Chapter 1275: Chapter 1276: With My Husband Here, He Wouldn’t Dare

Here, the referee’s job is merely to keep track of the score for both teams, watch the time, and announce the start and end of the match, as well as halftime breaks.

However, everyone knows the relationship between Meng Zhuqing and Tobanya.

As soon as they heard Meng Zhuqing was to be the referee, Du Aya was the first to object: ”General Meng is Jade Jade’s husband. What if he favors Jade Jade’s team?”

An Jing’s team members Li Wuyu, Lie Qi, Shi Hua, and Liu Feifei also disagreed, all worried that Meng Zhuqing might show favoritism.

Before Tobanya and Meng Zhuqing could speak, An Jing chuckled and said, ”Didn’t you see who is sitting there drinking tea? Prince Yi, my husband! With my husband present, General Meng wouldn’t dare to be partial. Moreover, General Meng is just keeping track of the time and the balls passed, all obvious tasks. Even if he wants to be biased, he wouldn’t be able to.”

Originally, Du Aya and the others were worried that Meng Zhuqing might record their passes under Tobanya’s team. Now, hearing what An Jing said, they stopped worrying and accepted the fact that Meng Zhuqing would be the referee.

The match started.

In the first half, neither team could send the ball past the adept opponent.

However, one person stood out prominently, and that was Li Wuyu. She almost always had control of the ball, running with it and juggling it skillfully out of her opponents’ reach.

Initially, everyone thought that Liu Feifei and Ting Shu would perform the worst. However, it turned out to be Du Aya who performed the worst.

Although Du Aya was strong and tall, her body wasn’t as agile as the others. Whenever the ball came to her feet, it would be stolen away by someone, and over time, Du Aya herself became so frustrated that she felt like exploding. It was the first time she felt her feet not listening to her commands.

The best and the worst performances were both from An Jing’s team.

During halftime, An Jing praised Li Wuyu, ”Perform well in the second half, and maybe our side can score a goal.”

”Mmm!” Li Wuyu nodded vigorously, determined to score a goal and win the match.

Ye Zhi’s team felt somewhat dejected. Although the worst performer, Du Aya, was also in An Jing’s team, Li Wuyu almost controlled the ball entirely, leaving them hardly any chance to kick the ball past the adept marker.

It was baffling that Li Wuyu, who had just learned today, played so much better than them!

And the one feeling the most downhearted was Du Aya, who not only felt like she had let her team down but also confronted a harsh reality.

You could hear Du Aya sitting on the ground, resting, and while looking at her feet dejectedly, said, ”I always knew I was clumsy with my hands; I am stable holding a slaughtering knife, but if you ask me to sew, I can’t manage, I always stab my hand with the embroidery needle. But I truly didn’t expect that my feet could be just as clumsy.”

An Jing said, ”Don’t feel bad, everyone has their strengths, you can’t be good at everything.”

Seeing that Du Aya was genuinely disheartened, Li Wuyu refrained from joking and said, ”The instructor is right. Like me, although I now play better than you, there are many things I am not as good at as you. Think about lifting the Stone Lock, weighted running, mud wrestling, and you’ll know I’m not lying.”

Upon hearing this, Du Aya’s spirits lifted, no longer dwelling on her clumsiness and instead resumed her bright and bold demeanor. She slapped Li Wuyu’s shoulder and exclaimed, ”Good thing I’m in the same group as you, if it had been the other group, we would be assured to lose.”
