Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1263: Chapter 1264: This Is Not the Time to Show Off!

But just like the previous times, she no longer had the strength to throw Shi Hua, yet she didn’t give up. She tried her hardest to carry Shi Hua on her back, wanting to execute an over-the-shoulder throw on him.

Struggling, struggling, Shi Hua behind her remained completely immobile on her back; finally, tears fell from Su Chengyuan’s eyes.

It was too hard.

It was really too hard.

She was so exhausted that she now harbored a faint desire to just die in this mudfield and be done with it.

But seeing Liu Feifei and Ting Shu already kneeling in the mudfield, utterly exhausted and unable to stand up, yet still trying to rise, wanting to continue the training, Su Chengyuan immediately bit her lip and, while crying quietly, kept trying to throw Shi Hua over her shoulder.

An Jing, seeing Su Chengyuan crying, felt somewhat softhearted, but she couldn’t afford to be tender-hearted; she had to be hard-hearted.

This training was indeed exhausting, but once they got used to the exhaustion, it wouldn’t feel so tiring anymore.

An Jing said in an extremely cold voice: ”Soldiers may bleed, but they never cry. Su Chengyuan, hold those tears back.”

Su Chengyuan stubbornly raised her hand to wipe them away and then, continued trying to throw Shi Hua over her shoulder.

It was at that moment that Ting Shu urgently shouted, ”Instructor, Feifei has fainted!”

Startled, An Jing immediately ran to Liu Feifei’s side, and, together with Ye Zhi, they carried Liu Feifei ashore.

”Ye Zi, you quickly take Feifei to see Gong Jue Chen.”

Although Ye Zhi really did not want to see Gong Jue Chen, saving someone was urgent, so she immediately responded: ”Okay.”

Then, Ye Zhi carried Liu Feifei on her back to find Gong Jue Chen, while An Jing stayed behind to continue training the new recruits.

”Su Chengyuan, you will now partner with Ting Shu, and I will pair up with Shi Hua,” An Jing ordered.

Li Wuyu had just been harshly thrown by Du Aya and was currently lying in the mudfield unable to get up, seeing An Jing continue the training without giving them a rest even after Liu Feifei fainted, she couldn’t help but voice her dissatisfaction: ”Instructor, this is too much!” Although she was mentally prepared, it was indeed very exhausting.

An Jing didn’t even look at her and simply retorted, ”The path you chose yourself, you must finish even if you have to crawl.”

She had given them a choice; if they were afraid of hardship and tiredness, they could choose not to stay and be soldiers, but they all chose to stay, and so they must accept all of this.

When everyone heard what An Jing said, understanding the implication behind her words, suddenly no one spoke anymore.

Indeed, this was the path they chose themselves, and no one was forcing them, so even if it meant crawling, they had to finish it.

”Princess! Princess...” It was Ting Shu’s urgent voice again.

An Jing turned to look and saw Su Chengyuan, exhausted, plunge headfirst into the mudfield, completely unable to rise again.

”Come on, I’ll help you up to the bank to rest for a bit.” An Jing rushed over, helping Su Chengyuan up, wiping the mud from her face as she thought to help her to the bank.

But Su Chengyuan tried to shake off her support and weakly protested with stubbornness, ”I don’t need it!”

”This isn’t the time to act tough!” An Jing said sharply. If Su Chengyuan could still hold on, she would naturally let her persist until the last moment, but it was clear that Su Chengyuan could no longer keep going. ”If you want to faint like Liu Feifei and be carried off to the military doctor, then go ahead!”

Only then did Su Chengyuan allow An Jing to help her to the bank to sit and rest.

After putting her down, An Jing poured her a bowl of water, and then returned to the mudfield.

Seeing that Ting Shu also had no strength left and was completely unable to continue the training, An Jing finally helped Ting Shu to the bank as well and gave her a bowl of water too.
