Myriad Heavens: Rise of the Rune God

Chapter 327: Chapter 328: The Loop Deepens

The void remained silent.

Runar floated at its center, body perfectly still, hybrid vessel unchanging on the surface. Inside, the continuous loop between Absolute Comprehension and Origin Weave had long since moved beyond anything that could be called cultivation. It had become a living process — vast, quiet, and accelerating without end.

Absolute Comprehension no longer simply read the Multiverse.

It drank.

Every power system, every technique, every fragment of science, philosophy, martial doctrine, and conceptual art continued to pour into him in an unbroken flood. Past, present, future, and alternate timelines fed the same endless current. The volume should have been crushing. To Runar it felt only like deeper water. There was no strain, no resistance, no point at which the intake threatened to overwhelm him. His hybrid body, forged specifically to carry the two Supreme Principles, simply accepted everything and remained calm.

Then the quality of the information began to change.

He started reaching the origins.

Not the refined systems that civilizations had polished over eras, not the elegant techniques recorded in ancient manuals or system databases, but the first sparks — the raw, almost formless moments when a principle had first flickered into existence. Absolute Comprehension reached past the finished products and touched the birth itself.

He saw the instant a dying warrior’s final breath had condensed into the earliest martial intent, a pure, desperate will to strike one last time that later evolved into entire schools of fist and sword. He watched the first time a primitive mind had looked at lightning splitting the sky and decided, with nothing but raw curiosity and defiance, that it could be commanded. He felt the original conceptual tremor that later became an entire school of spatial law — a single, almost accidental realization that distance was not absolute. He witnessed the accidental fusion of two incompatible energies in a long-dead universe that birthed the first true hybrid path, an unstable, beautiful monstrosity that should never have worked and yet did.

These origins were not recorded in any library or system. They existed only as residual echoes buried so deeply in the fabric of the Multiverse that even the oldest Paragons had never touched them. Most had been overwritten by later refinements. Many had been lost entirely when their universes died. Absolute Comprehension pulled them free one after another and fed them into the loop without hesitation.

Each origin arrived raw and incomplete, still carrying the chaotic potential of its birth. Runar did not tidy them. He simply understood them completely, then allowed Origin Weave to take over.

Origin Weave responded.

The Supreme Principle that had already been evolving under the continuous flood of knowledge suddenly shifted into a new phase. It stopped merely refining and restructuring what it received. It began *generating*.

Entirely original higher-order structures bloomed inside the Weave — frameworks that had never existed in any universe, any timeline, or any alternate branch. They were not combinations of existing paths. They were not clever fusions of martial and magical law or technological and conceptual systems. They were new. Clean. Precise. Built from the purest essences of the origins Runar had just absorbed and then elevated beyond anything the Multiverse itself had produced.

One structure took the raw spark of that first martial intent and wove it into a principle of absolute kinetic authority that could dictate the movement of energy across entire dimensional layers. Another took the primitive decision to command lightning and expanded it into a living framework of elemental sovereignty that treated every force in existence as a subordinate rather than an equal. A third structure rose from the accidental hybrid fusion and became something that could deliberately create stable contradictions — places where opposing laws coexisted without destroying each other, generating endless novelty as a natural byproduct.

The loop tightened.

Every new original structure created by Origin Weave sharpened Absolute Comprehension further. The sharpened Comprehension then reached even deeper into the Multiverse, extracting still more fundamental sparks. Those sparks fed the Weave. The Weave generated again. The cycle spun faster, denser, quieter.

From Runar’s perspective the process remained almost meditative. There was no struggle. No dramatic surge of power that forced him to stabilize anything. The two Supreme Principles simply worked together with perfect efficiency, each elevating the other in a continuous, self-reinforcing ascent. His understanding of the Multiverse grew so complete that the distinction between ”knowing” and ”owning” began to blur. Laws that had once been external became internal reference points. Principles that had once been studied became raw material.

From the outside, almost nothing changed.

Almost.

Faint echoes began to ripple outward.

In a dead sector, where dead universes lay, whose final laws had been silent for countless eras, a forgotten martial principle briefly stirred, resonating with one of the origins Runar had just consumed. The resonance lasted less than a heartbeat before fading, but the residual will of thosevdead universes shivered as if something vast had walked across its grave. For a moment the lifeless stars of that cosmos flickered with a light that no longer had any right to exist. Then the light vanished, and silence returned.

In a distant high-magic cosmos, an ancient formation that had stood unbroken since the birth of its first star flickered once — a single, inexplicable pulse of recognition — then returned to stillness. The formation’s guardian spirit, an old thing that had long since forgotten its own name, opened eyes it had not used in eons and stared at nothing. It felt as though someone had read the original diagram from which the formation had been copied, and in reading it had understood the diagram better than the original creator ever had. The spirit closed its eyes again and chose not to investigate. Some things were safer left alone.

