Chapter 1288: Chapter 1289: Not Resting on One’s Laurels

An Jingxin sighed inwardly: To possess martial arts skills truly makes a difference.

This was her first time experiencing this, yet she did not perform as well as Tobanya did just now.

Seeing Tobanya complete the course safely and with a decent performance, Meng Zhuqing let go of her worries, and at the same time, felt proud of her daughter-in-law.

Subsequently, An Jing had Shi Shi attempt the course as well, and Shi Shi’s performance was almost on par with Tobanya’s.

This led An Jing to inwardly exclaim once more: Possessing martial arts skills really does make a difference.

Then, An Jing let Ye Zhi run the course as well.

Ye Zhi was very fast, and her moves were particularly stylish, nearly indistinguishable from An Jing’s own performance.

Upon witnessing Ye Zhi’s capabilities, the generals also understood why the petite Ye Zhi was chosen as the deputy; it turned out she truly had the skills.

”Ye Zhi, lead their training,” An Jing ordered.

”Yes, Instructor,” responded Ye Zhi.

Upon receiving the command, Ye Zhi led the ten new recruits through the 400-meter obstacle training.

An Jing estimated that Tobanya and Shi Shi’s speed in completing the 400-meter obstacle course was up to standard, but this was not enough; An Jing wanted them to perform even better and move faster.

Therefore, Tobanya and Shi Shi also had to train together.

More training will do the trick.

After watching Ye Zhi lead the new recruits in training, An Jing then approached the crowd of onlookers, first giving Xiao Changyi, Prince Yi, a salute to pay her respects, before she calmly asked the generals, ”May I ask what insights the generals have after witnessing the training?”

The generals did not immediately answer, but after some discussion, it was Liu Buli, the person in charge of Wolf Camp, who spoke: ”This training method is excellent; it takes into account a soldier’s strength, speed, agility, coordination, and endurance.”

To have such insight, he truly lives up to the title of a high-ranking general in the military.

All the admiration was evident in An Jing’s eyes.

Liu Buli continued, ”If a military camp is stationed in one place for an extended period, then it would be feasible to employ this training method.”

Setting up these obstacles takes time, and they cannot be carried along for training unless one is stationed in one place for a long while to build and use them. If the camp must constantly move, then it would be impractical to use this for training.

An Jing was aware of this as well, so she did not say anything more.

However, a general praised her, saying, ”Instructor An’s talent in training soldiers is seldom matched in the military.”

An Jing replied, ”The general flatters me too much. This military training was a combined effort with contributions from my sister-in-law, Prince Yi, and others. I truly do not deserve full credit.”

Seeing An Jing not claim any undue credit, the generals appreciated her even more.

Only after Xiao Changyi and the generals left did An Jing start training with Ye Zhi.

The 400-meter obstacle course was quite easy for Tobanya and Shi Shi, but for the other eight new recruits, it wasn’t so at first.

Yet, once Li Wuyu, Du Aya, and Lie Qi became familiar with exactly how to navigate the obstacles, they too could complete the 400-meter course without any assistance.

Even Li Wuyu’s speed surpassed that of Tobanya and Shi Shi.

And that was mainly due to Li Wuyu’s solid foundation, with an especially stable lower body stance.

It shows that the horse stance Li Wuyu practiced for many years was not in vain.

Du Aya also had a stable lower body, but her balance was somewhat lacking. She was fast at crossing other obstacles, but when it came to the balance beam and suspension bridge, she wobbled significantly.

Lie Qi had average physical strength and managed to complete the course, but her speed was not fast, and she also wobbled while crossing the suspension bridge and similar obstacles.

Su Chengyuan had a bit of acrophobia and dared not cross the monkey bars; even though An Jing and Ye Zhi reassured her from below that they would catch her if she fell, she still hesitated.
