Myriad Heavens: Rise of the Rune God

Chapter 322: Chapter 323: Tailored Inheritances

The pocket dimension was quiet again.

The residual shockwaves of their dual cultivation had finally settled. The auroras overhead had returned to their slow, drifting pace. The bed of cloud and spiritual silk was a tangled mess of limbs, sweat, and faint glowing traces of essence that still clung to skin like warm starlight. Celestia lay against Runar’s left side, silver hair spilled across his chest, one hand resting over his heart. Nyla was draped over his right, cheek pressed to his shoulder, one leg still thrown possessively across his hip.

For a long time none of them spoke.

The playful hunger that had driven the last several days had burned itself down into something quieter. They had advanced—violently, gloriously—but both women understood the difference between what they had just done and what came next. The dual cultivation had been indulgence mixed with cultivation. Effective, yes. Enjoyable beyond words.

But still play.

Now the real work began.

Runar’s fingers moved slowly through Celestia’s hair, then shifted to stroke the back of Nyla’s neck. His voice, when it came, was calm and steady, the same tone he used when discussing the structure of laws or the weight of principles.

”You’ve both crossed into the Multiversal realm,” he said. ”The foundation is solid. The essence you took from me will keep tempering your bodies for a while longer. But from here on, raw resources and dual cultivation alone won’t carry you to Paragon. You need a path that belongs to each of you.”

Celestia lifted her head slightly. Her eyes were clear, perceptive, already listening on more than one level. Nyla shifted just enough to look at him, playful spark still present but tempered by seriousness.

Runar sat up slowly, bringing them with him until they rested against the headboard of condensed cloud. He raised one hand.

Origin Weave answered.

The air in front of them folded inward like silk being drawn through an invisible needle. Two distinct streams of pure conceptual light separated from the fabric of the pocket dimension itself—one the color of storm-silver and deep violet, the other a living gold shot through with sharp crimson threads. Runar’s Absolute Comprehension guided every strand. Origin Weave shaped them.

He did not simply create techniques.

He wove inheritances.

For Celestia he crafted something that matched her nature exactly: calm, intelligent, steady, and deeply perceptive. The inheritance took the form of a living storm lattice—an ever-refining framework of wind, lightning, and absolute observational clarity. It would allow her to perceive the hidden structures of any principle she encountered, then steadily rewrite and perfect her own path without ever losing control. Where other cultivators forced breakthroughs through violence or desperation, Celestia’s inheritance would let her evolve the way a storm system matured—quietly, inevitably, and with devastating precision. It carried the quiet certainty of someone who saw everything and never needed to rush.

For Nyla he shaped something entirely different. Her inheritance was wilder, hungrier, and adaptive. It took the shape of a living curiosity engine—an aggressive, playful, ever-branching principle that thrived on exploration, conflict, and desire. It would let her devour experiences, techniques, and even opposing laws, then reforge them into something uniquely hers. Where Celestia’s path was steady refinement, Nyla’s was restless evolution. The inheritance encouraged her to chase, to take, to experiment, and to grow stronger every time she refused to stay still. It fit the woman who had pounced on him first and laughed while she used him.

Both inheritances glowed with the density of his Supreme Principles. They were not copies of anything that already existed in the Multiverse. They were original—woven from Origin Weave and filtered through Absolute Comprehension until they were perfectly tailored.

Runar looked at each of them in turn.

”These will serve as your foundations toward the Paragon realm,” he said. ”They are not finished paths. They are living frameworks. You will still have to walk them yourselves. You will still have to face the bottlenecks, the isolation, and the will required to push beyond Multiversal. But these inheritances will make sure the road in front of you is the one that fits who you actually are.”

Celestia’s gaze stayed locked on the silver-violet lattice floating in front of her. She could already feel how perfectly it matched the quiet storm that had always lived inside her. Nyla’s eyes shone as she stared at the gold-and-crimson construct, a slow, fierce smile spreading across her face.