Across several sealed realms, long-dormant conceptual locks trembled and then settled again, as if an invisible hand had brushed them and decided they were not yet worth opening. In one particularly ancient prison dimension, a sealed existence that had been forgotten by even the Paragons stirred in its sleep, sensing a pressure that was not directed at it and yet somehow passed through it completely. It growled once in the darkness and then fell silent, confused.

Most beings never noticed.

A handful of the oldest true Paragons did.

In the Multiversal Center’s deepest concealed halls, the Paragon whose body was woven from living star charts paused mid-sentence during a routine quota review. A vague, formless unease slid through his principles like cold water. He checked every seal, every monitoring array, every layer of karma camouflage. Nothing was wrong. The screens still displayed their endless streams of reincarnator lives. The quotas remained balanced. The machine continued to function exactly as it always had. The feeling remained anyway — a quiet sense that something far outside their carefully managed structure had just taken a slow, deliberate breath.

”Did you feel that?” he asked quietly.

The crystalline-shadow Paragon across from him frowned, form flickering once. ”I felt... something. Like a page being turned in a book I didn’t know existed.”

Further away, a Paragon who had lived since the earliest eras of the Multiverse opened her eyes in the middle of closed-door cultivation. For a moment she felt as if the entire structure of laws she had spent trillions of years mastering had been gently, almost politely, read. Not challenged. Not attacked. Simply read with perfect comprehension. The sensation vanished before she could chase it. She sat in silence for a long time afterward, unable to name what had disturbed her, only certain that whatever it was had already moved on.

None of them could trace the source.

None of them would ever be able to.

Inside the sealed pocket dimension, the echoes reached Celestia and Nyla in a different way.

Celestia sat in perfect stillness, the silver-violet storm lattice circulating through her meridians in slow, elegant cycles. Soft currents of controlled wind and violet lightning drifted around her body without ever touching the cloud-silk bed. Suddenly a new current of understanding rose inside the inheritance — not forced, not taught, simply *present*. It slotted into the living framework Runar had woven for her as if it had always belonged there. Her perception of wind and lightning deepened in a single quiet breath. She felt the original spark of elemental command that Runar had just absorbed, refined through Origin Weave, and allowed to spill over in a form perfectly suited to her nature.

She opened her eyes, silver hair drifting around her shoulders, and whispered almost to herself:

”...He is doing something enormous again.”

The insight settled deeper. Her storm lattice expanded, not in size but in resolution. She could now perceive the subtle differences between natural wind and conceptual wind, between lightning born of energy and lightning born of pure law. The inheritance drank the new understanding greedily and then demanded more, already reaching for the next layer.

Across from her, Nyla’s gold-and-crimson curiosity engine flared without warning. A branching path that had not existed moments before suddenly opened inside the inheritance, wild and inviting. The new path carried the flavor of contradiction and possibility — the same higher-order structure Origin Weave had just generated from an ancient hybrid spark. Nyla laughed under her breath, eyes bright with fierce delight, and pushed her will straight into the new direction without hesitation.

The engine drank the insight greedily and immediately began testing it, throwing challenges back at her, demanding she prove she could keep up. She grinned, accepted every challenge, and forced the new branch to grow faster.

Both women felt it at the same time: the Multiverse itself was subtly feeding them. Not randomly. Precisely. As if the vast digestion happening outside was so complete that even the act of being read produced perfect, tailored runoff that flowed straight into the inheritances Runar had left them.

Nyla rolled onto her back, staring up at the drifting auroras, and spoke to the empty air with open affection and amusement.

”Take your time, husband. We’re not wasting it. But when you finally come back, you’d better be ready. I’m going to test every new thing this inheritance gives me on you.”

Celestia closed her eyes again, already guiding the new insight deeper into her storm lattice. Her voice was soft, steady, and certain.

”We know. He will return when the process allows it. Until then, we walk.”

Outside, in the endless void, Runar continued.

The loop spun on — Absolute Comprehension drinking the origins of knowledge, Origin Weave generating structures that had never existed, each cycle elevating the other without pause or strain. The Multiverse, past and present and future and alternate, had become pure nourishment. The faint echoes it produced were nothing more than the natural consequence of something so thorough occurring on a scale no Paragon had ever imagined and no formation had ever been designed to detect.

Runar’s expression remained calm. There was no triumph in him, no arrogance, only the quiet satisfaction of a process that was working exactly as it should. The two Supreme Principles moved in perfect harmony. His understanding continued to deepen. The original higher-order structures continued to bloom.

The digestion was still nowhere near finished.

And the loop only deepened.
