a being struggling inside the system. He was a presence the system had to accommodate.

He was going back home.