Runar reached out first to Celestia.

He placed two fingers against the center of her forehead. The inheritance flowed into her like cool water pouring into a vessel that had been waiting for it its entire life. There was no violence in the transfer—only depth. Celestia’s eyes fluttered shut. Her breath caught once as the living lattice settled into her sea of consciousness and began quietly rearranging the way her principles interacted with the world. When she opened her eyes again they were brighter, sharper, and wet at the edges.

”Thank you,” she whispered. The words were soft, but the weight behind them was absolute. She leaned forward and pressed her forehead against his for a long moment, silver hair falling around them like a private curtain. ”I can feel how much of yourself you put into this.”

Runar brushed his thumb once across her cheek. ”It was always meant for you.”

Then he turned to Nyla.

He pressed his palm flat over her heart. The gold-and-crimson inheritance surged into her with more heat and motion, matching the restless fire in her nature. Nyla’s back arched slightly. A low, startled sound left her throat as the living curiosity engine nested itself deep inside her dantian and immediately began reaching outward, hungry for everything she would feed it. When the transfer finished she was breathing hard, eyes bright with something that was half gratitude and half wild excitement.

She grabbed the front of his robes, yanked him close, and kissed him hard—short, fierce, and full of feeling.

”Thank you,” she said against his mouth, voice rough. ”You absolute maniac. This is perfect.”

Runar’s arms settled around both of them again. The three of them stayed like that for a while, quiet and close, the newly given inheritances already beginning to hum inside the two women.

After a time he began to speak again—low, measured Dao lectures that wove through the silence like additional threads of guidance. He explained how to nurture a living inheritance without letting it devour the self. How to recognize the difference between forced growth and true evolution. How the final steps toward Paragon required a will that could stand alone even when every external support was stripped away. Celestia listened with absolute focus, occasionally asking precise questions that showed how quickly the new framework was already sharpening her perception. Nyla interrupted more often, challenging points, testing edges, and grinning whenever Runar calmly dismantled her provocations and turned them into deeper lessons.

They were no longer only playing.

But the play never fully left.

Between lectures, Nyla would sometimes lean over and bite the side of his neck just hard enough to make a point. Celestia would sometimes climb into his lap without a word, silver hair falling around them, and kiss him slowly while the inheritance continued settling inside her. Runar never refused them. He simply continued teaching—voice steady, hands steady—while their bodies sought the comfort and heat they still wanted from him. The dual cultivation that followed these moments was quieter than before, less of a battle for dominance and more of a shared, lingering exchange. Still intense. Still at speeds that made the pocket dimension tremble with contained Big Bang aftershocks. Still effective. But tempered now by the seriousness of the path ahead.

Hours passed. Then more.

Celestia sat cross-legged on the bed of cloud, eyes closed, already beginning the first careful explorations of her storm lattice. Soft currents of wind and violet lightning drifted around her in perfect, controlled patterns. Nyla sprawled on her back nearby, one arm thrown over her eyes, the gold-and-crimson inheritance flickering under her skin like a restless second heartbeat. Every so often she would laugh under her breath at something only she could feel.

Runar watched them both, Absolute Comprehension open, Origin Weave still faintly active in the air around him. He could already see the early branches of their future paths forming. Neither would be easy. Both would be uniquely theirs.

He leaned back against the headboard, arms folded loosely, and continued speaking in that same calm voice—guiding, correcting, occasionally teasing when Nyla’s curiosity tried to race too far ahead of her foundation.

The pocket dimension remained sealed.

Outside, the Multiverse turned on, vast and unaware.

Inside, two newly advanced Multiversal cultivators began walking the first true steps of paths that had been woven specifically for them... while the man who had given those paths stayed close, ready to lecture, ready to catch them, and occasionally ready to let them pull him back down into the soft bed of cloud and spiritual silk whenever the seriousness needed a little more heat to balance it.

The vacation was still not over.

But it had changed.
